I adjusted the sweetness to 75% but it turned out to be just right. If you are in the mood for something sweet, definitely keep the regular sweetness. Panda Milk Tea - 3/5 - it's the Earl grey milk tea with black sugar! I am giving it a lower rating because it tasted very water down since we adjusted the sweetness to 30% I think. However, the Earl grey tea taste was still there but just not as strong! We also asked to not include the boba and agar boba that come with the drink so the experience might have been a lil different. I would say it's prob a 4/5 if we got like 70% sweet. read more

Open during COVID! Came here to try their Cold Ube Taro Latte and it was very delicious! The ube and taro flavor was very prominent and plus it's super pretty. I have been here a few times and this is definitely one of my top boba joints in the city. Located in the mission district, parking can be a little hard and also may not be the best place to wander alone at night. They have a lot of table space and board games available, offering you a safe place for you and your friends to chill. I am in loveee with their ube taro latte (I'm craving it as I type this review). It is unique in the sense that no other place in the city (to my knowledge) offers a ube taro combo! It is NOT a milk tea, but the consistency gives reminds me of a creamy taro milkshake, filled with little chunks of ube and taro. Plus--- the boba is free! (or included in the drink lol) They do not offer substitution of the topping, so if you want something else, you're going to have to pay for it. I have also tried their house milk tea (was great) and panda milk tea, which is a mixture of earl grey milk tea. The panda milk tea was not my favorite. By making a combination of earl grey and black tea, the panda milk tea tasted watered down, rather than being full in tea flavor. My friends and I came here on a whim to check out this boba spot since we were in the Mission. And I've got to say - I was a bit disappointed. We got the Jasmine Green Milk Tea (75% sweetness, less ice), Ceylon Black Milk Tea (50% sweetness, less ice), and Brew Cha Fruit Tea (50% sweetness, less ice) to try. While the boba itself was very chewy and tasted fresh, both milk teas were extremely watered down, and did not have much of a tea taste. It pretty much tasted like sugary water rather than a creamy milk tea. The Brew Cha Fruit Tea, however, tasted pretty good! The drink itself tasted naturally sweet, and the fruits added a very refreshing element. There is a bit of a tea taste, which I personally wish would be a bit stronger. Overall, I've had better milk teas, so I don't think I would come back here again. Unless you prove me wrong, I'm placing Brew Cha at the top of my list of best boba shops, better than Boba Guys (gasp), as good as Urban Remedy, and perhaps as good as Gong Cha and Boba Drive. A few things that I appreciated about Brew Cha: we walked in 10 minutes before closing like aholes but the peeps at the counter were nothing but nice to us and were so patient with our questions, offering their suggestions to create our special customized drink. We settled on warm teas because SF, especially at night, is always freezing! They had agar boba, to our delight, but we were dismayed by their paper straws. We grumbled between each other and the employee, ever so attentive, cheerfully commented that they are not paper straws, but rather they were made of bamboo! They also have straws made out of sugar cane for cold drinks. Awesome service, drinks, and dedication to the environment. Y'all are so SF. read more

I love the gooey sappy thickness of the taro/ube paste. Another favorite is the Black Sugar Latte. I typically don't like this drink, even the ones in Hong Kong because they always just taste like milk and cereal. However, the marbling of this drink was well done and helped incorporate the brown sugar flavor with the milk. This was the first brown sugar latte that I've liked! I was quite excited to give this shop's iconic ube taro latte a try. The photos on Yelp makes it look incredible. It's also conveniently available for delivery online, which gives some excitement during the busy work days. The drink itself is gorgeous, but I think it's more a visual appeal than the flavors itself. After giving it a try recently, I thought that there were some interesting flavors but nothing really impressed me. The ube/taro lining the edge of the cup doesn't mix into the rest of the drink well, and it's quite difficult to scrape off. The little chunks at the bottom was grainy and overall the flavors tasted watered down. I think the drink itself would taste better if the ube / taro was pureed and mixed in well with the rest of the drink. For most people, I think it's work getting the larger size, which is 50% more for 50 cents. I normally do 50% sugar on fruit tea drinks to cut the sourness of the citrus so next time I'd opt for 50% here as well. Nice also that the larger size (24 oz vs 16 oz) is only 50 cents more and the alternative milk options are at no extra charge. Environment-wise, the staff here are very friendly and patient. The drinks come out quick even when it's busy. The space itself is well-lit and clean with ample seating.
