We were very impressed with Brick Street HVAC for their professionalism in installing our heat pump. Brick Street HVAC installed our heat pump in June 2026. We hired them through Home Depot. Their manager, Brian, came out early to give us an estimate for the work. He was highly proficient and sincere and offered us a very reasonable price. He scheduled the work within a week, at our convenience. On the day of the scheduled work, two young crew members (Marlon and Austin) punctually arrived around 8:00 am. While Austin took care of the work on the outside unit, Marlon worked on the inside unit. Marlon (with Brian's help) came up with a tricky scheme to install the air handler's drainage pan since it was over a pit in our basement. Their entire work was incredibly well organized and was conducted with a focus on cleanliness. Another Brick Street team member explained to us the working of our Honeywell Home thermostat using Wi Fi. Another Brick Street team member (Roger) came out later on to conduct a quality check of the completed work. We have noticed how quiet the new Carrier brand unit is, and how evenly it heats/cools. Hopefully, it will also help with an immediate drop in our energy bills. Our sincere thanks to Brick Street HVAC and Home Depot for a job completed so well. read more

Although, your message to me said to call you if I wish "NOT" to keep the appointment; instead of I needed to call to confirm or you would cancel my appointment. Please see the attached photo for your reference as my phone does translate to text your voice call. This company made me wait a week and a half to come back out after the initial visit failed to correct the leak under my bath tub. Julie, on the day of the appointment, cancels my appointment and is unsympathetic, rude, and blaming you for the problem is just bad for customer service. I mean, seriously, you literally told me to call if I wish "NOT" to make the appointment. That means, since I wanted the appointment, I did not have to call...right Julie? Or, maybe if you require people to confirm appointments, do not send a reminder message that does not include "Call us to confirm". I waited almost a week for service from Brick Street, only to have them call on the morning of the service, and within the arrival time to inform me the plumber had an emergency and it would now be next Monday. This occurred on a Wednesday. This is so unacceptable. My issue was a main and only household shower. And Brick Street had one appointment on Monday so she was doing me a big favor here. I hung up and called AHS, who sadly could do no better. I am beginning to think these vendors give discounted pricing to home warranty companies and then give their full paying customers first appointments. I was assigned these guys via my home warranty. They couldn't come to my house for 6 days. On the day of the appointment I was given a 8am-5pm window. I called and asked for a closer ballpark. She wouldn't give me anything besides "he'll call when he is 30 minutes away." I asked to know how many jobs were ahead of me or anything so I could plan my day...nope I was told they can't do that. I had a plumbing service request with AHS for a pipe leaking in my ceiling. I was a bit apprehensive when I read the reviews here but I have to say, that I have nothing but high marks for this company based on my personal experience. They reached out promptly soon after the request was assigned to them. I missed the call but when I called back the lady who answered was very pleasant and helpful. She worked to get me on the schedule that day and answered all my questions. The technician Gerson called me 30-35 minutes ahead of arriving to let me know he was on his way as I was told he would. He arrived on time and was very professional and courteous. I was also very impressed and thankful that he brought shoes covers and put them on before entering the house. He was knowledgeable, protected the work area with a blanket and replaced the leaking pipe in minimal time. He was able to address some concerns I had about other potential leaks developing elsewhere given the nature of this current issue. Once he was finished, he tested and observed to make sure the leak was resolved. He cleaned up the work area and the area was clean even though he had to cut drywall to get to the pipes. Absolutely the worst. Was contracted out by AHS, they're never on time even though they give you a 4-8 hour window. They have been no shows on multiple occasions that left me waiting for 5-6+ hours for no one to show up. One incident, I was told by the scheduler he was running late and would be here after 4.. at around 530 I reached out again with no response until the next morning where they were told technician said he stopped by at 6pm (2 hours after the 12-4 window) and said no one was home. It was a complete lie, I was sitting in my living room waiting until 7pm waiting for them and was home all night. Waited around the next day, the hot water heater was replaced. Next morning... no hot water. Called again, they were supposed to come out, went 4 days with no hot water. The day he was scheduled to come out I waited 7 hours. I called around 530/6 and got no answer. He arrived at 7pm and said he didn't know he had to come out. He "fixed it" and left. I have hot water, but i can't even take a 10 min shower without it having to be turned to the hottest temperature and it going cold. They also came out to fix a leak behind my refrigerator wall. First guy showed up, didn't do anything because he didn't have any parts and was supposed to schedule to come out to fix it. He closed the ticket saying he fixed it. Called again, they said the service had been completed and had to explain to them he didn't touch or do anything. They sent another technician out who was clearly irritated with the other technician and was threatening to fire him for not doing his job. I told him the leak was BEHIND the wall, He replace the refrigerator line (on a brand new fridge that wasn't leaking) and put a new valve on the water line and left. A week later I noticed my floors were warped and water was coming through. I moved my fridge and where he had cut the drywall, was soaking wet and had mold on the inside. Went down to my crawl space and there was a huge puddle of water underneath where the wall is upstairs behind the fridge and the insulation was soaked and discolored. Called again, the technician I had the first time came out and said the valve wasn't tight enough. I asked about the damages and he said he would submit everything for someone to come out and inspect the damages they caused and should be getting a call within a week. No one reached out. Over a week ment by and I kept tripping over my warped floors, closer inspection, there was water seeping through again. Another ticket through AHS was submitted and they tried arguing with me about it because the ticket was saying it had been closed since December with no issues. And I had to explain to them that the technician closed it out saying work was completed when it wasn't. They scheduled me an 8 1/2 hour window to come out today. I said I wasn't waiting all day and they needed to be here first thing this morning no later than 9am. they said they understood and it wouldn't be a problem. I am writing this review at 945 am. I have called customer service multiple times with no answer. My kitchen floors are completely ruined and I'm sure the subflooring isn't in good shape along with the moldy drywall, insulation and whatever other unseen damage there is. If I could give no stars I would. Ruth in their office is by far the rudest person I have ever encountered. Technician arrived on Tuesday after we noticed discolored drywall. He cut a hole in the ceiling and in our master bathroom, he coudn't determine the source and asked me to fill the tub and leave it, saying he would return on Friday. It s Friday, they have not come back out, the front office refuses to reschedule. They have left us with 2 holes in the house, an active leak, and they have collected their payment from our insurance company!!!! Absolute criminals. DO not let them into your home!!! read more

