Our server Lena just had the best energy, especially for a hungry family checking out of their airbnb on a Sunday morning. She made our dining experience memorable. The iced coffee was ok, but the food was great. The gentleman bringing out our food didn't have the same energy though. His tone when yelling out our orders was not friendly. Glad I read the other reviews-- yes if you order takeout, it's likely you'll have the wrong orders or will be missing items. It happened to me. So take the time to check everything in your bag before leaving! I think they might need a better system to double-check items because I read many reviews of people ordering take out and missing items. That's the reason I checked my order before leaving the restaurant. It seems to keep happening. I was missing my cinna-pancakes and got someone else's croissant order in my bag. Luckily I had a hunch there would be a mix up and I was correct. They also gave me flour tortillas instead of corn but I didn't see it until I opened it at my hotel. So there's a high chance a mistake will be made. BUT the food is good. BYC La Quinta has online ordering which made the process simple. They have large portion sizes which makes the pricing reasonable. The American breakfast, French toast, and machaca plate were good. I wouldn't recommend the cinnamon pancakes. I'm not sure what it is but the texture of the pancake was not fluffy but had a sticky yeasty more bread like texture when you cut into it with a fork. They have fun drinks they mix and make with redbull. As an avid Redbull fan, I thought this was creative and great. I wasn't sure what espresso machine or method they used to make lattes and coffee drinks so we went to Starbucks across the street in Vons for our coffee. Overall-- it took 15 minutes to pick up our breakfast order at 8am on a weekday in the summer. They do get quite busy so keep that in mind. I definitely plan on dining in-person again at BYC when I'm back in the area but probably won't order take out again. I was a little annoyed that I ordered corn tortillas and got flour. Hire more staff!!! Busy restaurant but many open tables, I counted five inside while we waited. We waited almost 30 minutes then a friend of management walks in and is immediately seated. Service was okay except our server left without informing us. The food was standard breakfast fare nothing special. I'm not sure why my wife likes it. read more

I am usually a fan of Broken Yolk restaurants but this location had a few issues. I'll start with the positive. The food I received was very good and tasty. The waitress was very attentive once the food was received and checked on us twice which was nice given the lack of service prior. Not so good, after we were seated we sat for 10-15 minutes before someone came and asked if we wanted any drinks. It took another 10 minutes before a server came to take our order. The food did not arrive for over 30 minutes after that. Once the food arrived the order was missing several additions I had ordered. After waiting over one hour from being seated, there was no way I was sending it back! Although the order was wrong the food quality was good. Lastly, upon using the ladies room on the way out, the bathroom stall had no lock on the door. Really, this is left neglected? I think this location could use some improvement. We ordered Broken Yolk Cafe through Postmates the other day and placed a pretty large order. Despite that, everything was prepared and delivered surprisingly fast, which we really appreciated. Overall, the food was great--the bacon was crispy, the pancakes were fluffy, and the over-easy eggs were perfectly runny, just how they should be. The only downside was with the potatoes. I ordered two sides of hash browns--one came out perfectly crispy, but the other wasn't crispy at all and honestly tasted a bit undercooked. A few family members also ordered the home fries, which they didn't enjoy for the same reason--they seemed a bit undercooked. Aside from that, everything else tasted really good. We'd definitely order again, but next time we'll probably dine in person to get the full experience. Overall, still a solid spot for breakfast. Can't speak on ambiance as we did not dine in! read more

I had never been to a Broken Yolk before having become vegan before I even knew this place existed. I loved eggs before becoming vegan and to my surprise they were able to make a vegan omelet for me using the JUST EGG product and I did the Mom Omelet and omitted cheese I believe and added Beyond Spicy Sausage. I was not only impressed with my foods appearance as was my brother whom was dining as well with me, but the portion was a great size and it tasted great. I would definitely be back again and I'm happy to have found a place where I can get a beloved favorite item modified so I can enjoy it. We were here on Sunday during Memorial Day weekend, so it was busy. We put ourselves on the waitlist before leaving home and were seated within 5 minutes of arriving. Our server was nice and attentive. My meal came out incorrectly and she immediately took it back and had it done as ordered. She also recommended the Messy Caramel Latte, which was really good. Went in New Year's Day with my husband and 2 friends. We were told 45 min wait. After 1 hour we asked how much longer. We were then told "we are not currently seating anyone" no other explanation. We kept waiting and it ended up being 90 minutes from hen we originally walked in before we sat down. Thank goodness our server was nice. We ordered promptly but again, we're left waiting very very long for our food. We didn't order anything crazy, short stack, omelette, acia bowl & a hash skillet. Probably took 30+ minutes. In total our quick brunch turned into a 3+ hour outing. We will not be going back. For that wait I would've expected the food to be better. How is a restaurant going to "not seat anyone" in the middle of the morning? read more
