I thought my van needed a new fuel pump and went in to have it replaced. They replaced it at the best price. However I failed to realize that it wasn't the fuel pump and it was the pressure fuel pump which I found out a week later. Went in today and Cameron the owner was able to replace the pressure pump without charging me an arm and leg. I can't thank him for what he did. Being a girl... TRUST is extremely important when you need to take your car in for service. I established that trust here from the "get go". Somehow you can just tell, especially when they don't make you do things unnecessarily and actually say "No, you don't need new brakes yet", etc. I normally work with Bruce at the counter and phone here to set up my appointment and today had the pleasure of meeting his son, Cameron, who is just as pleasant, friendly and knowledgeable. Each time, my car has been serviced by the mechanic, Hank and EACH TIME my car runs like butter after. Hank is amazing. I've never really even noticed how my car runs, until I started coming here. Today I had a normal 107K service and unfortunately needed a tork rod mount because one was cracked. Fortunately, they noticed this because the tork rod is one of 4 that hold my engine in place. That along with my cabin air filter and oil change, my car was done promptly in a few hours and I was able to pick it up that same evening after work. Because it is an older vehicle we came across more damaged parts that needed replacing as we went along. But the owner Bruce called me every time and explained the issue in detail. He offered solutions and gave me time to decide on my plans. The work has been done right, and with really fair prices. They even went out of their way to help me choose a reputable smog shop nearby! I can't even begin to share how beyond grateful I am for Brittons Automotive! I had an issue with my truck this morning. I lost all power on Beach Blvd and was barely able to coast into a parking lot. A friend recommended I call Bruce at Brittons and he took my call right away. I gave him a brief description of what I had going on. He did his best to estimate over the phone what was wrong. I asked if I could get it towed to his place and he said of course. The tow truck wouldn't let me ride to Brittons and Bruce came and picked me up himself. Considering I was a last minute entry into their lineup I didn't expect to hear from them until tomorrow at best. Before closing time (same day) Bruce got a hold of me and they had already managed to get my truck started and into the shop. Figuring I have a bad (leaking) battery causing shorts on some of my fuses, he's going to put a new battery and clean up the terminals in the morning. He even asked if I had a ride home from work. Finding a good, independent auto repair facility is not an easy thing. I've twice had my car serviced by Bruce and I couldn't be more pleased. I'm a "car guy" and I know my way around a motor vehicle. After having been taken for a sucker by another independent in H.B. (their initial $250 estimate was upped to $2800 citing all kinds of things I knew I did not need) Bruce was a customer in our bike shop. He struck me as a straight shooter and he certainly is.
