I understand being charged the full amount for a no-show, what I don't understand is that often one makes these appointments in advance. If you take appointments online, you should have an online system you can verify the appointment had been made and check the date and time. No confirmation email was sent to verify the appointment had truly been scheduled and there was no record of any scheduled appointments in the account you're required to create, even though there's a tab called "appointments" it just takes you to the screen to choose services, though they have no problem saving your cc# on the profile. I was told I'd chosen not to receive notifications and hence no confirmation email, but confirming an appointed is not the same thing as notifications and even so, the info should be listed in your account. The site also states that even if you choose not to receive notifications they will still contact you with critical informative. I think confirmation is critical. I'd assumed I hadn't actually completed the transaction when I could find no record of an appointment. An assumption that cost me $155 -- happy birthday to me! read more

I've had multiple sport/deep tissue massages at different places before, not to mention much more expensive ones but never one like this. It was MAGICAL. I was referred by my friend who spoke very highly of the massage therapist, Sarah. The experience did not disappoint, especially for the price point. I cannot say enough good things about Sarah. She is beyond in-tune with her clients, went above and beyond to make sure all my needs were met, and is overall just such a warm, kind, and professional massage therapist who is a master of her craft. I truly enjoyed the feedback she offered during and at the end of the session regarding my bodies tightness and what I can do in between massages to help relieve that. The owner of the store has truly made the place zen. The courtyard I was greeted with outside is filled with beautiful plants and pebbles. It was a nice place to debrief after the massage. I booked an appointment for acupuncture with Ross and also a 90-minute massage with Mila. I'll go through the entire service first and then explain the five-star rating. The acupuncture experience was a little bit of a letdown - Ross rolled in 10 minutes after the appointment was supposed to start - coffee in hand - like he didn't have a care in the world. I 100% get someone running late, but I also expect people to be courteous and the lack of apology, or even acknowledgment, was not a great start. However, the rest of my experience is what made this place stand out in a great way. Mila, the massage therapist that I had booked for the following day, was there when I came and gave me THE BEST customer service while her appointment got set up and I waited for Ross to arrive. When her appointment was ready, there was another individual (an employee, I believe, I didn't catch their name) who helped me cancel the appointment with Ross and assured me I wouldn't be charged. The following day, Mila was there and ready for me., She has mastered the art of body manipulation and the art of companionable silence. To put a finer point on it - I always feel like I'm being rude when I don't engage with the person who is literally touching my naked body, but I felt none of that awkwardness. When I engaged, she did. When I was silent, she didn't push it. Today, I received the sweetest text from the owner, Rachael, who profusely apologized for the lateness of Ross. I want to note that this text message was completely unprompted, meaning that Mila must've (appropriately) passed along what happened to the owner. The fact that Mila took ownership over this situation, and Rachael went above and beyond to reach out demonstrates an impressive amount of pride in their work, integrity, and kindness. I will definitely be a repeat customer and am so grateful that people like Rachael and Mila are in the world. read more

Oh good, another place I can rave about Lydia -- In the past several months, anyone who would listen, I've told how amazing facials from Lydia at Breathe are. Today I received my second facial from her. I really had no choice since after the first one, the first words I was able to choke out after what could only be described as ten cherubs dancing across my face for an hour were, "My face feels like a cloud." Today was no exception. I'm moving away to Philadelphia in a few short months and unfortunately since I don't want the felony of kidnapping Lydia and taking her with me, the next best thing I can do is let you all know just how fabulous she is! read more

Even though I work in healthcare and try to take care of myself, I had never got into a skincare routine until about a year or two ago when I started to use tretinoin to treat acne scars. My family bought me a gift certificate to Breathe to destress from the stress of the pandemic under the assumption that I would get a massage, but I decided to try a facial for the first time. I am so glad that I did! Lydia is a lovely person and easy to talk to. I don't know anything about this kind of service, so she picked something for me based on my needs. Folks, my acne scars looked so good after my first session, I am addicted. My face felt fresh and hydrated for about a month (literally, I swear) and the results of the "abrasion" or "peeling" or whatever never seemed to go away. I am so impressed, I actually just went back for a 30 minute "touch-up" today (about 5 weeks later) and I am excited to see if the second time around gives me the same results - or better. The facial sure feels good, but it is also nice to think of how nice my skin will look in about a day. I enjoy talking with Lydia and the ambiance of the place is very nice. I think the table had a warmer the first time I went, I need to remember to ask to use it next time (can't promise this, but I remember loving how warm it was the first time!). I feel like being in that space was wonderful for 60 minutes, so I think I'll book 60 minutes for the next time I go. It seems like Lydia was able to get to most of the same therapeutic stuff in 30 minutes though, so it is still worth checking it out if the 30 minute one is more affordable for you. I'll probably try out the CBD facial next time but ask if she can do the skin scraping thing too (it looks like you can add it on). I think extractions are included with most of the facials too. I can't speak to any of the other services they provide, but I have heard people speak positively of the massage therapists. I also hear that it is a pretty good place to work, which makes me want to support them too. I think I will be a repeat customer for quite a while! I come here regularly for bikini waxes and eyebrow waxes, and even though prices have gone up since they first opened, I keep coming back for a reason. Both Hannah and Leigh are extremely professional and talented at what they do. I'm not super regular about coming in, but they always remember me and we have great conversations- which is a feat when you're getting a bikini wax! I have always felt incredibly comfortable here, and both women have been great about responding to me if I feel the wax is too hot, etc. For Brazilians, it's also super nice because when they do the back they just have you lay on your side (which feels way less invasive and weird than being on all fours!!). If you do go for bikini waxes regularly, definitely go for the packages. I see Alyna every 2-3 weeks. She is very good at translating how I describe my pain and stress into treatments that are effective. I alternate between two treatments. One is a heavy hand, forearm, elbow, and focus on my hands, forearms, and shoulders. That's where I keep my stress and she is really good at helping it go away. I also get a general once-over that focuses more on overall flexibility than any specific area. She does both really well. In addition, she is proactive about getting feedback about what would make my session that day the best. She listens, asks questions that get the details she needs, and then follows up as she does the work to fine-tune. She has taken notes about how I like the room. Confirmation of those details for the current session before we start is part of her process along with the discussion about what needs attention. The facility is also very calming and peaceful. I came in while taking a stay-cation. I booked a facial with Hattie and a 60 minute aromatherapy massage with Alyna. I had the best experience. Hattie was knowledgeable and told exactly what was wrong with my skin. She made the right recommendations and I have to come back to purchase the items she told me would get me the results I need. Alyna was also very good in giving me a massage that focuses on my trouble areas but was also relaxing.
