He's a great worker, knowledgeable & friendly. I came across Brian and Sons when I was on Home Advisor looking to have someone come out and see why my dishwasher kept spewing water when draining. I found their response time to be quick and the technician nothing but professional. After having replaced the air gap, the disposal hose, using vinegar/baking/hot water in the dishwasher and snaking both the plastic drain hose and outgoing line, the problem was I didn't take off the safety cap on the new garbage disposal I installed. $95 for the work was a cheap lesson learned. read more

Unfortunately we had a very poor experience with this company. We contracted them to do a plumbing repair in our rental unit on September 2, 2020. I cannot speak about the quality of their work as I wasn't present in our rental when the job was performed but I do have a lot to say about how company's management handled the payment. First, we received an original quote around $8,500, however the invoice received on September 10, 2020 was for $10,800. On that day the job wasn't even close to being completed (about half way done) but we received a call from management saying that the crew will not perform any further work until the invoice is paid in full (strange business practice, have never experienced this with any other company before) When my husband said he needs some time to review the charges and perform due diligence to ensure everything looks reasonable - the owner started raising his voice and demand payment, he also said that he would put a lien on our property for a failure to pay (reminder - the job wasn't even complete yet) We received endless calls throughout the following day with demands to pay upfront. Long story short, we ended up terminating their services half-way through and hiring another company to complete the project. Also, to give a price comparison - Home Depot charges $60 per day to rent a large humidifier, while Brian and Sons charged us $195 per day. Another strange thing is the contractor's license reflected on their website #877797 is under suspension if you look it up on State License Board, but if you look up by their business name - a completely different license number comes up... incompetent management? read more

They removed all the bad reviews!!!!! DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY! It took me 2 months to write this review, I should have done it sooner. I was in desperate need of a plumbing repair in my home as We had other emergencies going on or I would have done myself. This company was the only one available to come out. They never came on time and sometimes at all, they charged for things they didn't do, they overcharged and the job was not done correctly AT ALL. When I confronted the owner Aaron, he yelled at me and was super rude! Iv renovation hundreds of homes in the past, what a scam this company! I am in the process of obtaining a lawyer and guess what Aaron, we have proof of it all. And yes they have a suspended license! If a contractor asks for money up front for anything other than something that is special ordered. RUN away. Even if it is in their right to do so nearly all contractors never ask for money upfront. These guys did this to my elderly parents and we had to fight to get back half of a $1000 deposit. read more

If I could give this company a 0 star I would. They bought supplies on credit and did not pay for them, even though their contract says "supplies included." Suppliers are now going after me, for a number of items that were not even used on my job. Their is now a lien on my house. The work was not high quality, and I had to have other plumbers come in and assess the work because I was concerned. Their own plumber said the job was a mess. The company constantly badgers you for money even though milestones were not achieved. They try to upsell you on every small change. I have remodeled a number of houses and have never had a contractor with such little integrity. All I can hope is that I can keep others from being in this position. read more

Don't walk, RUN! This company is operating with a SUSPENDED LICENSE! I found out after the fact... I was clear that both a bib and a shut-off-valve needed to be replaced. That 2 things were not working, even when I put the request in thru Home Advisor online. Right away, Brian & Sons called me and sent a tech out. The tech replaced a bib that literally costs $5 that took 5 minutes to install. I paid him before checking his work carefully. My mistake. When I when back to him and asked him why he hadn't also replaced the shut-off-valve he said it woudl be an extra $300. Talk about a scam! They quoted me one thing before they started, I accepted, and they did half the job. The tech saw that I was clearly upset. About 2 hours later the owner Aaron called me on my cell phone personally. I explained the situtation to him. He said he wanted to make things right, and that he would send another tech. No one ever came. I called Aaron the next day. Not only did he backtrack everything he said the day before, he said "well, geez lady you already signed." When I told him I had a witness that overheard everything, he proceeded to tell me that it was hearsay. That it was he said, she said. That I couldn't prove it. Really. I was scammed. It is quite incredible that I used homeadvisor.com to try to avoid unscrupulous companies like this one, and still get scammed. Read the fine print, make sure you get everything in writing before they touch any of your property, and don't pay them until you have absolutely inspected everything very carefully. Don't get distracted and fall for when the tech changes the conversation away from the job. This tech took the conversation away from the actual work and told me that he used to date a lady in the neighborhood, and that he was glad he became a plumber because he made more money than a doctor. He also shared that he couldn't wait for there to be a catastrophe somewhere so that he would be called on an emergency basis and charge whatever he wanted. I think he meant gouge. Seriously, he doesn't need to wait for an emergency, he is gouching San Diego residents already. Don't expect the owner, Aaron, or any of this company's employees to be honest or ethical. I simply requested that they honor their original quote, perform the work, and be done. Aaron said that I just wanted things for free. Wow! No, I just want you to fulfill your quote. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB in an attempt to shield other customers from being scammed like I was. It is unfortunate that I not only had to waste my time dealing with this group, and I hope that you avoid them as well and take your business elsewhere. In the end, Aaron asked me if I was given an invoice prior to accepting the quote, I told him no. He said, "I always ask my guys to do this. This is what happens when they don't." Even after his tech did not follow company policy, Aaron stood his ground, insulted me and said, "lady, good luck." I was notified by homeadvisor.com that the owner of this company discontinued being listed on their vetted ist. I notifed Home Advisor that they were operating with a suspend license. These guys are awesome. I've used them twice, once for a drainage pipe that was clogged with the longest mass of roots from a palm tree that the technician had ever seen, and the second time for a hot water heater replacement. First time I called the technician was out that morning to snake my pipe. The second time I called, they had a technician out the same afternoon when it fit my schedule. The water heater replacement was a snap since they were replacing a tank with a new tank. These guys are now my go to plumbers. read more

