We were there tonight for happy hour and sat at bar where a female customer had her dirty purse and sweaty old hat on the bar top. She was taking up two spots at the bar because of purse and hat placement. So, patrons eating and drinking at the bar had to have this view while eating and drinking. She left and I asked the bartender why they would allow her to put purse and nasty hat on the bar and she said well the lady comes in 3-4 times a week and they don't know what to do. It's unsanitary and disgusting! They need to require hats and bags to be held in lap or on the floor! Problem solved read more

I told my manfriend that I wanted to eat out at a restaurant (feeling stuck at home). He took me to Brigantine on Coronado Island, CA. According to their website, Brigantine is known for their San Diego-style Surf & Turf. Owned by Morton Family (first Brigantine was opened in 1969 in Shelter Island, San Diego, CA). I visited Brigantine on a Sunday (brunch time) back in April 2021 (I know - late review) and sat in their outdoor seating area. I tried the following: - Cocktail (Spa Day) - Raw Oysters - Crab Cake Benedict - Coconut Macadamia Crusted French Toast (this was more like a dessert) Delicious. This was my first time visiting one of the Brigantine franchises. The restaurant is very spacious and is great for large parties. For our visit, we ordered the following off the happy hour menu: - Oyster shooters - Raw oysters - Brig clam chowder - Batter fried white fish sandwich Off the regular dinner menu, we got the Louie crab & shrimp sandwich. Personally, I did not care for the raw oysters. They were too big and too creamy. I normally love raw oysters, bit did not enjoy these at all. The brig clam chowder was a bit too creamy and barely had any clams. It was at most a potato chowder. The fried fish sandwich was good, the fish was crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. The Louie crab and shrimp salad was the best thing we ordered. The veggies were very fresh and the large plate came with a generous serving of crab and shrimp. I definitely recommend this! Amazing marinated swordfish! We had the steamed clams appetizer, very good. The crab stuffed shrimp was delicious, however, was wrapped in bacon so the bacon overpowered the taste. If you love bacon this is the dish! The desserts are also amazing. The wait staff very friendly, but the service a little slow. Had to ask for refills but minor inconvenience. After looking at the menu posted I thought the food looked really good. We got there around 3 pm. When looking at the menu it wasn't what I saw posted. The use a bar menu on the in between time. I was disappointed. I ended up getting the Rueben and a cup of soup. $9 for a cup is a little pricey but it was good the Rueben I was not thrilled, I don't think it was grilled at all as it was not warm and the cheese was still in its full form. Also, my soup was brought out after my sandwich, all of our soups were and they weren't hot. The fish tacos looked good but the mahi was dry. My boys said why did we just spend $10 a taco and we could have got them $3 someplace else. The prices were not justified by the food we received. The service was decent. We just returned from our first visit to the Coronado location of Brigantine. Though we visit Coronado annually, this was our first visit. We arrived around 5:20 for a 5:30 pm reservation. We were seated quickly and Monica was our server. She delivered waters and our drinks in a timely fashion. We took our time to enjoy our cocktails and peruse the menu. The dining room began to fill and we enjoyed the experience. No ocean view but a lovely ambience. Before long, Monica took our app selection, oysters Rockefeller. When they arrived, it was a nice presentation and delicious, too. She came by to take our dinner order. My husband had the shrimp stuffed tiger prawns and I ordered the halibut. His was tasty but he felt the bacon wrap overpowered the shrimp. My halibut was perfect, some delicious veggies and thin sliced potatoes as a side. We enjoyed our dinner and sat a bit. Monica brought the dessert menu and we chose to share the S'More Brownie with vanilla ice cream. Delicious and we couldn't quite finish it. Ivan, the manager, came by to check on us. Don't get out to the island much, but wanted to hit this joint so we crossed the bridge! Started out with the wedge salad, and was happy splitting it with my bride. For the main course I chose the bacon wrapped prawns. Large shrimp wrapped in crispy bacon and a nice spiced cream sauce...served with balanced veg and mashed potato. My only complaint was the shrimp were over cooked, and if you are a seafood restaurant I expect better. Good beer selection and dessert menu...I recall I liked the mud pie, and it was huge! Ambiance is seashore cabin, staff was prompt and attentive, and prices were in line with the area. Enjoyed brunch at the Brigantine Coronado before we headed home. We had the sumptuous coconut-macadamia crusted French toast and the crab-shrimps omelette. Yummy and very generous portions. Each order is enough for two to share, but we wanted to have leftovers to box home! Brigantine Coronado Beach is the favorite restaurant whenever we visit Coronado. The food is always tasty and the services always wonderful! The staff are so friendly! They're the main reason we keep coming back to Brigantine Coronado. We are at the Brigantine at least 3-4 times during our 1-week stay at Coronado. We had our 4 yr old grandson with us last year. He finished (enjoyed so much!) his burger and fries and we had fun sharing the mud pie together! We've not had anything we didn't like at the Brigantine Coronado. We enjoyed friendly chat with Ivan, the mgr, Savanna our guest server, and Carrisa, the hostess today. They all deserve 5 stars!!! We look forward to seeing them all our next visit!!! My friend picked this spot from a google search. I was a little hesitant because I saw the 3.5 stars on Yelp. The diversity of menu made me want to give it a chance. We arrived on Saturday night at around 7pm. They had ample outdoor sitting. Placed our name on waiting list and our reservation was ready in about an hour. In the meantime we walked around and got coffee at Panera. Plenty of things to visit nearby. Ambience of restaurant was good. We were sat outside facing the street. Our waitress was super sweet and knowledgeable. Thanks Heidi for all the suggestions. Pricing on drinks were reasonable. Food selection was good. We opted for seafood all around. I had the grilled swordfish and it was delicious. Probably would say more of 4 stars but my friend was super impressed so I would go 4.5 based on service and Covid19 precautions. read more

