Had dinner here and it did not disappoint. It was pretty busy when we stopped by on the Saturday of Fourth of July weekend. Our wait was about 45 mins. We people watched while we waited so the wait was not at all bad. We were seated outside on the patio and they had the heaters on. It felt good since it was already starting to get cold out. Our waitress came over right away and took our drink orders. She did explain to us that that week was her first week of working there and so she apologized for being a little slow and for not knowing the menu too well. We didn't mind. We ordered a few different dishes. We started with the fresh oysters as an appetizer and they came out pretty quick. Our entrees included: Clam chowder Grilled marinated swordfish Crab stuffed tiger shrimp Grilled salmon Wok charred Ahi I had the swordfish and it was sooooo good. It was perfectly seasoned and nicely paired with the broccolinis and the risotto. The clam chowder was also a hit. It was perfect for a cold evening. The stuffed tiger shrimp was delicious! Was able to sample a piece and I instantly regretted not ordering that dish. The service was great the rest of the night and the food was good. Ate here twice this month. The first time was better than than the second. First time I had the mahi mahi sandwich (I asked for the Mac nut crusted mahi and they were able to do that for me. The sand which was delicious!! The second time I got it the way it came and really didn't care for it at all. The fish didn't taste as good. My husband got the same and didn't like it. My mom got a French dip and didn't like that the bread wasn't toasted and wasn't overly impressed. Calamari appetizer was good! Seems like nice waitresses and staff. Go figure I'd go to Brigantine Seafood & Oyster Bar ................. and order a Wagyu burger. I was in the mood for a burger, and it worked. As you can see from my pic, this restaurant is on the sidewalk and we ate inside, but along the windows. It was a great people watching day. The drinks were refreshing and the skinny Margarita was good. The staff was attentive and answered our questions. The Wagyu Burger is a half-pound patty. It was a bit over cooked to order, but the seasoning and the flavor of the burger was good. Its aroma was particularly good. The rest of the burger fixings were okay. The bacon was fairly thin and the other fixings didn't have pronounced flavors: good because it didn't detract from the American wagyu burger but it also didn't necessarily enhance the burger, either. While wandering around Coronado, after a beautiful drive during the sunset hours, we stumbled upon Brigantine. We did not stick to our original plans/reservations because of the other restaurant's closing hours. We were glad Brigantine was able to seat my bf & I right away and have our monthie dinner. It was chilly after sundown even though we chose to sit outside - but the staff was very accommodating and turned on the heat lamp (early summer in July). The night was romantic and the mood was set for our dindin - we were able to see palm trees and some of the string lights across the street from Hotel del Coronado. We ordered crispy brussel sprouts and a crab & shrimp cobb half salad (which was HUGE) as starters. For our mains, we got the lobster tempura tacos & the ketch-ale brined chops. For drinks, we got the blackberry spritzer & a glass of riesling (can't remember)? The brussel sprouts were the star of the show! Super crispy and flavorful; the pork belly pieces added a nice touch of savory and sweetness to the charred brussels. The lobster tempura tacos were good - don't be intimidated by the blue-corn tortilla, very yummy and the lobster was fresh. The pork chops were better than expected for my bf & I. We aren't huge pork eaters but they were cooked perfectly with beautiful grill marks, and the mushroom sauce was the perfect pairing. We were way too stuffed and def over-ordered to make a dent in the salad but all the ingredients looked super fresh and we packed it to go (heh, wasn't that great the next day but what salad is good overnight, right?). The blackberry spritzer was made to my liking, with just enough alcohol and bubbly. Bf said the reisling recommended was sweet enough as well. *the only part we weren't satisfied with was the veggies; the carrots and string beans that accompanied our mains tasted like frozen veggies from a bag. We got our veggie intake from some of the salad we were able to fit in our bellies. Overall it was the perfect meal to celebrate our monthiversary. The bill came out to be about ~$135 including T&T. Service was super attentive and friendly! We did not feel rushed at any moment during our approximate 2-hour dining even though there was a decent amount of people. They also had a feature where you can pay by scanning the receipt and using your cc - super convenient. Highly recommend if you're exploring Coronado island and want to check out the Hotel del Coronado for a post-dinner stroll as well. read more

My family of 3 came here during lunch around 1pm on a Saturday and were seated right away. We ordered half a dozen oysters and the shrimp and crab salad for appetizers. The oysters were fresh! The salad was delicious with large, plump shrimps and crab meat. The pieces of crab were fresh but not fishy at all! For entrées, we ordered the crab cake sandwich, lobster tempura tacos, and the crab stuffed tiger shrimp. The crab cake was made of only crab meat (no extra filling) and came with coleslaw and potato chips. The lobster tacos were crispy and fresh as well! The crab stuffed tiger shrimps were wrapped with bacon on a bed of mashed potato. Service was great and atmosphere is great for a nice family lunch or nice dinner date. Highly recommend! read more