I have an American Home Shield plan and contacted AHS on Monday about a leaking faucet. Brick Street called me within 20 minutes, apologized for not being able to come out the next day, and said a plumber could be out Wednesday to fix. I told them it wasn't an emergency. They said it would be between 8 am and 4:30 pm and they would call 1/2 hour before. On Wednesday, I got a text from the plumber at about 11:30 am, saying he would be here in about an hour. He texted back and asked me to take a picture of the faucet (which I thought was a good idea so he would know what he needed before arriving). I got another text about an hour later and he arrived at 1:00 pm. He offered to replace the unit as opposed to fix it. He said he wasn't sure if he had the right replacement cartridge and it could take weeks to get one and then he'd have to come back. He had brought with him a builder's grade faucet (selling at Home Depot for $30 retail) and we said fine. He replaced the unit and all works fine for now. He showed us some mold that was present from the leak and suggested we hit it with some bleach. He didn't silicone around the new unit, which I understand (I found this out later) is suggested, but not required. Overall, he did the work quickly, efficiently and cleaned up after himself. He was courteous. I have no complaints with the service, and I think the new unit will work fine. AHS includes a 30-day warranty period for the work. So I'll check it from time to time. (It's not our main bath.). There are lots of one-star reviews for this place and I thought I'd add my two cents, keeping in mind that my issue was pretty straightforward. And the 8:00 am - 4:30 pm window seems a bit much these days, but the timing worked out in this case. He asked me to sign a bill for $160, which I assume is what they will be billing AHS for the service call and new faucet. I paid only the AHS service call to AHS. read more

I wish I could give 0 stars, but I could not. American Home Shield sent out a technician. The positive is that he was really nice and gave me confidence in his knowledge of my tankless water heater. The negative, he did not open the water heater up nor did he look at the error codes. Instead, he asked me if it had any error codes that came up. I told him I saw one once but instead of going back in the history to see what it was, he reported to AHS that the problem was a dirty heat exchange and it was due to my negligence. He requested a complete rebuild of the tank or replacement (I still don't know what was reported because I never saw the report or what he did). After AHS denied the claim, I called Brick Street to ask what they told AHS and they quickly informed me there was nothing they could do. Out of frustration, I did a quick ChatGPT and learned how to check the error codes and found that they all say it is a faulty ignitor switch. They may have some things that can fix, but it is definitely not a tankless water heater. read more

I found their services through The Home Depot. The technician attached the pressure tank to the wall missing the wood studs. As a result both screws went through the wall and damaged the ceramic tile in the bathroom on the other side. After discovering the damage I promptly contacted the salesperson to report the issue. She assured me that she would inform the General Manager about the situation. I appreciated her quick response and willingness to help. I also sent pictures of the broken tile to show the extent of the problem. I have not received any communication from the General Manager or any other representative of Brick Street Plumbing. Have had several interactions with them through AHS. Wouldn't work with them otherwise. The techs have been a mixed bag. Ex: second technician I had come out (Mark) to replace a sump pump was great but the third technician I had come out to replace a water heater left dirty rags in my bushes and wasn't great about clean up (besides mud, screws and bolts left around floor). He was probably in a rush because they messed up the appointment time (see below). As other reviews show, their back office on the other hand seems like a dumpster fire. Very disorganized. Worst of all the contractors I have worked with through AHS. They will just ghost you on messages/voicemails, while also telling you they can't do anything about a major problem because only one person is capable of answering the question and they don't start work until 11am (WHAT?!). For one of my appointments, they showed up four hours before the actual window that was communicated to me. I had to rearrange my work schedule to make it onsite so our leaking unit could actually get repaired. Lost a sales lead because of the meetings I had to cancel. Thanks guys! read more

