These folks are really trying their best. The have a good selection of booze. The bbq was lacking though. Many of my dudes can bake a better beast. Service was a little overbearing. Ambiance was Nashville swill. $$$

Visited this location for an event so we didn't get to check out their bourbon selection but their menu was quite impressive. We did order food and tried the fried pickles along with the brisket and the pulled chicken which all had nice flavor. The service was great and we visited on a night with live music which was really enjoyable!

I have no complaints about Bristol Republic. Located in Short North, I was surprised by the available parking but we also came on a Saturday morning for brunch so it may be a different story at peak dining hours. We got the Brisket & eggs and the cowboy benedict. The brisket on both was super tender and I love their cornbread--a fun and clever spin on a typical eggs benedict. Also, their potatoes are perfectly crispy and salted. If I come back, I'd want to try their french toast with maple bourbon syrup. The staff was friendly and the entire restaurant was clean. Overall, a very pleasant experience.

We always have a great time at Bristol Republic! It's a great spot for a hearty meal. Service has been pretty consistent so far. I always try to get something different everytime I go and I haven't been disappointed yet!

I saw Bristol Republic listed as part of the Hilton Honors Dining and decided to check it out for dinner. I found parking on the street and just used the park Columbus phone app. I walked up and was warmly greeted and was directed to the bar where I placed a takeout order. I went with a 1/2 lb of PULLED PORK and a 1/2 lb of the 18-Hr BRISKET to take home. It was amazing and plenty for two to split! So delicious and I got an assortment of sauces. I tried the Alabama, Sweet Whiskey, House Bourbon BBQ, & Gator. The House BBQ and Gator were my favorites. Definitely recommend and next time going to try dining in though it was perfect for take out too. Oh, and LOVE the pickles.

Been following this spot on Social Media since before it opened and finally had the opportunity to check it out yesterday. The decor is very neat-looks like a rustic saloon with a dash of a speakeasy Whiskey bar. The live music stage is like a spotlight window for the artists, which makes it look like a pretty intimate music listening experience (no musicians were playing during our visit). Besides music, this place prides itself for its Bourbon & Whiskey offerings as well as food: it's safe to say that they didn't disappoint in those areas. The Whiskey offerings were numerous in their types (Bourbons, Ryes), as well as their rarities, with pricing ranging from below $10 to over $50. We sampled one of their appetizer, Buffalo Mac and cheese which tasted as- described on the menu and had good flavor. We also got their sandwich with smoked brisket, and their southern fried chicken sandwich . This is why I rated them only 4 stars: the sandwiches were flavorful...but very dry. Dry to the point where it gets hard to swallow a bite. I think if they added more sauce to their sandwiches, that might help. All in all, I believe that this place lived up to the hype, and I am looking forward to exploring it again

Went for happy hour.  Rustic vibe. Put me on to some new Country music. Good customer service, thanks Natalie and Cassie. Drinks: Willie's sour. Delicious Food: Brisket nachos.  They are massive! And completely underwhelming. Cheese sauce was lukwwarm when received and the Brisket meat was very little and mostly fatty. I wouldn't recommend. My friend had the fried chicken sandwich. It was great from the bite I had. Overall they have good happy hour deals. Good customer service. I will likely return.

This country restaurant/bar specializes in all things barbecue and bourbon. Is there a better combination? Some could argue there is not. The decor on the inside makes you feel like you transported to Broadway in Nashville. We stopped in for an appetizer and drinks. We shared the loaded brisket tots -- tater tots, queso, brisket and bbq sauce. Seems simple, but it was absolutely delicious. I'm not kidding when I say it might be the best appetizer I've ever had. Sure, it's probably pretty unhealthy, but calories don't count on the weekend right? I'm already looking forward to my next visit to try more of their menu. Of note, this place is only open Thursday thru Sunday, and the hours are funky so make sure they are open before you stop by.

The all you can eat bbq on Sundays is slept on! $20 is a great deal for bbq that includes beef brisket. I probably ate $20 worth of brisket alone! The sides aren't included, but range around $4, with mac and cheese being $7. The Mac and cheese was okay. Nothing special. Could be taken up a notch somehow maybe with onions or peppers? I'm not sure! Was lacking a wow factor. The meat was good! My favorite was the brisket and wings. My least favorite was the sausage because it came out cold. I was so full from everything else, I didn't bother asking for another one. I do wish you could try every sauce option they have. They unfortunately only let you chose two for free. We watched a table order the nachos, and they were HUGE. Definitely on our list when we come back. The crowd was a mix of all age and is more food focused during the day. At night when it's more of a bar - it's a young and energetic crowd. If you were drinking , they have some fun party and group drinks to try. Definitely give Bristol a try! With City BBQ costing an arm and a leg now, I have found a place with similar brisket and unlimited!

Popping back in here to give a quick update on my experience at Bristol Republic and their new patio. I didn't really visit during the height of the pandemic but as soon as I noticed the patio while on a walk down High St. with a friend visiting Columbus, we both jumped at the opportunity. They don't have bottomless mimosas but a bottle of champagne was only twenty bucks. We ordered that and a few appetizers and a dessert. Our waitress was super sweet, everyone was in masks, tables were spaced far apart, etc. Drinks and food came out quick and everything was really affordable, and delicious. On a beautiful day in the Short North, this is a great outdoor space to enjoy food and some good old fashioned people watching.

Went for brunch and it was very yummy. Not pictured, was our daughter's burger. Best burger we'd tried in a long time! Service was great also.

