Cold mashed potatoes, fries (which were good), and a crab cake pounded flat
    Jerl R.

I've been here previously and the experience was great, this time not so much. I'll start by stating that the restaurant was not busy at all, we ordered an appetizer that was promptly brought out by the kitchen staff but our waiter took a long time to return to take our entree orders. My fiancé ordered lamb chops and I ordered the crab cakes, her food was delectable but mine was...what can only be described as the worst crab cakes I've ever had. It was pounded thin like a smash burger while also being 50% filler, I was served 2 and couldn't even finish them. Not to mention my mashed potatoes were cold, this meal overall left a bad taste in my mouth, pun intended, and I'm not sure I'll patronize here again, at least no time soon.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]This was our first time dining here and we had perfect weather to eat outside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I waitress our server was very nice. They were not very familiar with the menu and did not know that mussels existed on the menu. I switched my order to get the muscles and the crab dip. The crab dip was very thick cream cheese. It had a nice flavor, but very heavy and not a lot of crab. It was mixed in very finely. The muscles were nice size and a good portion. The broth was a marinara sauce, which had a nice flavor. I found I had eight unopened muscles in my bowl. It made me question why so many were not opened after being cooked finally my fiancé got the ribeye steak. The vegetables and potatoes were delicious. The steak however, needed a lot of help. It actually tasted like gasoline flame broil, and the flavor was awful. We did not complain, but should have. I'm not sure about coming back. I really like their other establishment grill Marx iin Olney. [[HIGHLIGHT]]If you like, live music, they offer that here.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

It was my husband and I's first time. We had an amazing experience with Darwin our bartender. He made us feel very welcomed and constantly checked in on us to make sure we are okay. He is an amazing bartender and overall chill and down to earth person. We were welcomed the minute we walked in and sat down. Our drinks were amazing and we were so thankful for the service. We got onion rings and they were delicious. We got to meet Sam the owner and he was very kind and welcoming. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We love the ambiance.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We are so happy we made this stop and we will be back again. Thank you so much for an amazing first experience. If you're in the area please come check them out and support them.

Went in about 5 mins ago. The receptionist gave us no eye contact and told us they were booked. For the night. [[HIGHLIGHT]]While there's about 10 more tables in the back, the pictures are from the front of the restaurant[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. On a Tuesday. Does it look packed? Went to Burton's across the street.

Bar and Grill located in Kentlands. I came by because they offer Happy Hour from Sunday through Friday, 3:30-6:30 which are great times. I tried 3 appetizers from the Happy Hour menu and they tasted great, portions are reasonable as well. Drink selection is also great as shown in the picture included. Service was good as my waiter was super attentive, never had an issue asking for something. My only complaint is that when I was here they did not play the music loud enough throughout the restaurant so it felt like you could hear everyone's conversations... I'm sure if it's busier it wouldn't be an issue. I will be returning to try other items.

BBQ Chicken Sandwich & onion rings

Had a late lunch/early dinner here on a Sunday afternoon. A friend asked for the WNBA finals to be put on a tv and they were so kind and accommodating - they changed one of the TVs By the bar to the game AND changed a tv by our table to the game. Staff was very attentive and friendly. Our waiter refilled my water glass countless times. My bbq grilled chicken sandwich was perfect - not too much bbq sauce. The onion rings were so good I ate them all. The decor fits the theme and the beer menu looks like a lot of great options. What a delightful experience for my first visit to Brews and Barrels.

    Chocolate Martini - June 2024

I visited during Happy Hour, but seemed to have ordered from the dinner menu. Sat at the bar and tried the Swedish Meat Balls. It is described as tender meat balls freshly made with ground beef tossed in creamy lemon and thyme sauce. It was okay. I was not a fan of the creamy lemon sauce. I also had a Chocolate Martini - described as having Vanilla vodka, Godiva chocolate liqueur, and Kahlua. This drink is not sweet, but rather strong. I am a fan of Martini's but will have to try a different drink on my next visit. Service was great. 3.5 stars Visited June 2024

Taco Tuesday deal (chicken taco and Caesar salad)
    Jaime O.