Guess I should have read the reviews before I used this company. I just called the office to find out why the plumber hasn't shown up yet for my RESCHEDULED appointment (from last Wednesday to today), only to find out he was doing something else and needed to reschedule again (to sometime next week). I just said no. This is ridiculous. I've had two "appointments". Why do I need to reschedule? Maybe they need to figure out how to keep an appointment. I understand when I job might run long- an hour or so. But to just not show up? And know ahead of time but not tell the customer. Ridiculous. I am a retired home builder who has built over 4,000 homes in the greater San Diego area. I used HOME ADVISOR services to assist me in locating a plumber in an effort to do a relatively small job. I have had good results in the past when I used their services. This time was completely different. In a period of eight days they sent four different plumbers to do this work. They made several promises they didn't keep, the job was way over budget, and they left the job in an extremely unsanitary condition. But after making a few attempt to get a plumber out after dinner and failing to either reach other companies or being told they would let me know if they could make it, I decided to go with Brian and Sons. I'm so glad It worked out this way. The tech "Roman" arrived in reasonable time. When he arrived we were politely greeted by the fellow. Super happy guy. You could tell he liked dealing with this kind of $#!t, literally. It was like he could see through walls and knew just what to do. He was Confident in his work, which put us at ease. Expecting something from what others had to say, I will tell you that I had nothing but a great experience. Definitely not a gouging price. You do have to understand, no one is going to make a living charging $5 for a house call in any business when it cost you more in just tire wear. I'm a mechanic and when I hear things like "he did it in 5 min it was so easy"and they get upset because they have to pay...... it looked so easy because they know what they are doing. Had a new tankless water heater installed two weeks ago. The installation and product were fine. My issue is with the followup. Aurelio asked if they could come back and pick up the water heater the next day. I told him that would be fine and they left the old unit in the driveway. Two weeks later and the water heater is still sitting on my driveway. I have texted Aurelio several times about picking it up and he always responded that he was sorry and they would get it. The last text I sent to him went unanswered. If you decide to use this company, make sure they complete the entire job before leaving. read more

Brian and Sons is one of those rarities in today's world where everyone is out to make a buck. Not so with this company. Absolutely Unbelievable Service! I was told I needed to move my gas line in order to install my new large chefs range. I Looked for a knowledgable plumber with experience in gas lines and found Brian and Sons. Here's where the story becomes truly amazing. Roman came out and carefully assessed my gas line situation and then Inspected the new range waiting to be installed. He then told me that it was fine as is and all I needed was to clean up the area around the gas line and it would work perfectly. He said it was actually situated in the perfect spot for the new range so no plumbing work was needed. I was astonished at his honesty and even asked him about another small issue I had with a hot water regulator for my master bedroom shower. He looked at it, moved a dial and presto! I now had instant hot water in my shower instead of having to wait 4 minutes for cold water to get warm. No charge for that either. I am amazed and so appreciative of the integrity and professionalism of Roman and Brian and Sons Plumbing. He is my hero and definitely my go to Plumber in the future. read more
