If I could give less then 1 Star I would. Their customer service and food is absolutely atrocious. We ordered take out for three different plates and every single one of which was wrong. They packed our food upside in the container, gave us the wrong add on we ordered, and biscuits and gravy well unfortunately you barely get any gravy. When I called to ask them about it, I was put on hold two separate times for over 5 min I had to call back again. By the third call they finally told me the manager (Juan) was too busy to speak with me but they would take down my name and number. . . Now they are closed and I still haven't heard from them. This also isn't the first time I've been here and experienced such poor customer service but it's most definitely will be my last now. read more

This place was really good. Fast service and friendly as well. I got the rancheros skillet. It was delicious and bigger then I thought. Definitely get that again. We also got the crunchy French toast to share, that was extremely good, the waitress recommended it and she was right. Super good. My boyfriend got the Benedict's chose 2. Andrea was amazing, she assists us frequently when we come for breakfast and is always professional and smiling. She even remembers what I order. I always look forward to coming for breakfast when she is working. Broken Yolk is lucky to have an employee like her. Carlos is always helpful as well. So happy that this was near our hotel and had good reviews. The food is wonderful.....so tasty. We are from the Midwest, and don't eat a lot of Mexican/Tex Mex. The breakfasts we had with the chorizo, poblano sauce, and guacamole and salsa were delicious. Had lots of fresh fruit. I took half of my meal back to the hotel. Stopped in for breakfast with my family a while back and have to say there was really nothing memorable. Service was fine, I really don't get the super long wait for such mediocre food, but once we were seated, we were served quickly. Can't really say if breakfast or lunch is better, I've had both and nothing stood out as needing to order again. Prices are a bit high for the quality ingredients used, portions, however are pretty large. Fine if you are really craving breakfast, otherwise I wouldn't bother. read more

This place is THE BOMB. Our waitresses name was Lily, she was amazinggggg! My friend and I got the Caramel Apple mimosa and were beyond impressed; SO delicious. When I asked, Lily said she, personally, made the mimosa. I could tell she was busy and she still made a spectacular mimosa that looked and tasted like it was made with love. (thanks, girl!). Couldn't find a corporate number so I had to make an account so I could share my unpleasant visit. My husband and I went in for breakfast yesterday and we enjoyed our meals and service was pleasant. However, it wasn't until about the end of our meal when we were disrupted by an argument going on between what looked like the manager and some employees. After seeing the commotion we had to turn away because my husband and I were so uncomfortable that this was happening. This should not be how an establishment conducts business... I hope this isn't how they are regularly treated. Likely not to return. read more

We had a great breakfast here, Carlos was our server, the service was great, and so was the food.

After the wonderful experience my roommate and I had here, we came back for the second time. This time is just as wonderful as the first time. The food Ranchero Ski I ordered is well-prepared, with sunny-side-up eggs on top of some spicy chorizo, perfect for some energy boost. Andrea's service is over the top. She was very attentive and asked us if everything was okay, and do we needed anything else. We did ask for some extra sour cream for my dish, and she delivered it in no time. After our visit today, I wanted to leave a Yelp review for the lovely people at the Broken Yolk, La Costa. I then happen to come across a negative review, coincidentally also left today. I was sitting at the bar with my boyfriend and I know exactly who this person... JM... is speaking of. I've seen these ladies at the restaurant many times before. They are just regular customers, and they clearly have nothing but respect for the employees and other customers. I've seen them go above and beyond to help customers when we are there. Perhaps listening to other customers' conversation, particularly out of context, would be better off left alone. Perhaps servers are on a required break and are not immediately available. It is unfortunate that there are some individuals who do not recognize extraordinary customer service. Having said that... my review is to, again, compliment the staff at this restaurant. The manager, and the servers, the staff, were very attentive and always checked in on us. It is so disappointing to read any negative reviews for this establishment. The employees are kind, efficient, and very good at attending to their customers. To say otherwise, is undeserving. read more
