I was expecting iHop quality and that's what I got. Worst chicken fried steak I've ever had. Tasted like a rubber hamburger. The veggies served with it looked disgusting and weren't seasoned in anyway whatsoever. The cornbread, obviously Sysco brand straight from the box. An overly priced corner-cutting chain. I have never had a bad meal at Brookfields. I've eaten here for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and everything's been great. My favorites though are the club sandwich and the tostada salad. I can't say enough about how good this place is. The traditional American food is great, at reasonable prices. Literally, freshness you can taste. The turkey sandwich had roasted turkey meat right from the bird (like you have on Thanksgiving), not processed. Our kids loved their kids meals. Soup was great. Desert was great. We went early one day for the "value meal"/happy hour. It was unreal for the money. A great deal. We had Turkey sliders, pork sliders, skillet nachos, mozzarella sticks. All really good. Plus, the wait staff is excellent. Super nice and on the ball. We've had three different waitresses, and each one is as good as the last. That's rare. I just wish they had a location closer to where I live. My family would be there often. read more

I finally took the time to create a Yelp account and write a review. This is the first time I have ever written a review for a restaurant, but I felt it was totally necessary. I stopped at this place for the first time when I visited Golfland Sunsplash about a month ago. My food was horrible all the way around. I ordered the Enchilada dinner. That is definitely something they need to take off the menu because they were terrible. The tortillas were hard, the sauce had a strange taste, they covered the Enchiladas with a melted and runny nacho cheese sauce instead of real cheese, and the meat had no flavor and had a piece of gristle in it. To make things worse even the rice and beans were bad. I will not be going to this restaurant again. I highly recommend that nobody tries this meal if they do decide to try Brookfields. read more

My wife and I dined with Brookfields in Roseville tonight and had the most incredible service. Kadie was our server and took care of us ensuring that we would be back. We enjoyed a New York Steak and Prawns topped with Blue Cheese and Bacon "YUMM!!" We also enjoyed some wonderful Draft Beer selections Shock Top and Sierra Nevada. For Dessert their petite pies are to die for the mixed berry pie and cherry pie. I would surly recommend this establishment to our friends and family. When dining with them the managers are very nice and stop by your table. We asked about all the photos on the wall and he answered many of our questions. Great local establishment with a history. Where in Roseville since 6:30 this morning for my daughter's surgery. We decided to go to brookfield's about 10 for a bite while she's in surgery. We come out of brookfield's at 10:50 and see that my back window is smashed to Smithereens and my purse has been stolen along with a couple other small electronic items in the car. Went to tell the general manager in Brookfield he comes out and takes a look and says oh yeah this happens here all the time we used to have a camera but they stole that too. Brooks brookfield's on Taylor Road and Parkway corner DO NOT COME HERE. This establishment doesn't care if your goods are stolen makes no effort to put security cameras where cars can be viewed I was in a well-lit parking lot with several businesses around me can't believe it happened in broad daylight . There was a large Stone the criminal used to shatter my window and the manager didn't even make any effort to remove that. Since the manager says this happens all the time I recommend you do not come here since this is a frequent Occurrence at their restaurant and they do nothing about it. Also called wonderful Roseville Police twice said they would send someone for a report and they to did nothing about it. I guess Roseville has just as much a low-life as anywhere else. read more

I came in for breakfast on Sunday morning at about 8:30 am. I ordered a simple biscuit with a side of gravy and my partner got the California omelette. When our food arrived his looked decent but my gravy was separated and watery. It was 830 in the morning and you served me old country gravy. Seriously? I took one bite (just to make sure it tasted as lousy as it looked) and i was right it was watered down and gross, not to mention the biscuit was dry and hard. It's really kind of pathetic for a breakfast spot to serve some of the most basic items old. The waitress took it away with some attitude when I refused any kind of replacement. When the bill came I assumed it would cost about 15$ for the omelette and orange juice he ordered so I sat my card at the end of the table and the waitress picked it up and off she went. When she brought it back and sat my already paid tab on the table I opened it to 21$. You guys literally charged me for the food I sent back. I never asked to have it taken off the tab which I guess is my bad. I've been a paying customer here for almost 12 years and I will never set foot back in this establishment. Horrible service! Let me start off by saying that their rancho Cordova location is excellent. This was my first time at the roseville location. When my pancakes got to me the server tilted the plate causing the syrup to tip over and spill all over the table. Meat was served on my plate when I specifically asked for it to be served on a sep plate. My husbands muffin never came, we had to ask for refills despite empty glasses sitting on the edge of the table for 20 min. We were double charged for items after having to ask for our check. Servings were smaller and had less flavor than their other location. They need a major overhaul on their service!! read more

