They're really accommodating with reservations and changing our time. We had a reservation for 7pm, arrived at 7 and waited maybe 10-15 minutes for our table. We actually tried every dish on the menu, the salmon, the prime rib and the New York steak. The salmon and the New York steak were both overcooked. The salmon was pretty dry and the New York steak was extremely tough to cut into. What did I expect coming to a prime rib restaurant and ordering anything other than prime rib. The prime rib was good, a little on the rarer side but not too bad. They should have explained which horseradish was the spicier one. We waited around 50 minutes to an hour for our entrees, went through 2 baskets of bread. I did like how they came around to tell us that we were next but waiting for the food was so long. The prime rib in terms of taste is pretty similar to House of Prime Rib. It's tasty and juicy. Their cuts are smaller at a higher price point. I had the select cut an dot was about 1/2 and inch thick. Usually I'd expect smaller prime rib to be about and inch thick and buffers ones to be about 2. Overall it was still a nicely cooked piece of meat. The garlic mash potatoe was definitely better than regular and baked. It was rich, garlicky, and creamy. I could eat it without dipping it into anything. The Yorkshire pudding here and bread is better than HOPR. The cream corn was lacking. Overall decent atmosphere. We had a large party of 12 and gad reservations on a Saturday night. We were greeted very well and seated timely. Food was honestly amazing. My prime rib was cooked as ordered. Au jus was dark and flavorful. Great salad, potatoes, and sides. My only ding is service. Service was fast up until we received our food. After our food was given, we were never checked on, and waters/drinks were never even refilled. But around 6pm, the tables got filled quickly. I would say Broadway Prime is a wannabe HOPR. Everything is not as great, but it's not bad. The food, presentation, and service is just not up to par. The prime rib is not as flavorful or tender as I wanted it to be. The consistency of the cuts was also off. My medium rare was more on the rare side; it even had a red center. My friend's medium rare was fully cooked. Mash potatoes, corn, and popover was good. They don't mix the salad in front of you. This is my first time at Broadway Prime. This is a family restaurant on Broadway in Burlingame. The restaurant seemed to be a bit understaffed. When we came in to the restaurant we had to wait about 10 minutes before someone came to the host stand Once we were seated service was a bit better. The staff were nice and knowledgeable. I would have liked them to come by a bit more often, but it seemed they were understaffed. I ordered the select cut, which is the medium sized portion. This came with a salad, a popover, choice of potatoes, and either: creamed corn, creamed spinach, or 50/50 for both. The salad was well dressed and refreshing and had a lot of beets throughout the salad. Sadly, this was my favorite part of the meal. The popover was nice, but the main course was seriously lacking salt. It reminded me of the old neighborhood restaurants that refused to season food because the old regulars who come for the senior discount, don't like salt. I think if they properly seasoned the food it would have been a lot better. The meat was also underwhelming. I expect a prime rib to be thick and juicy. The portion size here might have the correct weight, but the prime rib was super thin, like a skirt steak and really tough. The largest cut seemed to be the right thickness, when I looked over at other tables, but the select cut was off. After a many years and with restaurants re-opening, just recently dined here twice within the last 2 weeks and had a different experience on each visit. From a food point of view, both times were just as good as I ordered the Broadway Cut Prime Rib and it was tender and juicy each time however the second time though the order was for medium rare most of prime rib was more well on the outside and just had touches of medium rare on the inside and the popover was over done than usual.; however still well seasoned and flavorful. The main reason for the different experiences was the service. The first visit our waitress was very attentive and courteous. We brought our own wine and requested to be decanted, she brought out a filter and poured into a carafe; not your traditional decanter but served its purpose. She also came to check in on us to make sure our prime rib was cooked properly and asked if we wanted more drinks and anything for dessert once we were done. She was very friendly and made it an enjoyable dining evening. This most recent visit, the waiter rushed through the ordering, did not decant the wine even after we asked; never followed up with us if we wanted any other beverages and immediately brought the check without asking if we wanted dessert. I guess he was in a rush as there was a bigger party that was present, but it felt more of a buffet experience than a proper sit down steak dinner like the previous time. I ordered the Broadway cut which was the largest cut that included the bone. To my surprise the cut was not cut evenly. Those thieves gave me an angled cut with hardly any of the rib cap! My wife ordered the select cut and was also robbed of her rib cap, as it was not evenly cut. As anyone who enjoys a ribeye steak or prime rib, the rib cap is the most tender and flavorful piece of the meat. This establishment stole the best part of our order! Their sides, the creamed corn and spinach was good but the server gave us our ordered baked potatoes that had sour cream which we did not order or wanted. The popover also had burnt edges that gave a bitter taste. Many years ago this restaurant was busy and their food was delicious. Sadly their quality, taste, and reputation have gone to the toilet. The prime rib restaurant is super legit. The ambiance is just right with a medium-soft tone voice atmosphere. It's not hard to get in this restaurant but I'd still recommend getting a reservation. There are clear cut differences between SF's famous House of Prime vs Broadway. I love the atmosphere better at House of Prime Rib but the cuts are a bit bigger and better here. If I had to choose between The King Henry cut and The Broadway cut, I'd have to choose The Broadway Cut because it's bone-in, thicker meat, and at medium-rare, this cut beats The King Henry. The meat is cooked perfectly and they don't skimp on the gravy. I prefer the garlic mashed potatoes and creamed spinach at House of Prime Rib because it's a bit too bland here at Broadway with a super small amount. The salad is just ok as well. A great no-frills place to go if you're ready to devour some prime rib and steak--the definite highlights of the restaurant! Came on a Saturday night with a reservation for four. Definitely make one ahead for a special occasion because it does get packed during peak dinner time! What they do the best is what they keep simple on their menu. There are 3-4 different cuts of both NY Strip Steak and Prime Rib you can choose from ranging from around $40-50. If you don't eat either of these, this probably isn't the place for you (they have a seafood option of the day and a vegetarian grilled portobello mushroom dish, but that's about it). With your entree, you get a side salad, a potato side, a side of creamed corn or creamed spinach, your huge slab of meat, and a flaky English Popover. There aren't even any real separate appetizers. I opted for the Select Cut of Prime Rib, Traditional Mashed Potatoes (the one with gravy), and Creamed Spinach. The atmosphere is pretty nice, though the decor inside is a bit outdated. Tables are placed slightly close together, though set up pretty nicely. It's very neat that you can watch the man on the side working to cut and trim all the stacks of prime rib for the waiters. Fresh bread is brought to the table which is always a plus for me! The side salad is simple fresh crisp lettuce and some slivers of beets tossed in thousand island dressing. Food comes pretty quickly in and out here because of the simplified menu~we got horseradish on the side of our place (opt for the spicy one rather than mild if you want more flavor and zing) and shortly got our slabs of meat! My Select Cut was a pretty generous and trimmed portion of prime rib in a savory pool of prime rib jus. It was flavorful and just the right amount of fat. I also really liked the Creamed Spinach because it was somehow both creamy yet lighter than others I have had elsewhere. The English Popover was an awesome flaky and crispy addition good for sopping up the jus and gravy from the mashed potatoes. I ended up trying some of my family's Cream Corn (a little on the sweeter side for someone like me who likes savory foods more), and their steak. The steak was also very good! It is covered in gravy and peppercorns which add texture and spice to the meat. I got the Tiramisu for dessert ($7), which was pretty darn good. It was nice and creamy with good chocolate and coffee flavor to end the meal on a sweet note. Overall this is definitely the place to go for prime rib-aholics!
