Broadway Diner is like any other diner on LI. Go in, grab a booth or table, browse a menu with 400 different items to choose from, end up ordering a breakfast item, and eating. This diner is pretty big and is actually in a pretty convenient location. It's across the street from Ikea and the mall so if you're shopping, this is a decent spot to refuel. The food here is just okay. My omelet was pretty dry and the cheese inside was not melted. The hashbrowns were good, though. Service here is spotty, at best. All of the waitresses were busy standing near the kitchen area and gossiping while a bunch of us waited for our checks. We kept waving our waitress over and she kept saying "one minute, one minute". One minute became almost 20 minutes. If you want delicious diner food (if that's even possible) and efficient service, go elsewhere. read more

My husband and I finally got a chance to check out the "new and improved" Broadway Diner... what a disappointment. We have been loyal customers for almost 10 years. As soon as we walked in, we were immediately taken aback by the new interior. The first thing we saw, was a fully stocked bar instead of the usual diner countertop. The interior looks like they're trying to be an American steakhouse. We waited 10 minutes to even be acknowledged by our waitress. After ordering, it took over half an hour for our food to come out. (Only after I had to ask the manager what was going on with our food) We didn't order anything complicated. My husband got eggs and corned beef and I got a blackened chicken salad. It was DISGUSTING!! My husband's hash was cold and my "blackened chicken" looked more like Perdue boil in a bag covered in some nasty sauce. Just another average diner. Nothing to scream about, but nothing to complain about either. It's conveniently located on Broadway and is right off two highways. Parking lot is decently sized (I've never had an issue finding a spot even on weekend mornings). The last two times I've visited this establishment, I got 2 different dishes (pancakes the first, eggs w/ corned beef hash the second) and they were both exactly what I expected. The pancakes were actually better than my expectations, but then again, you can't serve crappy pancakes and get away with it, so I guess it should be a given! Service was pretty good and I've never had to wait for a table, so that's nice. While driving around looking for a place to grab a late lunch we came across the Broadway Diner. I had gotten a chicken wrap with mozzarella and bruschetta along with homemade potato salad. My girlfriend ordered a chicken cesar wrap, again with the homemade potato salad. The food was good, just like most diners on LI. The waitress was nice and prompt, and the homemade potato salad was good as well. We'd go back if we were in the area and wanted diner food. =) read more

I still stand by by old review, but have to give them an extra star after a series of nice lunches there. For real, reliability is so nice at a place like this. Plus, they have a new series of skillet breakfast/lunch deals that are quality. The veggie skillet is a formidable amount of food (3 eggs + hash browns + veggies + cup of soup + drink) and rings in for $14. Be warned, you'll need a nap afterwards. Good Servers, Horrific Management. Will Never Eat Here Again. I was here on a Saturday night, (02/24/18) In a crowded room, the Owner/Manager (the only person in a suit and tie) was clearly and loudly heard yelling "Shut The F--k Up" to one of the servers/busboys. He then went on, loudly, to say "I have 10 other people dying for your job", which I find hard to believe, as who would work for a man-child such as that. Instead of taking his employee aside, and speaking to them, they chose to make a scene. He berated this unfortunate employee with a slew of profanity, the like of which I'd never witnessed at a restaurant. Before I say anything, I will say one thing: I've only had breakfast here. I've been here several times to eat on a weekend here because of there breakfast menu. I can't legitimately give them a 5 star rating based on just their morning menu, but if I can judge the diner by it, I'd say they are a great place to go. Since Broadway Diner was open 24 hours on weekends during part of the year (summer), I went a lot while I lived in Long Island. The servings here are always HUGE, and I've gotten to know some of the waiters personally during the years. Service is fast and efficient, and the food is truly GREAT diner food. Why do so many people go to all these fine dining restaurants with such unreasonable prices, when a lot of the best tasting and quality food can be found at diners such as Broadway :) I usually order the Million Dollar Quesadilla, Chocolate Pancakes, Spaghetti and Meatballs, Salads with Chicken, and different dishes including Steak. Each of these dishes listed were all satisfying beyond expectations, and even when I was full, I couldn't stop eating. This diner is as original as it gets. The music to the interior really gives you a 60's - early 80's vibe. The food is good and served relatively quickly. The service is great and you'll definitely be taken care of. I ordered the steak wrap (medium rare) along with fires topped with mozzarella cheese and it was delicious. The steak was cooked to perfection and the fries were hot and crisp. For dessert I ordered the cannoli and they presented it really nicely (shown in picture). So first off let me say im a big fan if this place. Big menu, good food, staff is nice but my most recent experience was a bit troubling. I know in these times restaurants have to kind of do things differently and with this in mind the day time manager/cashier just didnt seem to care. Customers were basically seated on top of one another and when i confronted her about she was suprisingly very rude and discourteous. I am every restaurant's worst nightmare. I'm coming in on a Saturday Night with two children, one of which autistic. We were greeted at the door by Gus, the night manager. He accommodated my request to be away from the ruckus without a single question. I asked him if there's pancakes on the kids menu. There wasn't, but Gus made it his personal business to make it happen. This is a major score for me, as my daughter is a notoriously picky eater. He even offered to bring crayons and coloring pages for the girls without me asking. As most parents know, that never happens. Irving was my server. He was on top of things, equally as wonderful, and the food was portioned well for a diner. On customer service alone, I recommend wholeheartedly. The food being very good is a bonus to boot. Worst diner on Long Island! Owner is not friendly and does not welcome LGBT ‍ people st all. He sat two people down, in the corner, away from everyone and no one came over to help. While there, there was a handicap gentleman with his wife and when he was given his food....he pulled a long hair out of his meal and stopped eating immediately. Our dishes, a simple cheese quesadilla and a yogurt with granola was just dropped down in front of us....the glass with soda was dirty and there was something floating in my water. Lately they have been hiring unpleasant and unprofessional staff. Last week we had a new waitress, I think her name was Peggy, it was the worst nightmare anyone can have in a restaurant. She was loud and talkative, She brought us the food fast but the entire time stood by our table talking with a blonde waitress. I use to go to this diner a lot when I was younger. It was the place to go when you got your car and started venturing out into the world. Fast forward to now and with plenty of Yelp experience's under my belt, it was time to see if this place can stand the test of time and may new found appetite for fine dining. I was meeting a friend for diner and she showed up late (not judging woman, but you ladies need to have clocks attached to your forehead). There was plenty of parking on a slow Wednesday so we parked close and went into the restaurant. The place looks nice, it attracts you with all the lights, but "everything that glimmers ain't gold!" We got a booth and our waiter came. He took out drink orders and then left. I understand my friend and I talked a lot so we didn't order right away, but I can't understand why he past us off to a new waitress. I found the waitress to be rude. She never got us refills on water, we had to ask. She wasn't at are table nearly enough. When we ordered I got the chicken parmigiana and my friend got the eggplant parmigiana. She asked for sweet potato fries for a side and the waitress said "they were out!" This was not what I expected after "reading all these glowing reviews for Yelp" (Wink, Wink). However the chicken and eggplant were amazing. I would come back for either one next time. I just hope the waitress could respect the customers that eat there a little more. read more
