Worst experience. We stood at the hostess desk for 3 minutes. A group entered behind us and Juan a server, acknowledged them in Spanish. Asked how many people were in their group and proceeded to seat them. Thankfully my high school Spanish kicked in so I understood. The hostess finally emerged. We finally got seated and spoke with a manager. She clarified that they had a reservation ahead of us. However, he could have spoken to us to acknowledge we were there. He could have said, in English, "they have a reservation and I will be right with you. " He should stay in his lane. He has ruined our experience here. Not sure we will be back. read more

I have been to this restaurant 3 times. Every time I am amazed at the high quality of the food, amount we are given, the cleanliness of the establishment and the staff. Everyone seems to be way more interested in the satisfaction and happiness of their customers than almost any place I've been to since the dreaded Covid. I would most especially like to compliment the kind, smart, professional friendly waiter I have been lucky enough to have as my waiter each time I have been there. His name is Thomas. This place is awesome. It gets really busy so there may be a wait, but it's so worth it. I ordered the Border Benedict for myself, and I got the French toast for my girlfriend. I wish I would have taken a photo of the Border Benedict it was delicious! This was my first time trying eggs Benedict and now I'm hooked! The Border Benedict, to put it simply, is like a Mexican/South of the Border take on eggs Benedict. It's served with steak and a green poblano sauce. The eggs sit on a bed of sweet cornbread and are topped with a slice of jalapeño. Que sabrosa! Highly recommend this place for people who like breakfast food and mimosas. Geeez... I hate to say it, because I love Broken Yolk or should I say I used to like it. Maybe I shouldn't say that so fast but first of all I want to give a shout out to John, my server. Wow. So nice and accommodating. Always aware I was doing ok at my table. He just may be snatched up someday by a fine dining place eager to employ him, for sure. Broken Yolk has always been a comfy and relaxing place and perfect for that breakfast craving you have when you first wake up in the morning.Ive been going there for many years. Almost always, the service is quick and and food tasty but yesterday I was bummed out. I got the classic Eggs Benedict with hash browns. The hollandaise sauce was a little watery and thin with not a lot of taste. In the past, the sauce was thicker and creamier. I could barely cut the English muffin to take a bite. It was so hard, I couldn't cut it with a knife. I almost asked John to please cut it up for me. The hash browns were tasteless. Maybe they forgot the salt? I don't know and maybe they just had a bad day. I could understand that. We all do. But I will give it one more shot later on. I was impressed that they got our party of 16 in on New Years Eve with no problem and the waiter kept up with drinks and got our food out quickly. My daughter suggested that we have breakfast at this place. I didn't have a pleasant experience the last time. So I thought we'll give it another try after almost 3 months of not coming. We ordered berry parfait which hardly had any berries, My daughter love berries but didn't say anything thinking she didn't want to make it a big deal. Then my order came. Biscuits and gravy with sausage links and a side of fruits. The strawberry smelled and tasted like mold while the biscuits and gravy wasn't even warm enough. It tasted terrible. I am only giving this café two stars. I used to come here with my little kids and it was definitely popular and quite busy. However during the Saturday visit I looked and only half the café was busy and I still had to wait 30 minutes just for a table. Along with that I had to wait another 10 minutes to get menus and another five minutes to get our drink orders in. Overall just by sitting down and getting our water it took 30 minutes. I already knew what I wanted for brunch and I pre-ordered ahead but it still took over 30 minutes for the food to arrive. Just the overall process of getting two dishes took about an hour and a half. Service was very slow and our waiter kept forgetting to refill our water as well as get our bill. It may have been just that day but I noticed other waiters that also took a long time with their tables and one waiter spilled a whole tray of water on their customers. Luckily the customers were cool and didn't complain but I have felt that overall service at this place has gone down. However I do admit the food is still quite tasty and you get a large selection of breakfast and lunch menu items. So if you don't mind the long way and the so so service then you can still come and visit here. read more

I always love the mimosas here and the servers are sweet and attentive but the person that stood out to me here was John. We was a total sweetheart and was polite patient and attentive. They send out coupons for BOGO meals all the time, so we had breakfast here while we were living in the area. Service was fine, the wait is always pretty long,I suggest weekdays, as it gets very busy on the weekend. Both the breakfast and lunch dishes were pretty bland, not much in terms of presentation, and overpriced for the quality served. Portions are pretty big, but that doesn't really matter if the food isn't good. I don't feel it's worth returning, even with coupons. read more

Food came out in about 10 minutes. Huge portions, great food and fast service. I'm sure it's hard to be this great every time but this time was awesome. Waiter was super nice named Jared I think. First time we came we got my daughter mac n cheese and it was cold. This time we got her a breakfast corn dog thing. It came out like it was sitting in the fryer for years. Like super dark and hard. On top of that her fries were ice cold and soggy. Who cooks up a meal meant for a child and thinks it's ok to give them nasty trash with no even effort to make it good. I made them remake it and still not really that great but edible I guess. My MIL got French toast that was also cold and nasty. My husband got a club sandwich. Can't mess that up right? WRONG. The turkey was literally SLIMY! Are you kidding me? My food was the only thing that was hot but it was greasy and ick. I will never be coming back. The waitress was nice and understanding, but the food is just a big no for me. Plus it took so long to get to us so was most likely just sitting there for a while with no one to run it to us. We used to love this place. My husband used to buy me crepes when I would come down to visit him on the weekends. However, we've had many instances where something went wrong with our order. Today was the last straw or should I say hair! While enjoying our delightful breakfast after a night of drinking. My hubby found an ashy brown strand nicely cooked into his chocolate chip pancakes. Needless to say we both lost our appetite and I couldn't enjoy my crepes. Employees need to wear their hair up at all time.