The Taco Tuesday deal is not in the menu, but my friend knew about it. 2 tacos, salad and margarita for $15. We got doubles and totally worth it! It all tasted so good! Servers were wonderful! Can't say that about host staff. 2 girls sat behind the desk and just looked at each other like "who's gonna get up and take them to a table". Wasn't the best first impression.

Highly disappointed with my entire experience here. The waiter didn't seem interested in helping us. He kept trying to rush us and it felt like they wanted us to leave as soon as possible. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There was barely anyone there for them to be rushing us.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I wasn't even done with dish and they were about to take it away. On top of that, my friends wagu burger was well done when he had asked for medium rare. I felt rushed the entire time. I was even thinking of getting dessert but due to them asking us 6 times if we were ready within a span of 5-10 minutes was ridiculous. I would not come back.

The rolls that I ordered were of good quality, and the sushi boat was fresh and incredible. Great portions too, and everyone in my party was satisfied with the food. Unfortunately I did find two fish scales in one of the sushi boat's nigiri, and that could have been rough since someone in my party has a lot of trouble chewing. I was offered a $10 discount, but the system wouldn't allow it to be stacked with another discount that someone else in my party originally had. I asked for the existing discount to be removed so that it could be used on another visit, but the server misunderstood me and ran that one instead of the discount we were offered that day for the mishap. By the time I figured out that there was a mistake, we didn't have time to correct it due to personal schedules. I've enjoyed most of my experiences with Kusshi over the years, but I do hope that they'll figure out a way to ensure that their sushi doesn't have inedible extras.

The only downside of the experience is at the end when the waiter was boxing up all the food for us. Very sweet that they do this but when boxing up my partners food, they only boxed up the rice and they got rid of the lamb that he was looking forward to eating more of later. So that was kind of a disappointment for us. I think if we go again, we would request to box our food ourselves since I'm not sure why they decided to get rid of all of his lamb.

The hostess was warm and accommodating, offering to seat me while I waited for my friend. Once she arrived, we were promptly shown to a comfortable booth in the dining room. The floor-to-ceiling windows filled the space with natural light, creating a bright and inviting atmosphere. We started with the cheesesteak spring rolls (three per order), which were delicious. They tasted exactly as advertised--gooey cheesesteak filling wrapped in a perfectly crispy spring roll. For our entrees, my friend ordered the short ribs with broccoli instead of risotto, while I chose the Cajun shrimp pasta. The short ribs came with two generous pieces and were incredibly tender. My friend, who always orders short ribs whenever they're on a menu, was thoroughly impressed. The Cajun shrimp pasta was just okay. While it included a generous portion of nicely sized shrimp and the sausage added some much-needed flavor, the dish overall fell short of my expectations. The pasta was cooked slightly past al dente, and I was hoping for more of the bold, spicy kick you'd expect from a Cajun dish, but the flavors never really came through. To top off the evening, our server surprised me with a complimentary birthday dessert, allowing me to choose anything on the menu. That was such a thoughtful touch. We shared the cheesecake, which was served in a half mason jar with whipped cream, a chocolate "Happy Birthday" plaque, and a candle. I requested the blueberry compote on the side since I wasn't sure we'd enjoy it. While it ended up being a bit sweeter than our preference, it complemented the tart cheesecake filling nicely. The only thing that caught me off guard was that the cheesecake was served warmer than expected. On a hot summer evening, I was anticipating a chilled dessert. Overall, I had a fantastic experience. The attentive service, comfortable atmosphere, and the fact that we never felt rushed--even after spending about two and a half hours at dinner--made for a memorable birthday celebration. While my entrée didn't quite hit the mark, I'd gladly return to try another dish with a bolder flavor profile.
