Came here for a causal Monday night dinner with my siblings and friend since I was craving a burger. The host greeted us with a big smile stretching from ear to ear. He seemed so happy to seat us, and was patient as we decided as a group whether we wanted to be seated inside or outside. We opted for outside seating, and that was probably the best decision I made that day. Although a little warm, a slight breeze traveled through. The scenery was nice with views of Kansas City's beautiful downtown/PnL buildings from every angle with pedestrians walking by. It was a lively and fun environment. Upon seating we were promptly waited on and ordered our drinks. My sister and I ordered the Juicy Lucy to share with a side of fries and Mac & cheese. My brother ordered the S&P burger. My friend ordered the Mac & cheese burger. The Juicy Lucy was delicious. The burger patty was cooked slightly charred, yet the meat still had a lot of moisture, stuffed with American cheese, a bite into the burger resulted in cheese melting out from inside of the burger. Pure goodness!! The fries were thick, crisp, and well season. The Mac & cheese was phenomenal. Cheese goodness with light bread crumbs sprinkled on top gave the side dish a variety of textures. My friend's Mac and cheese burger was to die for. Deep fried Mac and cheese hugged in between two burger patties, each bite resulted in a nice mix of burger and Mac and cheese! Me and my family were in town recently and wanted to eat somewhere in power and light. we stumbled upon brgr. The service was okay but quickly started to get uncomfortable when overhearing the manager constantly saying rude and honestly kind of racist things about the kitchen staff and talking harshly to other waiters while only a few couple of feet away from us. It was taking forever to get our drinks which is weird considering the restaurant was basically empty and waiters could be seen just sitting at one of the booths on their phone. Then when a waiter finally came back around I asked if we could get our drinks while my family and I were going over the menu and he walks away and scoffs as we were an inconvenience . We get our food and he doesn't come back to fill our drinks or check in until we were basically finished with our food. The service was horrible for a near empty restaurant and I recommend never coming here. read more

The deviled eggs had candied bacon on them. They were wonderful. The only complaint is it's a set of 5 and between me and my partner we had to fight over the last one 2. This grilled chicken sandwich was perfectly balanced. The rosemary aioli was the show stopper for me. 3. The salad! The farmhouse salad! I practically licked the plate clean. It was so well balanced. I don't know the last time I truly enjoyed a salad. In addition - I did have two cocktails. A ginger raspberry and a cucumber lime one. Both were equally good. Overall, this is an overpriced burger place. They need someone to perform quality control on the food before it leaves the kitchen. The kids menu says it comes with a burger with pickles on the side and a side item. We didn't get either, just a plain burger with cheese. They did not set the table with silverware or napkins. I came here with two coworkers for lunch. We parked in a garage near Cosentino's and walked over. This place validated parking! We came just after 12pm and this place was busy. Luckily, we were seated in a booth and began looking at the menu. Our waiter was helpful on what was good on the menu which also made it harder to decide what to order. There was a Battle of the Burgers going on in the month of May 2016 where there three different people's burgers and whoever had the most ordered burgers would win burgers every week for a year. I decided to order two burgers even though the waiter said one will fill you up. From the Battle of the Burgers 2016 menu, I ordered The Royal Scorcher ($12) and from the normal menu, I ordered the Steakhouse ($12) with truffle fries ($4). One of the other burgers that caught my attention was the Big Hoss ($12) mainly because of the fried egg and the other ingredients in the burger which made it sound awesome. One of my coworkers ordered the Pig Wings ($13) and I tried a piece. It was good and the sauce wasn't as spicy as I thought it would be. The Royal Scorcher tasted good wit the smoked jalapeno bacon and the Serrano strawberry jam. The Steakhouse was delicious and I would recommend that if you like roasted mushrooms and steak sauce. The truffle fries were good and was surprisingly a lot. I finished both burgers but couldn't finish the truffle fries. Overall decent experience! The hostess and our waitress were nice. The combo fries were great, but the burger itself was alright - I ordered the Juicy Lucy and added a fried egg to it, but that was a mistake because the yolk in the egg had leaked and soaked up the entire bottom bun on my burger and it was a huge mess trying to eat a soggy burger that was falling apart. I think the mayo in the burger added to the mess, so I ended up eating the rest of it with a fork and knife. The bun to patty ratio was also a little disappointing. Today was fine, but not quite the fairy tale I remember from past visits. I got a Steakhouse burger with tots and mom got Pig wings and Elotes. My burger was more like a loose meat sandwich. When I went to takr a bite pieces of the burger came tumbling out. I'm guessing it was probably broken up during the cooking process because me taking one bite couldn't have caused it to break into that many pieces. The tater tots were oily and sad. I could just buy a bag at the grocery store. The pig wings were good. The elotes seemed much soupier than I remembered. I remember when BRGR in Corinth square first opened and it was (as sad as that may be) the hip and happen'n suburbanite family dinner destination and one of the coolest places for SMEasters to get a hostess job. Now I only visit the PnL location even when kids are involved because I cannot bring myself to witness the free-for-all playground the first outpost was. At this downtown location the kids are usually well behaved and confined to a booth haha. The famous (infamous?) pig wings, that are only offered at this location and Bread&Butter ran Gram and Dunn, were proven a man's meal all in themselves. After a group dinner outing where my friend's S.O. ordered the pig wings as his meal my boyfriend had to follow suit on our next visit and opted for them over a burger as his pre-movie meal. The pig wings have a good spice level given the sambal and actually contains flavor in the seemingly irrelevant dipping sauce, which I would recommend pouring over the entire dish. As far as the (almost) namesake, I'm not sure what a Burger is without the vowels, meat patties are concerned I would say they are way underrated. Each one you order will arrive dripping in juices and not overcooked if you ask for medium, which sometimes in the Midwest is hard to come by. When I courageously decided to switch my beef, given an up charge, for bison I was not left dissatisfied. The number 3 with bison was still juicy with pink throughout the party. It was classically dressed with thick X'd slices of peppercorn bacon, a "special sauce" which was everything you wished a high-end thousand island big-mac-esque sauce to be, and the old standby slices of yellow American cheese. One of my complaints, other than with the lackluster service, was the Brussels sprout side my girlfriend chose as her meal. It was almost inedible with a high volume of black pepper used to spice the entire dish, even with the rather large portion it wasn't worth it to us. If we hadn't been in a hurry and with an uneasy toddler we would have sent them back. On the service note, a subsequent visit while trying to catch a movie at the Alamo our waitress was extremely slow to actually acknowledge we were a table wishing to eat and we regretted our decision to be seated in the dining room and not to just plop down at the bar. read more