Good barbecue place. Honestly pretty loud inside to the point where you can't hear the people you came with but the food was good and I'd give it another go. Taking a stars off because this seems to become one of those places that is pushing the out of control tip culture. Tip defaults are 20%, 25%, and 35% which is quite ridiculous. I'm more than happy to tip a good server well but what happened to 10, 15, 20? Just makes the whole idea of a tip in general really unpleasant.

How does the bottomless bbq after 4 on Sundays work?

Hi Jaden, thank you for your question. Its simple... just inform your sever and they will put in the order and bring out our famous bbq. Your sever will come around and ask if you would like refils for items. It's not buffet style. Does this…

Is this kid friendly for Sunday Brunch? We have friends coming in from out of town and they have 2 kids. We'd love for them to try this, just want to check before we attempt to come in. LoL!

Yes! kids under 10 eat for free on Sundays for brunch as well.

I have never been to this bar before but am curious...Would it be a good place for a surprise birthday party? Apx 15 people or so.

Absolutely! Please use the contact page on our website and we can make all of the arrangements!

How much is Sunday buffet brunch?

19.99 and 15 for bottomless mimosas

Is this kid friendly for food during the day on weekends?

Not sure about a kids menu but there are many potion options and small plates that are kid friendly. Atmosphere is kid friendly until early evening during the week and weekdays. Not sure if their new weekend brunch impacts this.

    What's the parking situation here?

They promptly provided quotes, answered all of our questions, and made the planning process seamless. One of the biggest conveniences was being able to purchase our beer and wine wholesale directly through Hoggy's, which eliminated the need to coordinate with an additional vendor. On the day of the picnic, the setup crew arrived on time, was friendly and professional, and handled the entire setup process for us. They even brought extra "emergency" supplies that came in handy when we realized we had forgotten some of our own items. The food was delicious - especially the corn muffins with honey butter! Our guests thoroughly enjoyed the meal, and we received many positive comments throughout the event. Thank you, Hoggy's, for helping make our summer picnic such a success. We look forward to working with you again in the future!

WOW! I remember…read moreHoggys under their origional owner with locations all over town. Well, the owner's son is bringing the brand back and today's lunch was total nostalgia! Meat is smoked onsite, sides are all house made using the original recipies. What's new is their "chipotle syle" service ( My words not theirs). Pick your meat (pork, brisket, chicken or turkey). Available as 4 ounce or 8 ounce, your base: (salad. Sandwhich bun, on a plate (bulk) or with Mac (I assume that is mac & cheese. Then they had a case of sides. We had the green beans, corn bread, mac and cheese, cole slaw and pickles. I dont know what sides we skipped. This felt like a lot. Oh and we added a wings. 5 for $5 bucks is a deal! I ordered the wingss with BBQ dry rub. The BBQ sauce selection was also part of the process. Do you want mustard based? Vinegar? Brown Sugar? We chose brown sugar and had 2 choices: one was sweet like a Sweet Baby Rays - Cincinnati style, Ithink and the other was sweet and tangy. We each got one of each of the briwn sugar options. Hubs went with tangy BBQ sauce pulled pork sandwhich topped with slaw and pickles. And a side of mac & cheese I ordered the lean brisket (had the option for a fatty cut of meat too) with the sweet BBQ sauce Once we paid at the counter we walked our loaded trays to the table of our choice and then got our drinks from the soda machine. Also available is their origional recipe for iced tea, sweet tea and lemonade. The lemonade was phenomenal! I know I've used that adjective twice in this review. It is well deserved.) We both ordered a cornbread muffin with cinamon honey butter. I have lots to say. First too many choices especially for the BBQ sauce. Tiny samples need to be part of the experience. Im thinking a popsicle stick dipped in the sauce for me to lick would be enough to decide. My salad base included a paper boat of iceburg lettuce topped with shredded cheddar cheese and pickled red onions. I ordered it with Ranch dressing. When I added a little of that Cincinnati sweet brown sugar sauce to the salad - it elevated the salad. Next time I will ask them to chop the brisket. Today it was served as 3 large chucks that I needed to cut to eat. My husbands pulled pork sandwhich started with a freshly buttered and toasted bun. The meat was chopped, and basted with the sweet and tangy brown sugar bbq sauce. They also addded a little pork render (fat) that was chopped into the pork befire piling it on the bun. Hubs put the cole slaw and pickles on the side because he doesnt like them but I do. There were a few other topping options but at the end of the day Hubs like just sauce, meat and bun. The sandwhich was phenomenal! We both loved it. My brisket was equally delicious. Neither of us can say which one was our favorite; pulled pork or brisket. The mac and cheese was a penne type noodle tossed in a cheese sauce but this was dryer. If you want gloopy cheese sauce then this is not for you. As it was, the cheese clung to each noodle. My husband LOVED it; I prefer more of a liquid cheese sauce. The green beans were salty. I wiuld like to see less salt used in the preparation. The corn beead was exceptional! Moist with cinamon in it. Hubs said if you dont like cinnamon then this is not for you. Im not sure I tasted the cinsmon but I only had one bite. Each muffin is served with a side of honey butter. I brought mine home for my son. If he doesnt like it, hubs and I will duke it out. LOL. Update: kiddo liked it Finally the ambience. It was very apparent from signage in the parking lot that the owner saved the Hoggy's restaurant decor. Inside art work was prominently displayed a large Mona Lisa, Girl with a pearl earring and American Gothic replicas each sporting pig noses. You too can pig up your own snout for just $3 from the display table when you walk in. (See what I did there? Pig up a snout LOL). High top seats at the bar are super comfy. The restaurant also had low tops and booths. Larger tables are perfect for families or friend groups. Utensils and napkins are available table side. The utensils look to be plastic but are actually metal - do not throw them away when you clear your table. Hoghys is an absolute 5restaurant. Im so glad we went back!
