The restaurant is open and clean. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable about their menu. Bloody Mary had great flavor without being too spicy, and included a piece of pickled okra! Brick & Spoon is part of the new age of diner-style restaurants in every way from their open dining area and perfect lighting for photo (no matter where you sit) to the gorgeous menu full of delicious descriptions that make you want to try EVERYTHING!!! If we'd had more time in the area, I would have probably given this place a second visit simply because so many things sounded amazing on the breakfast and brunch menu. However, for what food we did try, there was room for improvement. THE FOOD Maybe it's just a cultural thing or maybe it's because I have a wife and mother who cook amazing breakfasts, but I wasn't impressed with my meal here. I just want to find a restaurant that seasons their food so well there is no need for me to add, salt, pepper or anything else to enhance it. I can appreciate that the KILLER CREOLE OMELET was nicely cooked and perfectly fluffy, or that the BANANAS FOSTER FRENCH TOAST was presented well. But somehow neither were as good as I was hoping for them to be and the CHEESE GRITS were average at best. In retrospect I should have gone with the Crab Benny, the Chicken Florentine, the Shrimp n' Grits or the Corn Crab & Sweet Pepper Crepe. Everything sounded delicious and I was so torn over what to order, but my gut craving told me to order Benny and I should have followed its lead. THE ATMOSPHERE Pigeon Forge is a touristy town, so I doubt very many of the diners in this fully packed eatery were locals. That alone creates a bit of an electric atmosphere as people are more energetic and lively when on vacation, or at least we are. The restaurant has a simple décor and is brightly lit from all the recessed lighting and bounty of windows, making vibrant food photos easy to take. Staff was friendly, floors and tables were very clean, but the seats did feel a little snug. FINAL THOUGHTS I will admit that sometimes buyers remorse can make a meal seem less appealing at the time than it actually was in reality. I saw pancakes delivered to a nearby table the size of a car tire and suddenly I wanted them far more than my Bananas Foster. Something about the aftertaste was not appealing and a stack of buttery, syrupy pancakes may have hit the spot much better. Also, I was truly craving the Crab Benny, but let our server talk me into the Killer Creole Omelet. It is for these reasons I would be more than willing to give them another try even though I thought the food was just okay on this visit. 3.5 stars overall. 2020 / 86 read more

We're retired. Suffice it to say we've had our share of wonderful breakfast places, but this was the best we've ever had, period! My wife had the banana caramelized French toast and I had the stuffed French toast. We shared a bit from each other and we both agree that each dish is beyond outstanding! As soon as you walk in you get the vibe this is the place to be. And if I was local this would 100% be my breakfast spot. The omelet was super fluffy and full of cheese. The pancake was seriously the size of the entire plate...and that's the kids pancake. It's just 1 big pancake but it's Super good Grilled Cheese was fantastic! Packed with cheese, egg, tomato and bacon on grilled sour dough, YUM! Cheese Grits = YES and they're tasty! Bloody Marry is huge and they have all kinds of breakfast drinks just in case you want to tie one on early in the day. I would have gone 5 stars on this one but i personally think they use Frozen biscuits. Same texture and same taste as frozen biscuits. Don't get me wrong the gravy was packed full of flavor but the biscuits didn't hold a candle to say Cracker Barrel. Honestly, they were the only thing we didn't care for, almost the exact same biscuit that they serve at KFC...so if you like those then maybe you will like this one. Found this place under the outdoor seating tab on Yelp so we decided to try it. Come to find when we get here, they don't have a server for outside so we had to sit inside, which was a bummer. The employees were wearing masks on and off. I was seated where I could see into the kitchen and the cooks were not wearing masks which made me feel uneasy. And the servers would pull them down in the kitchen but wear them on the floor. They also weren't seating every other table. So they get a 5/10 on their COVID guidelines from me. The food however was pretty good. The crab cake Benedict my sister ordered was delicious. I opted for the breakfast tacos which were not as great. But the fries were a 10/10.
