We are regular Broken Yolk visitors and we had extremely exceptional service today! We dined with my 92 yo father who is hard of hearing and our waitress Sophie was especially attentive. Most servers talk around him to us but Sophie made him feel very important, speaking louder and repeating things as often as it took. Also, I wanted a hot chocolate and I asked how it was made, yes, I'm a snob and don't like it made with water, when she mentioned water, I guess I frowned and she immediately said she could have it made with milk. That option had never been offered to me!!! Also, Sophie's helper Kevin, was just as great when he served our meals. Very attentive, noticed my father needed things repeated, and did it like it was totally normal. So happy for how my father was treated. Besides that, the food was yummy as always! Our waitress was extremely sweet and attentive, but the food was very underwhelming. My eggs were overcooked and dry, and the home fries were cold and looked like they've been sitting out for quite a while, my coffee was barely warm the mug was broken at the base and the bottom of the mug was covered in coffee grounds. I've been to many Broken yolk locations over the past 27 years, starting with the original restaurant in San Diego. My favorites are Costa Mesa, followed closely by Glendora and Irvine. This Rancho Cucamonga location could definitely benefit from visiting these restaurants to see the level of quality and consistency they provide. Although my meal was replaced, no ever apologized for the experience, and no manager ever came to check on us. That was disappointing and made the experience even worse. If this had been my first visit to Broken Yolk , I probably wouldn't come back. Fortunately, I know how great the food and service can be at the other locations, so I'll continue visiting these instead. One other disappointment: I was told they are no longer carrying Splenda. Our server was kind enough to find a few packets, but she said they won't be carrying it anymore. I'm curious why Broken Yolk made this decision. It's cute and all, but it's way over-hyped. Basic food options. My dish was WAY too salty, too much sauce, undercooked eggs. Our server was in a rush and attentiveness was lacking. Ambiance: Place is fairly big, we sat on like the patio area, and the weather was amazing, so the breeze was perfect. The seating is not too close, simple, and straightforward design. Service: We had a bit of a wait, but the Yelp waitlist was amazing. I got on it on the drive over. We got there and were seated pretty fast. Our server was nice. Food came out fairly quick. Food: I had really high expectations of this place, but it just didn't really reach them. I love chilaquiles, but I've never seen them made that way before. They were more like nachos. The chips weren't tossed in the sauce, more so poured over them instead. So I had to ask for extra sauce. The breakfast Burrito was heavy on the egg, which took away from the other ingredients. Mimosa flights were what you'd expect. Cinnamon roll pancake was a standout. Overall, it was a decent meal, just not what I expected. Parking isn't great in the lot on weekends, so keep that in mind. read more

Fantastic Brunch Experience with Chelsea! I come here regularly but today, I had a wonderful brunch at Broken Yolk, and my server, Chelsea, made the experience even better! From the moment I was seated, she was warm, attentive, and incredibly friendly. She checked on me frequently, making sure I had everything I needed without being overbearing. There's usually a line, and we waited about 20 minutes for a table. Our server, who usually works in the kitchen, mentioned they were short-staffed, so he was helping out in the dining area. Food takes about 15-20 minutes to be served. Steak Skillet - Cooked to perfection, paired with crispy hash browns and eggs and french toast. Mimosa Flight - A refreshing mix of watermelon, pineapple, orange, and lemon. Overall: Great food, excellent service--we'll definitely be back! Better to get a table outside because the indoor dining can be very loud. read more

Apologies, I wish I could give more stars. We didn't have to wait long for a Saturday breakfast. We were seated at a booth right by the entrance, though the booth and table felt a bit cramped, especially considering how large the plates are here. We ordered the Chicken & Waffle and made it a combo with eggs and bacon. We also tried the Ranchero Skillet. Chicken & Waffle: First impression, the chicken's breading appeared a bit dark. I'm not sure if it's the style of breading, but it almost looked burnt. Surprisingly, it tasted great. The chicken was still moist and tender. As for the waffle, it was overcooked for my taste. It was too crispy and had a slightly burnt flavor. It was also pretty bland. The butter and syrup didn't improve it much, especially since the butter was unsalted. The sweetness of the syrup didn't balance well with the bland waffle. However, the highlight of the plate for me was the fried eggs. This is probably the only place that has ever cooked my eggs exactly as I asked. I requested over-medium eggs (which I know isn't typical), and they nailed it perfectly. Ranchero Skillet: Typically, a "skillet" dish is served in a skillet, but this one came on a plate. The potatoes were cooked perfectly. The sauce was definitely the standout. Aromatic, savory, and with a nice touch of spice. The red onion and cilantro garnish complemented the flavors beautifully, adding a fresh contrast to the richness of the sauce. I'd definitely recommend this dish. The service was really good. The staff were very attentive. No complaints about the service at all. read more

Service: I really appreciate when I go into a restaurant and I can actually relax. What I mean by that is the waiter and staff marked all the checkboxes. I didn't have to call the waiter because I was missing something or needed a refill or needed something else. The staff are extremely attentive and it's no wonder there is a long wait time. Well worth the wait, I would recommended using yelp to wait in line for a table before heading to the restaurant. Even after I checked in the wait time was minimal. Food: I ordered black coffee and steak and eggs for the entree. My girlfriend has the Eggs Benedict and we ordered a crepe for dessert. I almost forgot to mention the bottle of champagne and splash of OJ LOL. All really really good. Conclusion: Everything was fairly priced, restaurant was very clean, staff was awesome and food is really good. I will definitely be back. Thank you for the wonderful experience. read more

I only have the picture of the drinks (which were really good) but i ordered a lemon pancake and asked for sugar free syrup and as soon as we got the food we never were checked upon again, after being done with my pancake no syrup took 12 min to get the bill and then no one ever came to pickup the bill so i just put cash and dipped i think service was only bad outdoors because there was a bunch of workers but only reason i gave it a 4 not a 3 bcuz this was the first time in my life i was able to eat a pancake no syrup but id prefer my sugar free syrup food was amazing and just service was awful but ill give it one more shot to get good service and maybe my review will change This is way better then gina's kitchen that's overhyped in my opinion i would love to come back just better service read more

First timer here. Friday morning. Came around 8:30 checked in with Yelp otw there. Really convenient. Waited for less than 10 minutes to be seated. My waiter was pretty and super friendly. Really great. Ordered Belgian waffles combo and came out good. Also ordered New York steak. The house fries were good. My Sunny side up eggs came out perfect. BUT the steak was HORRIBLE. Ask for medium but came out well done. Not juicy. It was Chewy, dry and hard. I deeply regret my decision. Ruined my morning. No, I Didn't complain. Just hating myself for making wrong choice.
