I had a lot of friends recommend this place to me so I finally took the plunge and tried it out. I gave it a 3 stars based on a few factors: 1. Food - 5 stars - my lady and I tried out the eggs benedicts and the sweet potato pancakes and both were amazing 2. Atmosphere - 5 stars - high energy and cool decor 3. Service - 1 star - we had a rough time with our server McKenzie who seemed like she was overwhelmed with how many tables she had. Didn't get us drinks or refills (fortunately a friendly busser and another waiter were around frequently) and seemed like she was in a bad mood. 4. Management - 1 star - we had to listen to some crazy short foreign dude yell at the same busser who was getting us our drinks a couple of feet away from our table and it was highly distracting. Overall go and try out the food for sure but keep an eye out for the service read more

After passing by several times during construction we decided to try it. Went in about 9:30 on a Sunday morning, no wait. Seated right away. A+ Decided to share a breakfast and ordered a mushroom/cheddar omelette w/hash browns. Server was friendly and checked on us several times till we ordered. A+ Plate arrived, looked mediocre at best. Basic egg omelette, but with CANNED MUSHROOMS? Really? Cheddar cheese was inside and skimpy. The top of the omelette was plain. D- The hash browns were the commercial kind, mushy and barely brown (needed some crisp) The portion was typical coffee shop size, a small rectangular size. I give this place two stars only because my server.I believe her name was melody she was excellent we came in over the weekend my food was tasteless I order a special she suggested called the 2by2 with my choice of pancakes or French toast I should have order the pancakes but not!!!!!!! my husband order a short stack of pancake he said his pancakes taste moist as in raw ugh and my French toast was dry and cold we waited 45 mins :-( I was just turned off about it !!!! We heard so much about this place I had to see for myself on top of that I saw one manger yelling at the bus boys and another manger on his phone or watching the game that was on wth but my server was very sweet and kept on apologizing but it's ok WE WILL NEVER BE BACK!! We needed a good breakfast spot in our neighborhood. Guess it is not the Broken Yolk. Had breakfast there on Saturday. It was the second time we had been there. I was so disappointed! The hash browns tasted like old grease. The omelet was thick and rubbery. The blueberry muffin was the best think about the meal. We sat by the window and there were a congregation of flies trapped on the glass. Every time the door to the kitchen opened ,my eye was drawn to all the pieces of food on the floor. Yuck! We live close by, and come here often - We almost always get the same thing as well (French Toast, and a Benedict of some sort). The food isn't incredible, but it is always out in a timely fashion and very decently priced (you get quite a bit for the price). What we don't necessarily like is the seating staff. Every one of them (that we have encountered) has a serious attitude. No matter if it is busy or slow...same attitude. Servers are nice though. Friend treated for breakfast and suggested broken yolk cafe. I ordered 2 eggs poached and a toasted English muffin. (Around $5) Eggs poached perfectly, but need to be served in a warm dish to help keep warm. County Benedict, a yogurt parfait and a Bloody Mary were also ordered. Everyone enjoyed. Tried this place for the first time last month. I love eggs benedict but most places cant seem to get the hollandaise sause right. Not the Broken Yolk. They nailed it. We've been here two times since and the food and service remain wonderful. After fasting overnight to have my lab tests at 9AM, I am looking forward to a great brunch. Broken Yolk Cafe did not disappoint! Hubby loved his No Name omelette and I love, love, love my Border Benedict. Portions are just right. We would give it a 5 star rating for food. This was my first time here. I frequent this area quite often so it will be my new go to place! We had the Monte Cristo & the border benedict. It was fabulous. I was a little skeptical about the sauce on the benedict because of the spice so I asked for it on the side & an extra side of regular hollandaise sauce. I was glad I did bc it was too spicy for me but I did mix a bit w the hollandaise sauce and it was perfect! The Monte Cristo was missing the Marscapone cheese spread & jam, jelly or fresh preserves so I just used some strawberry jelly that was on the table & that did the trick. I wasn't a fan of the Marscapone that i asked for on the side, and I was surprised with how great everything else was that they didn't have a special preserve or something for it but like I said, the jelly was just fine. The overall atmosphere was great, service was on point and everyone was friendly. I will definitely be back and bring others w me to share the experience. My son gets his fishing equipment next door at The Long Fin, so now I can come eat some fabulous food instead of sitting in the car waiting forever for him to get done shopping.... This has recently become one of my favorite restaurants for breakfast/lunch. I heard about this place from a couple friends. They're breakfast game is really up there. I have really enjoyed they're egg dishes. The surprising part for me was how good their chilaquiles are. Good flavor and just the right amount of crunchy. Good place to fill up for breakfast when you're hungry, but don't expect anything to be particularly memorable. Had the make it your way omelette which was overloaded with the fillings I selected(sometimes less is more), and jack cheese was only on one side of the omelette. As I said, fast and quick with plenty to eat, but don't expect the quality to be there. Also seasoning on omelette filling was non existent! Took my nephews to breakfast before flying back home. First the waitress got the drink order wrong, mixing up chocolate milk with hot chocolate. We just had breakfast on a busy Saturday morning. Arrived, was seated Immediately. The AC was blowing and made it unconformable, because it was too cold. The meal was pretty bad; the bacon was RAW, thank goodness I looked inside the breakfast sandwich and pulled out both pieces that looked pink & clearly was not cooked! They do not offer excellent customer care and services. You only get one napkin and the food had no flavor as well the hashbrowns were over cooked, half of the top was literally burnt & it tasted burnt. The pancakes were COLD butter hardly melted!!!!! We let waitress know and she seemed extremely annoyed and you'd think our meal would be complimentary since it was so bad. We did get a lousy 25% off our bill l, however the experience, the food they made was pretty bad. I won't return there. Bad, bad service! Upon arriving, my party and I were graciously greeted by a warm hostess. This was the highlight of our entire dining experience. After a reasonable wait, we were shuffled over to a cocktail table seated by the filthy busboy cart and the bathrooms, both of which stank. After we relocated, we were ignored by the waitress whom only filled one of our cups halfway with coffee. Eventually we placed our order after two other tables, who sat after us, were served. This is our 2nd visit to the Broken Yolk. We went last week and it was worth coming back to. Today was a different story. First of all there were ants crawling on our table. They kindly put us at a different booth. But then they sat another family there and had to move them out due to the ants. They got parts of both of our orders wrong. And the pancakes which looked delicious, actually had no flavor to them at all. I have never seen my husband leave pancakes on the table! We were seated close to the grill/staging station and the manager mentioned that one of the tables had been served the wrong order twice. Heard it was worth a try. We don't go out to breakfast often so we thought we would spurge and try The Broken Yolk for one of my children's birthday breakfasts. Needless to say, we won't go back. Blueberry pancakes were just regular pancakes with a handful of cold blueberries on top. Toast was just greased on the grill. Bacon was not fully cooked.