Worst meal we have had in a long time. We didn't want to complain because we have not had bad food here before but the farther along we got on the meal it seems like the worse it got. When the soup came it was cold. Chicken tortilla needs to be served hot. Before we finished our soup the server brought our entree (turkey dinner) and left it on the edge of the table because clearly we were not ready. I gave a quick look of disapproval but then again l did not want to complain. So I didn't. Started on the meal. Vegetables were overcooked and mushy. Turkey was dry. Stuffing was ...... over seasoned maybe? The only way I can describe it is a musty old taste. The gravy was good but starting getting thick because we did not get right to it. I tried to eat it anyway but couldn't finish it. By now though I had eaten too much to complain and send it back. Then l found that my dining companion was experiencing the same thing. I know, hindsight, we should have rejected the soup when it came cold and the entree when it came too early and the rest when the quality was not right. But instead I am writing this review because it is the only avenue I have left. I will probably eat here again at some point. So hopefully I have a better experience and can change this review. read more

Best. Service. Ever! Had a cute young girl named heather and she did her job perfectly! I like to test my servers asking for lemon with sugar, she brought out lemon slices and packets of sugar saying " miss didn't know how much you wanted on the slice so I brought your own to add" exactly what I wanted to hear! Within the past 30 days, I've been to the Brookfield's on Folsom in Rancho Cordova six times. The service is good and I really like the varied menu. The dishes I've selected thus far have been well-prepared and very tasty. So far, I've only had two desserts. The first, the Colossal Brownie Sundae (truly "colossal"--got two servings out of it) was scrumptious! So I was absolutely ASTOUNDED yesterday by just how BAD the apple pie was! I can say without exaggeration that it was one of the worst things I've ever eaten. The crust was thick, greasy and waxy! It also had an oniony flavor. And the fruit (which there was very little of, but not a problem considering how bad the pie tasted) was not at all flavorful nor sweet (ice cream didn't help). I rarely post comments or write reviews, but I felt compelled to do so. Brookfield's has lots of delicious desserts to choose from--SKIP THE PIE! read more

We've been coming to the various Brookfields locations for over 5 years. We're seeing a backslide at this location for some reason. The patty melt was like a microwaved burger. Maybe it was - this used to be on a nice slice of rye, with a juicy burger and a slather of grilled onions. The bread was barely bigger than the small burger this time, and onions were thin and overdone to a deep brown color. I added onion rings instead of fries and got precisely 4.25 small rings (the quarter was a piece of fried onion.) The plate looked huge compared to the small amount of food on it. Huge disappointment, his a real difference from the Brookfields we knew. They do a lot of hype on social media, and it's making me think that they are wondering why business is down. This meal is why - we'll try another location to see what the deal is. The people are great, no issues there - but the execution on the food is very poor here. Maybe just a bad night for the kitchen? Probably not - it's been getting a little less great each time we visit. Hope they can dial it in. read more

Was in town for the day and needed some good breakfast. With so many options in the area it was hard to choose a place. I'm so glad I choose this place. It looks like a standard chain breakfast spot from the outside. Inside it feels like an old school diner. The food and service was the best I've had in a long while. I think my servers name was Tammy? She was the friendliest server on the planet. Really nice. The house made sausage and eggs was the bomb, potatoes were really good as well. We love to eat out and especially breakfast. Not so much at Brookfields. The coffee was slow to be served and really slow to be refilled (it wasn't even hot. Just real warm). Food was OK, but the potatoes were tasteless. Very friendly staff...when they came around. We were there right at opening time so there was no competition for servers. They just spent too much time talking at the service station near the kitchen. Not good for business. I hope things change or they will be the next "New Business Coming" location. read more