For our food we ordered: *OYSTERS - I'm very sensitive to oysters, so I only ordered a few of them just to try theirs 'coz there is a certain smell and taste of oysters that my stomach just wont take, and this one is one of them, it didn't go well with my stomach. I thought I was already okay with Oysters after eating a lot at "EDDIE V'S PRIME SEAFOOD ,the Oysters there are really good. My meal was pretty average- ordered the crab stuffed shrimp, wrapped in bacon, with crème brulée for dessert. The crème brulée was stellar but my main was not great. The bacon was too hard on the shrimp, and overall a bit too salty. Though, I think the service was really good, I think our server's name was Kate. She was sooo good, answered all our questions, gave us a good recommendations and gave us a free dessert because someone on my table didn't like their food and my veggies didn't come out with the rest of my food and I had to wait a while. Brigantine's Happy Hour starts early, at 3 PM. My wife and I decided to give it a try. There is a dedicated Happy Hour Menu on a small card, and it provides a decent variety of food and drink, all priced at $6 each. There might be a few add-on prices, too. I ordered a Brigantine Margarita and Napa Valley Nachos. Both were at best, interesting. The margarita was generously sized, but was orange! It had an overly sweet somewhat citrus taste, and was not what I would prefer a margarita to be. The nachos were different, too. The chips were extremely thin, like potato chips. They were covered with bleu cheese chunks, some melted white cheese, bacon crumbles, chives, and a huge mound of sour cream. Not your typical nachos, and not as good, either. At this point, any restaurant was worth dining into as I have been yearning for months to have anything other than takeout and delivery since lockdown was enforced. We arrived here during happy hour and sat in the lounge area. The restaurant appeared to have complied with social distancing (fewer tables, less occupancy) while at the same time all staff members had masks on most times. I ordered the clam chowder and ahi tuna slider, while the bf ordered the spicy chicken sandwich w/ fries. The new england clam chowder was subpar and could have been slightly more savory. For being a seafood restaurant and undoubtedly a popular starter course, I expected better. I do have to say that I was impressed by the ahi tuna slider, though partially overcooked. The slider was packed with the perfect amount of flavor along w/ a texture that gave you a melt in your mouth experience. The chicken sandwich came in a buffalo like sauce and was way too spicy for my liking. The bf had to remove the breading in order for him to even enjoy it. Service was a little slow considering the amount of people in the restaurant for obvious reasons, however, I will give them the benefit due to it being opening day. Went to Brigantine in Coronado this past weekend to celebrate the birthdays of our young daughter and our daughter's cousin. The food was excellent (halibut special and seared tuna). But the staff really made for a great dinner celebration. Fernando and his colleagues were terrific and were very knowledgeable and professional. When they found out that it was our daughters' birthdays, they went out of their way to make the dinner special for them including surprise birthday ice cream sundaes for both of them. I have been going to the brig for years, I always get the brig salad, I had the Brig salad today and it was awful! I ordered a side of dressing after I realized it was different to see if they changed the dressing and yes it was bland and awful. I hope someone who works there corrects whoever is making the dressing! Taco Tuesday cannot be missed (prices are incredible and portions are great) and they have a wonderfully affordable happy hour everyday. My wife and I arrived at the restaurant at 8:50pm and the restaurant closes at 9:00. We were greeted with a smile and were told that we can still place an order. Our server was Riley and she went out of her way serving us with a smile and never made us feel rushed even though by the time we place our order, it was past 9:00pm. Riley and her supervisor Ivan were just amazing. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and they went our of their way to make us us feel very special and appreciated. My Aunt and I went to dinner at the Brigantine in Coronado Beach and had a lovely meal. Our server Reily was amazing. The seafood was fresh and delicious. We also visited another location, Topsail, earlier in our trip and had a wonderful experience. To make it better, I forgot my credit card on the last night of our trip at the Coronado location and didn't realize until I was already at the airport. I called both the restaurant (spoke with Elizabeth) and the corporate office (spoke with Maureen) and they were incredibly helpful to me. I am so grateful that, even though I made the foolish mistake of leaving my card, all the employees I spoke with were kind and so helpful in rectifying the situation. Had the burger and it was alright. It Had a very small amount of onions and the meat was cold. All the bacon was in one log form on half the sandwich. I asked for no mushrooms that's all and I got ALOT of mushrooms. The fries were good. My wife had a ceaser salad with chicken the chicken was iceeeee cold. The soda was flavorless.