I came here to try another burger spot in KC, since I had already been to WFM. BRGR was near my hotel, so that made it a plus. The menu contains about 11 different beef burger options; however, none of them really jumped out at me. Most contained 1 or 2 ingredients I didn't really want, or lacked 1-2 ingredients I did want. I settled on the Road Hoss and added lettuce and tomato. I skipped the apps and sides since I wasn't really that hungry to begin with. On a plus note, for being in a downtown location, their burgers are pretty reasonably priced. This would have been a decent burger (hard to mess up a blend of chuck and short rib), but it was just way too salty. I ended up eating about 80% of it before I gave up. Sitting at the bar will get you more attentive service. As a burger aficionado, I doubt I will be coming back on a return trip to KC. read more

The best damn burger I've ever had. I saw on the news this place won award for one of the best burgers in Kansas City. I had the roadhguse burger with sweet potato fries with garlic aolili to compliment. It was perfection! You can't go wrong with any burger they offer. I try to stop by every-time I'm in town. Service is also excellent.The beer selection is also really good. There is seating outdoors, although I sit inside because I don't want to scare pedestrians while I devour my burger. Went here for lunch recently and was sadly disappointed. BRGR used to have one of my favorite truffle fries, but when I went back they had changed them! They used to be thin and perfectly crispy but now they are thicker and not as crispy. My friend also agreed that the fries were not very good anymore. We've come in a few times just to grab a drink if we're in the area, other times we've eaten a quick dinner. You should get 'em.) and the Funky Chicken sandwich. I'm super picky about burgers and the one time that I got one here, it was good.... BUT their Funky Chicken is by far one of the yummiest chicken sandwiches you can get in town. It's a fried chicken sandwich with a sriracha mayo, shredded lettuce and some bomb B&B pickles. Last time we ordered the combo with truffle fries (yum), tots (already told you about these suckers) and onion rings. The onion rings are massive and I don't find them easy at all to eat. If they were probably sliced into half of the size they are, they'd be a lot better.
