I've been to this place many times now. When they first opened, the service was pretty slow. But that hasn't happened to me over my last five or six visits, one of which was a large group, so it seems like things have gotten straightened out. Okay, the pizza. It's excellent. Thin crust-style, crispy and chewy at the same time -- the way it's supposed to be. I believe their sausage and pepperoni are made in house. And the beer. It's solid. I've never had a beer here that was bad, which is more than I can say for pretty much every other brewery in town. As for the individual beers: their Pale Ale seemed to be a clone of Sierra Nevada Pale Ale and that's not a bad thing at all; they made a Perle Pale Ale this fall which is quite nice; the Roughrider Red is probably their best beer -- it's just solid; their Porter nails the style exactly as does the 60 Shilling. I'd also like to give this place kudos for making a dunkelweizen, you don't see those every day (unless you're in Munich or something). I would like to see a consistent beer menu, on my most recent visit none of the beers I listed were available. read more

Good place to have a locally brewed beer, prices are OK, pizza was very good, and they have a live band on Wednesdays...I'm picky about live bands, but I enjoyed their music and the decibel level was not overwhelming for how small the place is. Do be warned that parking sucks and there is a 3 beer maximum!! read more

Went here with some friends for a bite to eat. The people here are great, very friendly and great personalities. Our waitress made a mistake, bit I can't complain much since we ended up getting a free large pizza out of it. What a great asset to MSU! A short walk to tasty pizza and affordable brews. The veggie pizzas (Triceratops and wild mushroom) needed a little more flavor, like the hot pepper flakes on the table, but were generously topped and attractive. Stopped here to try a few beers while in town for the night. The restaurant was packed so we sat at the bar and ordered a flight of everything they had on tap. Service was pretty terrible and it was a fight to try and get the bartender's attention the whole time we were there. The beers were OK but I would consider a full pour of maybe only 1 or 2 out of the 8 I think we tried. Didn't order any food but everyone around us got the pizza so maybe we should have gone with that instead of beer! read more

surprised that when we went at 805pm we couldn't be served a beer. very strange that they don't have a liquor license and it was a big disappointment for us. the beer dip was OK, but the items around the dip could have been better for 9 bucks. The pizza was split into farm to fig and a veggie one named after a dinosaur. The crust tasted like cardboard and the only flavor was in the fig jam. Amazing place and experience. Had one of my favorite meals with lamb sausage pizza and a sampler of the bears. A couple flavors that should not be missed are the Dust White Ale (incredibly smooth with a hint of cucumber that I would drink all day long) and a champagne style "sour" beer that is amazing with the food as it resets the palate after every bit so the flavors are fresh each bite. Great people, great prices, and a place that should not be missed if one is in Bozeman! I plan to visit everytime I am in town. read more

I'm a fan of their porters and stouts. Good for a casual hangout, and sometimes they have live music. Can be really busy since it's across from campus, pretty popular!