Absolutely terrible. They are all very rude. I was introduced to them by Home Depot for a water heater replacement. They charged my card without my approval of the work. They forgot to install the appropriate parts. They had to come back again to fix it. Since I had also had them do toilet rebuilds preventatively. All flushes malfunctioned after their visit. In one of the water just does not go down when you flush and they came back twice to fix it and they made it worse each time. Hire someone else. Do not trust them. read more

I'm always optimistic when choosing the best service. Despite having many bad reviews i figured i would give them the benefit of doubt. Needless to say, the outcome was exceptional. I was introduced to Brick Street through Home Depot. The pricing was just right. I had previously gotten a quote from Michael & Sons for over 3k for this work. Mark was my technician to replace and install my new water heater. This man cares about his job and his work ethic truly lived up to every home owners standard. I will be more than happy if every technician was like him. I'm very happy with the work he completed as well as Miss Cristy for being very responsive through the process. I do recommend this business, give them the benefit of doubt like i did. And i truly hope Mark will be able to train future employees (the quality of work and kindness he has is exceptional) and continue to be the face of this company. read more

Very bad business ! American Home Shield sent them out for my hot water tank.. I needed my elements replaced and they wrote an estimate stating my house isn't up to code and I need pipes replaced and an expansion tank added. I have an expansion tank already attached to the right side of my tank (which let me know they didn't even examine/look). And I called the county office to inq if my house was up to code on piping (considering I just bought the house 5 yrs ago); they told me this wasn't the first time they're hearing of this company telling someone that their house isn't up to code. American Home Shield nor myself could get in contact with them for a second opinion (or even if I wanted to pay the $800 they were charging) so I ended up getting another company to come out who changed my elements and replaced the anode rode. Home warranty assigned them to repair a faucet issue. They had to replace the faucet and in the process of replacing the faucet: severely scratched my solid surface counters and cracked the sink. Spent months attempting to converse with Rob, the general manager, via text. After approx 10 texts over a 3 month period and 20 unanswered calls, Rob told me in writing they'd cover a portion of new counters and sink to replace the damaged ones, which I thought was fair. But then when I attempted to collect, non responsiveness again. I will be now be opening a claim in small claims court and reporting this vendor to the NC State Board of Examiners. I strongly discourage anyone from using them with the strongest possible terms. Stay away. read more

Mary was my contact person and she did coordinate the install well. The installer totally messed up my floor on the way out and was promised that it would be fixed soon. It's been two months with two sets of dates and two sets of cancellations. I requested that a manager call me and was told that someone will. And I never heard back. I will be calling and speaking with Home Depot and BBB. The least that any company in the marketplace to earn my business and take my hard earned money can do is be communicative. They were sent by home warranty company, AHS, to fix a slow drain issue and they ended up cracking the bottom of my bathroom sink. The plumber blatantly lied in my face about causing the damage and walked out, leaving me with a broken and completely unusable sink. After initially refusing to take responsibility and quoting me over $800 for a new sink, they finally admitted their mistake after a frustrating back-and-forth. It then took them over a month and four separate visits just to replace the sink properly they broke. Throughout the process, they acted as if they were doing me a favor. Their incompetence turned a minor issue into over a month-long nightmare. The only positive was one responsive staff member, but that's not enough to make up for the terrible service. Blatant and dishonest company. Sent by the warranty company for a couple of repairs. For a clear case of wear and tear, the tech sent updates as customer abuse and had the audacity to send estimates over $1000. Collect the service charge then bet on customers to pay more. Customer service is useless, instead of listening or explaining how they arrived to the diagnosis/estimates, they like to hang up their phones. Would NOT recommend them. If you are working with warranty company and they get assigned, have it reassigned to other vendors. Worse case request second opinion. read more

