The patties were juicy, flavorful and cooked exactly as a smash burger should be, with a nice crust and plenty of taste. The portion size was generous and the fries complemented the burger well. If I were rating the food alone, I would probably give it 4.5 stars. What pushed the experience to a full 5 stars was the exceptionally friendly and welcoming staff. (not usual at a "simple burger place") Genuine hospitality still makes a difference, and the team made me feel appreciated as a customer. The restaurant has a simple, but relaxed atmosphere, good food and great service. If you enjoy smash burgers, the Triple Threat is definitely worth trying. I usually go to a location a few times before reviewing the restaurant but the turnovers were so good I'm reviewing them after 1 taste. I highly recommend plus It's closer then going to Miami or taking a cruise to get these delicious goodies. I can't wait to dive into the menu next. The location was spotlessly clean and the employee who helped me could not have been nicer or more pleasant. Great place so far.

The thing that separates this from what people might expect is that it's chunks of chicken, not shredded chicken. She said that's not a bad thing at all, just a change from what some might exoect. She thought it was a welcome change. She liked their cheese whizz a lot and liked the roll as always, so she was glad she tried it. It's worth noting that both sandwiches were big enough that we both took half of each home. I didn't get the name of the two people that were working there this evening, but I'd still like to give then a shout out. They were both incredibly patient with the customers ahead of us and they didn't make us feel rushed even though we were there fairly close to the time they close on Friday evenings. Noticed another special on the wall, a smoked brisket sandwich. Can't remember the exact name, but that's what I went with. Instead of chips or their homemade tots, I grabbed the balsamic roasted brussel sprouts as an appetizer. Tables weren't the cleanest and were a little wobbly, but nothing deal-breaking... we made it work. Food came out pretty quick and looked solid. Flavor-wise... a little mixed. The brussel sprouts were very flaky and leafy, almost crumbled apart. You really had to work your fork to get a bite. I was picturing larger roasted halves. Sauce was fine, nothing bad, nothing special. I'd give those a 3 out of 5. The brisket sandwich was interesting. The meat was very fatty and kind of tough to chew through. Not sure if that's just the cut or the prep. I ate about three-quarters of it. It wasn't bad, just didn't hit the way I hoped. Probably still thinking about that muffaleta. Another 3 out of 5. I'd come back, no doubt... but next time I'm sticking with what they're known for. Those cheesesteaks always look great, and that's probably the move. Turn when you see the McDonald's it's in the shopping center behind it. My dining companion and I split the The Boss sub for $11.99. Filled with generous amounts of Mortadella, Sopressata, Prosciutto and Provolone and topped with tomato and shredded lettuce, this sandwich is a total winner! It is enough for two people and probably could be shared between three or four people with some chips on the side. We had no trouble finding a table at 3:20 PM on a Saturday however, by the time we left, there was a line out the door! We chose to sample the dessert in order to cannoli for $2.99 and a huge piece of tiramisu for $4.99. This meal may be one of the best values in all of St. Augustine. According to the menu, the restaurant/deli opened in 1989. I'm embarrassed we did not know about it sooner. The desserts were wonderful and probably one of the best cannolis I've had in years crispy shell and delicious filling. There are so many more options to try on the menu and a wonderful range of pasta, sauces, and toppings to take home. There are a wonderful Italian cookies and frozen ravioli and stuffed shells too many to make a full mention here. Everything on the menu is delicious, the staff is wonderful, and they stand up to bigotry in their own backyard. You can't get much better than that. The only drawback (if you can even consider it one) is just figuring out a good time to arrive to avoid a line. Regardless, even if there is one, the staff moves through it quickly and efficiently. As Sub Cultured is a walk-up window, there's some outside tables to sit, as well as the option of sitting in your car for that car-hop action. Otherwise, you're so close to the beach and parks that taking your sandwiches for a picnic isn't a bad idea either. If you can't find parking immediately at Sub Cultured, there's a little shopping center just next door since there doesn't seem to be much for street parking outside of their handful of spots. All of that said, I'm a transplant to Jacksonville via the Navy since 2004. One of the biggest cravings that I have from back home is a real authentic sausage, pepper, and onion grinder. While we were waiting for our food, we saw a car backing out from in front of the restaurant and stopping a vehicle that was coming down the street. We actually It seems like the visibility is limited in that area, so drivers need to be extra careful.