I was quite surprised when I entered Brookfields The Decore is kind of dark and reminiscent of a steakhouse. Such as Texas roadhouse. I have eaten maybe 10 breakfasts and six lunches here and have not been disappointed once! There's steak and eggs is phenomenal, with the steak being tender and flavorful and usually cook right to order. I would say one out of three times they miss on the doneness but they are quick to correct it. The chicken fried steak is average the gravy average and the bacon excellent. I personally don't like their sausage because I don't think it has enough fennel. The french fries are very good, the hamburgers good and the chili a bit too salty for my taste. I think they make an excellent club sandwich though, and I have that often. Without exception the staff is unfailingly kind cheerful and competent which is a rarity in the midline casual dining establishment. All in all I give it a seven out of 10. I don't think you can really go wrong as long as you stick to the basics. read more

Have eaten here twice,good both times.First time I had fish and chips,the batter is very good and the fish is tender.The slaw was good and the fries were ok,I will try the sweet potato next time though.Second time I had the Jalapeno burger,cooked perfect med still juicy.I opted for onion rings,they were a great match.Good amount of heat from the peppers and pepper jack cheese,but not over the top.I like spice though so take that into account.One thing that stands out here so far has been the staff.Both times I was treated very well,and they made sure drinks were filled and we had every thing we needed. read more

My husband and I always choose to eat at Brookfield's when traveling to and from the Bay Area to our home in Reno. We visited this past Saturday, April 6th at approximately 11:00 a.m. We were immediately seated and offered beverages. Our order was taken in a timely manner. It went downhill from there. We were seated in the middle of a section of booths and it was easy to observed other diners coming and going. 3 booths were seated after us and received both their food AND checks before we received our food. Other booths received their food and were eating long before us. We stopped staff 3 times, including the manager, and they kept saying our food was "on the way and we're sorry." No one could have been sorrier than us. We finally received our meals. My husband's dish was piping hot and my eggs were stone cold. I didn't eat them. We were offered a scone to go as compensation for this debacle. No thanks, I just wanted better service. Not sure why all of this happened but not sure if we will keep Brookfield's on our list of places to eat. read more

Oh, If only I could give this place negative stars...cause good lord, this place was just awful. I remember going to the Brooksfield in Rancho when I was younger; and hadn't been since a few years back and I remember it being amazing. But this Roseville one... forget it, I don't think I've eaten a burger as disgusting as the one I had here. A tasteless, thin, squishy patty with shredded/questionable lettuce. My boyfriends food was also just as bad.. a tasteless and thin piece of meat with soggy breading topped with a tasteless county gravy served with a side of bland mashed potatoes and also what appeared to be rotten vegetables. I'm not even joking about this; those veggies looked like they had been left out for days... -and oh yes, I almost forgot to mention the appetizers, which we had only ordered because of the happy hour special where you could get any of the listed appetizers for just 3 bucks. Well I don't know about you, but somehow I don't think 4 mozzarella sticks is a good bargain. I'm going to have to agree with some of the other reviews for how empty this place was we didn't seem to receive the attention we should have. Though the waitress was somewhat friendly... I could tell she didn't care about the quality of what she had served us; I could also tell she knew the food was awful. I can happily say though...I am never going to eat here again. When I first moved to the Rocklin/Roseville area, the choices for breakfast were somewhat limited so Brookfield's was a place you went to by default. As such, the menu and atmosphere of the place seemed tired and dated. I stopped in this past Sunday as my husband had to work and I was craving a pancake breakfast, but had no desire to cook it for one person. I arrived at 7AM and was promptly seated in a comfy booth and told of the delicious sounding specials. I opted for my usual of 2-2-2 (pancakes, eggs, and sausage), and ordered it from the value menu. I also ordered a hot chocolate and was told it had bottomless refills. Wow! I love hot chocolate so to make it bottomless is kind of dangerous for me. The service was really friendly and not intrusive. I was left to enjoy my meal while I read my book, and had my cup refilled without any noise or trouble. My total came to $8.43 plus tip which was a very nice price for a breakfast that kept me full till dinner time later that day. Brookfield's menu has been changed a bit to bend to the tide of the economy and the healthy choices needed. I will definitely stop by again when I feel the need for a nice breakfast, and have no desire to cook it myself. read more

And I've never had any issues with service in the eight or so years I've been eating here. Maybe the other reviewers are expecting gold platters? Whatever... Returned to try it once again when we found out a manager from the Rancho Cordova restaurant who we were familiar with was now in place at Roseville.