We were concerned about the low water pressure at our property coming from our well and had a company come out and tell us we needed our water pressure tank replaced and a new water heater. They quoted us $7400 to replace everything. We then decided to call our home warranty company (American Home Shield) to see if these items were covered. I was referred to Brick Street Plumbing through my warranty company. I was concerned initially from bad reviews I read about them but it wasn't as bad as I was expecting although there were some communication issues. The tech came out and assessed the situation and told us he would talk to his supervisor because "he wasn't familiar with wells". We received approved service request from AHS and scheduled the work. When I saw the service request estimate it only had water heater, nothing about the pressure tank. I asked both AHS and Brick Street to confirm that they were doing the pressure tank as well as the water heater and they each confirmed that "yes, the pressure tank was covered" I even sent them a photo of the pressure tank but got no response after that. When the next tech came out to do the work I asked if he was doing the pressure tank as well and he said they don't do that, he was only here to do the water heater. I told him no problem I would take it up with AHS. Well, the tech was only here about 10 minutes before he had to leave to go to Home Depot to get a new water heater because the one he brought was too big to fit in our cellar. I blame the first tech for this for not communicating the correct size needed when he came out. Once the tech came back from Home Depot he got right to work and was done quite quick. After all this I tried communicating with Brick Street about the pressure tank and they said I would need to open another ticket with AHS to do that. So I did but then they text me back saying they were going to call them and see if I could do it on the same ticket. I told them it was already too late I had contacted AHS to put in another ticket. AHS assigned a different plumber to come out and check the pressure tank so there was no further contact with Brick Street. If I could give ZERO stars I would. Brick Street accepted the job to fix the leak in my bathroom via AHS (American Home Shield) on June 5, 2025, and scheduled an appointment on June 7, 2025. The plumber that showed up, Brendan, was timely, friendly, and said he couldn't fix the issue as a part had to be ordered. He said "Ms. Julie" would call me on Monday to reschedule and I could request him. "Ms. Julie" called and scheduled the appointment for June 12. No one showed up. I called all day, couldn't get thru. Of course after business hours I got voicemail and left a message. To date, (06/18/2025) no has returned my call. I submitted a request for contact via their website also on 06/12/2025 - no response. I called the office 8:30'ish on Friday, 06/13/2025, and "Ruth" wanted to argue with me about the 06/11 date in my AHS app vs the 06/12 service date in their system. I responded that the issue at hand should be the no show of their company's plumber and the lack of respect their company has for a customer to not call and apologize for unprofessional behavior. When I requested a manager, "Ruth" relied nonone available and she would have "Ms. Mary" return my call. When I asked was "Ms. Mary" a manager or supervisor, "Ruth" replied, "No, she's the person I go to with questions and help because she's been here a long time." As of this review, 06/18/2025, at 11:44a, "Ms. Mary" has not returned my call. No one from Brick Street Plumbing as bothered to return my call. This company obviously is unconcerned with providing professional and respectful service to customers. I purchased a water heater from Home Depot and they subbed out BrickStreet plumbing to install. The technician, a licensed plumber, installed the hot water heater without leaving any room to open the humidifier. Despite my wife informing him to leave room, one would think that a licensed plumber would know. Still installed with an issue. I had my local service provider check all my systems, but he was unable to inspect the humidifier because he couldn't open the cover since the tank was installed too close. I left 3 voice mails and never got a response. I decided to attempt to resolve one more time before going direct to Home Depot customer service and got Cristy on the phone. She told me she would discuss with her manager and get back to me. 4 days later, I followed up with her, and she said that her manager said it would be $800 to move the heater 5" to the right. I indicated that it should've been installed properly the first time. I also indicated that I left 3 voicemails previously and didn't get any call backs. I asked her to have her manager call me to discuss. Never got a call. 3 days later, I check in with her again and she told me that she passed the message on and that he's not going to call me and there's no discussion. $800 to fix the mistake they made. So, before I deal directly with Home Depot, I wanted to post this review and pictures. I now see why this company has a 1-1/2 star rating with the general public. Like many other AHS customers, I was assigned Brick Street Plumbing to replace my failed water heater. After days of waiting for Brick Street to send AHS the assessment and recommendation to replace, a non-itemized bill was what AHS gave back ($2,500 approx.) charges - water line and gas line modification, and a number of (Addl. non-covered costs). Not per code, etc. End result - many of the listed repairs were not even completed, but demand was to pay half the day before, and they charged the other 50% without my approval, and have refused to refund overcharge on items not replaced (the repair person told me they were reusing the gas line and exhaust hood - but guess what, they claim they were valid costs to invoice. AHS will support whatever Brick Street says was done, BBB contacted. I would advise any AHS customers to ask for a different vendor, they charge (made up repairs) that are not completed. Now the pilot with hot water heater won't stay on and can't get them to return call. If they come to do work, be prepared for a total cost with no breakdowns of charges - and demand for payment a week after your applicance fails. It's all a pressure tactic to get the customer to pay to restore services. Local plumber would have done my job for $600 under what Brick Street charged, and that is with purchase of water heater that AHS supposedly paid them for. read more

After a month of failed attempts to fix my leaky toilet by myself, I gave up and contacted AHS. They assigned Brick Street Plumbing to my problem and I got a call from them early the next day. Kenny came out within the window of time that they gave me, was polite, friendly, and professional. He diagnosed the problem quickly, had the part he needed to complete the repair and gave me good advice on my plumbing in general.
