My son and I came here for a weekday lunch. The woman at the bar counter was super nice and personable! I was craving a burger and it did not disappoint! The burger was juicy and flavorful. The fries were crispy and hot. My son got the pulled pork sandwich which was also very yummy and loaded up with pork! I ordered a side of the potato salad as well because that's one of my always go to's at a bbq spot. It was fine but definitely needed salt and just needed a bit more flavor. We really like this place! I have to be honest and say I was not too impressed when they first opened because their Mac and cheese was terrible! However I gave them a second chance and I'm glad I did, The new recipe they're using for Mac and cheese is fabulous and the food portions are bigger than before! This cute new bbq spot is very close to clarksburg wineries, so we stopped here on Friday night for some food and beers after wine tasting. The parking lot itself is very small, however they do have a backlot and there is also parking on the side of the road. The setup was a little confusing to me at first so I'll explain it. The left side is a counter you order at a restaurant and more restaurant type seating. The right side is a bar where you can sit or order at bar and eat at the outdoor picnic tables. They have happy hour 3-6 Monday- Friday and there was 20 min of happy hour when we arrived so we had to order at the bar. They had $12 quesadillas, $4 off loaded fries and some beer specials. We got the loaded tri tip fries and a burger with mac and cheese. The food came out decently timely considering it was pretty busy. Mac and cheese was just okay, not a lot of flavor to me personally. The tri tip was really tender and I liked the cheese, bbq ratio to the fries as well as the crispiness. I like the outdoor vibe and could see this as a fun place to hang out. Meat not as smoky as I'd like but tri tip was solid, tender with a good bite through. Bread was okay and the combination of the pickled onions, provolone and meat had a good ratio of to one another. You get to choose if you'd like a Caesar Salad or fries, I opted for the salad and received an additional small (dressed) spring mixed salad? The spring mix was okay but the Caesar was a little slimy, would be nice if there were some additional side choices. When I left , saw mice running around near the doors, pest are a thing you gotta deal with, so I get it but it kinda grossed me out. This BBQ spot kept popping up on social media and I love me a good BBQ Beef Rib so I made the drive to Sacramento. The Dino rib is delicious, it is huge and lasted me a couple days to finish. It arrives nice and hot and is tender and easy to cut through. Even after a day the fridge it was still perfect. The cornbread is warm and has crispy outer layer. The location itself is huge, it has a bar area where you can sit and watch sports, a whole restaurant dining area and to top it off an outdoor seating area. I chatted with a few staff members who were all really friendly and helpful. I hope this place is around for a long time. Regarding the price, for my meal it came to about $65, it is pricy but most BBQ places are. This place has private parking but it's not sufficient for the seating accommodated at this restaurant. Use caution when parking on Freeport. I arrived for a lunch date but the registers do not allow barbecue orders before noon. Awkwardly the customers had to just wait by the register until the clock struck 12 pm. Could improve on this if the register took the orders but didn't transmit to the cooks until they are ready to accept. We ordered a full rack of pork ribs and shared, as that is the most economical offer. Sides are ala carte but when ordered with your entree it is $12 for two individual servings. I found this overpriced for the portions received and the coleslaw desperately needed some flavor. (Also bought collard greens). There really wasn't enough to share so I added an additional order of Mac n Cheese which cost me another $7 - again, small portion but absolutely delicious! The ribs were received in dry fashion and it was slow cooked to PERFECTION. They offer homemade bbq sauces to self-serve, spicy or not spicy. I had the not spicy and OMG it was so good. And I loved that I could just dip my ribs in the small cup and not make a mess. The servers were friendly and helpful with the refills. This place gets the job done if you want bbq and do not want to drive 30+ minutes. I would say the best thing is the ambiance, vibe, location, and the Kong IPA. You can tell the staff is new and everyones running around trying to get everything done but thats just how it is during the startup stages. Ribs are 2/5 but if you slap on their fire bbq sauce its like 3.7/5. Chicken is ok. Don't get the sausage. It taste exactly like the hot links packaged at the store. Dino rib is great. Super rich and fat. Macncheese was also average. Waffle fries were great but thats to be expected for fries. Overall don't come here with high expectations of spectacular food. Went on Saturday afternoon at 4:30 and it was pretty busy. I've been dying to find a good BBQ place in Sac and with them being open a month, we finally gave it a try. The place was clean and the service was excellent. We ordered the smoke-house platter, which comes with 1/2 rack of ribs, 1/2 lb pulled pork, 1/2 lb tri tip and two smokes sausages with you choice of two sides. We chose waffle fries and steak chili. Our favorite was the pork ribs. Fall off the bone tender with good flavor. I'm not a pulled pork fan, but this was tasty. Smoked sausages were good too, not spicy. The tri tip flavor and texture was good, but it wasn't served warm. The spicy BBQ sauce had some zing to it, but I prefer original. Waffle fries were excellent and so was the steak chili (a little on the spicy side). Everyone's spice tolerance is different, so you'll have to see for yourself. Sadly, they already ran out of the dino rib and beef ribs for the day, so if you want to try it, you better get there when it opens at noon. Will be back because it was good we are carnivores.
