Paired with an Iceburg Lettuce Wedge, Blue Cheese salad and a side of Clam Chowder made a wonderful meal. Steak tips for an appetizer and Carrot Cake for desert made for a meal meant for a king. (It was my Birthday) They have a huge wine list to pair with your meal. Ricco was our server and he was amazing. The ambience is casual, but classy. If you arrive without a reservation, you may have an hour+ wait, especially on the weekend. This place closes early, so plan accordingly. On Friday, there was a piano player adding to the ambience. We came here at 10:30 AM on Sunday morning, right when they opened. We were given a table with an amazing view of the bridge and the water while we enjoyed our coffee. While we waited for our meal, we were offered a strawberry muffin with housemate lemon curd. This was so good without being too sweet! It is hard to beat a fresh muffin. Finding the Bridgewater Bistro was an accident and a wonderful find. Great atmosphere looking over at the Astoria Bridge. Made a reservation on OpenTable. Arrived about 15 mins early. Was not an issue. Was seared in a booth that I had requested Waitress soon came over and took our orders. She made sure that my wives food allergy was noted for the chef. She also made note of my dad's hate for condiments. Food arrived, was delicious. The fish and chips are probably the best I've had. We all agreed it was pricy, the gentleman at the front of restaurant overhead and when my mom went to pay, he had given her a discount. I tried out the watermelon soda for something different and it was light and refreshing. Not too sweet either. I opted for the peach spring mix salad with goat cheese, pecans with a pleasant peach vinaigrette. With the moist grilled chicken, the side salad size was just right. Ripped off!!! If I go to a nice establishment, and the food I ordered vs the cost is shameful. The Albacore tuna on the sandwich was a paltry 3oz smear of tuna spread so thin it couldn't cover the bread it was on. I had a French dip. Loaded with chunks of grisle and again about 3oz of meat on a small chibatta roll. The pop was flat. I asked for a coke. Was told they only had Pepsi. When I mentioned the flat soda I was brought a can of Coke!!! Which is what I requested to begin with. We arrived at 1230. The dining room was busy and they were short staffed. Waitstaff was running around and absent after the food got set at the table. 61 bucks out the door. I reluctantly left a 5 dollar tip. I will never go back again. I had been here several years ago and recommended it to my husband and mother-in-law the day after we got married as a cute lunch. We got there at 1:30 on a Sunday and waited for about 15-20 minutes to be seated which was to be expected on a Sunday. We were seated and it took several minutes for our waitress to check in on us, even longer to get our drinks and waters. We were ready to order for about 10 minutes before she came to check on us and she was extremely impatient and a little snappy while we were ordering. We waited for about another 40ish minutes to get our food and it was actually really good, I had the chili prawns and clam and mussel chowder. She came back to refill our water and she filled one glass full, one half and didn't fill mine at all and I had an empty glass. She came and gave us our bill and had asked us to pay then, which was fine. The entire process took over 2 hours which is insane to me since we ordered 2 rounds of drinks and entrees but nothing else. Our server was a little rude and it took forever to get out of there so if you're in a hurry, I'd recommend finding somewhere else. read more

We had the roasted brussel sprouts (appetizer assessment of this dish is ongoing) and they were one of the best yet. Crunchy outside but not over-fried and the combo of sesame and nuts really worked! We had hoped to try the lunch menu but were told that since it was Mother's Day, ordering from the regular menu was not an option and they had sold out of multiple dishes from the already limited menu. I would have given a higher rating if it wasn't for the dish I ordered. My brother ordered a Halibut dish which looked great and he loved it. Mine was the Moroccan chicken which was ok but not impressive. My biggest complaint was the rice, it was mush and I'm not sure it wasn't intentional in order to represent Moroccan in style. The chicken was more like a pulled chicken. The chicken was good and spicy but the rice was detracting from the overall dish. The ambiance was warm and bright. Although the service and drinks were good, the food was not. The $48.00 special - pesto pasta with scallops and shrimp - was absolutely lackluster. The scallops and prawns were cooked well, they had absolutely no seasoning and were haphazardly thrown in the pasta. Not only was the entire dish horribly presented, especially at the price point, the pasta / pesto was inedible. I took about 3 bites and couldn't eat anymore. The pasta was gummy, the pesto didn't have any flavour, it was dry and the small amount of cheese was not Parmesan and it wasn't even melted, the pasta was luke warm. My daughter ordered the $22.00 creamy Alfredo pasta - she had 1 bite and wouldn't eat anymore. Again, gummy pasta, no creaminess, no presentation and absolutely no flavour - it tasted like chalky, gummy, cheap cheese lemon pasta. I'm not sure if this is normal for the restaurant but both of our pasta component of the dishes were not edible. read more

Yum, I really enjoyed this place. I had the blood orange margarita and a gin drink. We shared the tomato bruschetta which was really tasty and the crab cheesecake which was basically a quiche. I had the bouillabaisse for dinner. It had a tasty sauce. It was loaded with seafood including clams, mussels and salmon. I sampled the duck which was really delicious with a very tasty sauce. I made a reservation several weeks in advance, and requested a window table because it was my birthday and my father was coming from Louisiana to celebrate it. Honestly, I was more worried about making the night special for my 88 year-old father flying a log distance than I was worried about my birthday. I received a response assuring me that we would have a window table in honor of my birthday. When we arrived, we were not given a window table. When I asked about that, I was told that we would have to wait--and it was said in a way that made it sound like a very long wait--if we wanted a window table, and we were basically told that we should be happy with the view we had from the (non-window) table we were given. It turned out that two tables turned over relatively quickly, but who knows whether or not we would have been given one of those tables. I even wonder whether the greeter read our reservation--two other tables had birthdays, and received sparklers. I did not. Honestly, I didn;t care. As I said, I was more concerned about being able to show my father a wonderful evening--like a business person might hope to show their client a nice evening. The negative beginning of being seated incorrectly and then given misleading information about a wait set a very bad tone for the evening. After that, the food was OK, but except for the pan-fried oysters (which were great), the food was rather mediocre (even the scallops and filet mignon). Prior to coming here plenty of reviews raved about the view next to their menu. Be sure to make a reservation ahead of time for lunch/dinner for prime seating. We had a wonderful window table and got to enjoy the view. I really loved the decor of the place with the very open ranch style feel with the high ceilings and open beams throughout the place. The fireplace right int the middle and pianist during dinner set the mood and made it feel so welcoming. As for the food, we got the smokey mac (side), cup of hungarian mushroom soup, filet mignon with grilled prawns, and lamb cheeks rioja. I probably would not get the smokey mac next time as it didn't mesh that well for flavors for my taste buds. The mushroom soup was nice to try since I don't see that on menus often. Filet was a solid option but would not get the prawns as an addition next time. For a more savory and deep flavor the lamb cheeks are a great option. Overall the mains were paired well with the sides and had good flavors. I can see why this is a local and visitor favorite. Best oyster shooter ever, great beverage selection to boot. I enjoyed a small Caesar salad - while it was good and I enjoyed it, you should know the dressing is less Caesar and more creamy garlic. I asked for extra hoping it would bring the salad towards the Caesar flavor profile and it just was not quite a match. Two other noses agreed with me on this one, as well. I really need to introduce the kitchen staff to my friend Morton. Morton knows everything about salt and could enhance the taste of their food. Everything was bland. The calamari appetizer was undercooked and bland. We tried their chowder, it was good but again needed salt. We also had the Cesear salad and I believe they make the dressing in house because it wasn't good and was an unusual take on Cesar dressing.
