Went to brunch with my girls to celebrate my birthday. The wait wasn't long and we were seated in a decent area. The vibe was good. The music fit the scene. The waitress did a good job. She was actually really patient with us as we sat and waited for one of our friends to arrive. Group of 7 The food. The food was alright. I ordered a club sandwich. The sandwich itself was good but the fries were cold. One of my friends ordered the ranchero skillet and she said it was good. Another friend ordered the machaca and she said it was alright. The beans had no flavor and she said her food was like warm. My other friend ordered the regular French toast and it was a lot for her but she said it was fine. My other friend ordered the mama's omelette and she said that it was okay as well. The plates are hot guys but the food is cold. Make that make sense. She also ordered a side of churro French toast that was actually delicious. My other friend who arrived super late ordered a drink and some sweet potato fries which she enjoyed. Amazing breakfast cafe in Southern California with fresh and healthy meals. I love the hospitable service and environment which makes the experience more pleasant and enjoyable. Came here on a Wednesday for brunch and it was still pretty busy. We waited for about 30 mins for a table of 2. Service was great. Our server was very friendly and answered all of our questions. We got the flight of mimosa - it was delicious! Just the right amount of alcohol to juice ratio. The sweet trio - this is always a good choice to get if you're unsure of what to get. Haven't been here in years. I love the place, but it's always so busy. Today I was on Yelp trying to find breakfast, and TBY has a link to its waitlist. I gave it a try, found out I was #3 on the list so I drove over and got seated quickly. As usual, place was packed. Food is always creative, tasty, presented nicely....coffee here is fantastic! In somewhat of a coffee snob, so it's rare that I am happy...I'd come back here, just for that. Today had "Mom's omelette" with a side of apple smoked bacon and a coffee. We stopped by The Broken Yolk before our bike ride, and it was my first time there--though my girlfriend had been raving about it. We sat outside on a beautiful day, and the setting couldn't have been nicer. Our waitress was very attentive and welcoming from the start. We ordered the Eggs Benedict and the Monte Cristo, and both were absolutely delicious. When my drink came out, I had originally ordered a hot caramel coffee, but they accidentally brought an iced version. I didn't want to make a fuss, so I just went with it. But when our waitress came back and noticed the mistake on her own, she immediately offered to bring me the hot version at no extra charge. I said yes, and it was perfect. When you start a day super early with drinking, for me food tends to taste much better. However, even with that lift, this placed could have been a little better. For a party of 10 they didn't take too long to get us seated. Ended up sitting outside but it was a nice morning. My fiancé and I started with avocado toast while we waited for our mimosa flight. The seasoning was decent and they weren't light on the avocado, but the dish could've used some veggies or something to give it more crunch since the bread's texture got a little mushy under the avocado. The flight was pretty good. Four distinct flavors, but I can't quite remember them since we had been drinking for a couple hours now. Very sweet though, and filled to the brim so I felt I was getting my money's worth. The hash skillet I ordered did the job, but I was a bit disappointed it didn't come in a cast iron, which I think would've given it a better cook. The eggs seemed fairly basic and the whole dish could've just used more seasoning. 3.5 would probably a truer star rating from this experience, but I can always respect a place that doesn't seem to skimp on alcohol. Probably won't return since I'm just in the area for Coachella weekend, but if you do visit I hope your dishes turn out better! read more