Stopped by after soaking up some sun on the beach in anticipation of filling up during happy hour. I'm no happy hour expert, but the offering here seemed pretty sweet. It took a bit of investigation to figure out if they did happy hour, what time it was, and what was on the discounted menu, but we were extremely satisfied with our experience after filling up. The happy hour menu consisted of some drinks, some small plates, and some sliders. Everything was the same price, so we got a margarita, a Moscow mule, three oysters on the half shell, the potato skins, and the ahi tuna slider. You must sit bar side to participate. In my experience, ordering oysters can be a bit of a hit or miss depending on what type of oyster is being served, but the ones here were definitely to my liking. They were a good size with a delicious balance of sweet and salty. I like to squeeze just a bit of lemon juice on top but pass on the cocktail sauce and horseradish. The ahi tuna slider definitely had strong horseradish flavor, it wasn't my favorite but not a bad option to have for happy hour. The fries that it came with were just alright, nothing special. The potato skins came with lots of cheese and sour cream, I'm a huge fan of loaded baked potatoes so I was really excited for this. The ends of the potatoes were a bit extra crispy, but again a good option for happy hour. The Moscow mule tasted very strong, whether it was the vodka or the ginger in the ginger beer or the carbonation of that I'm not sure, but not my personal favorite. I'm no personally a big fan of margaritas due to their slushy texture, but the one here was more of a liquid and more to my liking. After we polished off our happy hour choices, we decided to go for the oysters rock off the happy hour menu. These oysters came fully, fully loaded with toppings. One oyster was easily two or three bites, and while I appreciated the generosity it was just overwhelmingly rich to be enjoyable. The contrast between the warm topping and the slightly lukewarm oyster wasn't the friendliest to my stomach, so consume in moderation. I ended up taking the topping off and putting it on my potato skins instead, which made those taste extra delicious. Overall, this is a great choice for a happy hour especially if you're not looking to go far from the beach. read more

We stopped in this location for an early lunch/brunch about 11:15 while walking to the Del in Coronado. A very nice place, well decorated and welcoming. We were seated right away outside, such a beautiful day in Coronado. We ordered the crab and shrimp Cobb salad and the fish tacos. Once the food arrived, everything was great, crab and shrimp Cobb was fresh and well prepared and the fish tacos were great with a bit of hot sauce, prices are a bit elevated but to be expected on Coronado. Service was unfortunately lacking on this day. They were polite and nice but it appeared even with minimal people inside and out, the back kitchen was super slow. Drinks ordered, 15 minutes later the drinks arrived (two waters, a diet and an Arnold Palmer), different server arrived after that to take the lunch order, food arrived at the 1 hour, 20 minute mark from sitting down, we walked away after the bill a little after 1pm. Don't know what happened there maybe a bad server handoff or maybe an off day for the kitchen but the food was good nonetheless. Just give yourself some time if you are on a schedule. According to their website, Brigantine is known for their San Diego-style Surf & Turf. Owned by Morton Family (first Brigantine was opened in 1969 in Shelter Island, San Diego, CA). I visited Brigantine on a Sunday (brunch time) back in April 2021 (I know - late review) and sat in their outdoor seating area. I tried the following: - Cocktail (Spa Day) - Raw Oysters - Crab Cake Benedict - Coconut Macadamia Crusted French Toast (this was more like a dessert) Delicious. Crab cake: advertised as "lump crab"... but there was no crab. Just cheaper crab... which is fine. But don't advertise it as "Lump Crab". The cole slaw bed the crab cake was on was made with entirely too much mayonnaise. The crab cake itself had too much mayonnaise. Brussel Sprouts: dripping in oil and entirely too sweet. This ranked as the #1 worst item. After a few bites we just left it. Old fashioned: Slightly below average. Muddled with a maraschino cherry and not a Luxardo cherry? For $16, it needs to be made much better. Mai Tai: entirely too sweet. Very disappointed, as past experiences here have been good... which is why we returned. Thanks for reading. read more

For our visit, we ordered the following off the happy hour menu: - Oyster shooters - Raw oysters - Brig clam chowder - Batter fried white fish sandwich Off the regular dinner menu, we got the Louie crab & shrimp sandwich. Personally, I did not care for the raw oysters. They were too big and too creamy. I normally love raw oysters, bit did not enjoy these at all. The brig clam chowder was a bit too creamy and barely had any clams. It was at most a potato chowder. The fried fish sandwich was good, the fish was crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. The Louie crab and shrimp salad was the best thing we ordered. The veggies were very fresh and the large plate came with a generous serving of crab and shrimp. I definitely recommend this! Overall, we had a pleasant experience here. I'd say it's a borderline between a 3 and 4. Our waitress was nice, so I rounded up. read more

For the main course I chose the bacon wrapped prawns. Large shrimp wrapped in crispy bacon and a nice spiced cream sauce...served with balanced veg and mashed potato. My only complaint was the shrimp were over cooked, and if you are a seafood restaurant I expect better. Good beer selection and dessert menu...I recall I liked the mud pie, and it was huge! Ambiance is seashore cabin, staff was prompt and attentive, and prices were in line with the area. I was disappointed. I ended up getting the Rueben and a cup of soup. $9 for a cup is a little pricey but it was good the Rueben I was not thrilled, I don't think it was grilled at all as it was not warm and the cheese was still in its full form. Also, my soup was brought out after my sandwich, all of our soups were and they weren't hot. The fish tacos looked good but the mahi was dry. My boys said why did we just spend $10 a taco and we could have got them $3 someplace else. The prices were not justified by the food we received. The service was decent. We were there tonight for happy hour and sat at bar where a female customer had her dirty purse and sweaty old hat on the bar top. She was taking up two spots at the bar because of purse and hat placement. So, patrons eating and drinking at the bar had to have this view while eating and drinking. She left and I asked the bartender why they would allow her to put purse and nasty hat on the bar and she said well the lady comes in 3-4 times a week and they don't know what to do. It's unsanitary and disgusting! They need to require hats and bags to be held in lap or on the floor! Problem solved read more

My friend picked this spot from a google search. I was a little hesitant because I saw the 3.5 stars on Yelp. The diversity of menu made me want to give it a chance. We arrived on Saturday night at around 7pm. They had ample outdoor sitting. Placed our name on waiting list and our reservation was ready in about an hour. In the meantime we walked around and got coffee at Panera. Plenty of things to visit nearby. Ambience of restaurant was good. We were sat outside facing the street. Our waitress was super sweet and knowledgeable. Thanks Heidi for all the suggestions. Pricing on drinks were reasonable. Food selection was good. We opted for seafood all around.
