Instead, my car sat there for days with no real updates. Every time I called, I was told they hadn't gotten to it yet or needed more time. There was no clear communication, no urgency, and no respect for my time. Then after all of that, I'm told a completely different story about not being able to test drive the vehicle because it didn't have plates -- something that was NEVER communicated upfront. If that was the issue, why not simply call or text me and tell me to come get the car instead of letting it sit there doing nothing? But here's the worst part -- after finally picking up my vehicle, I now have a NEW problem that I did not have before bringing it in. My power steering is no longer working properly after they had the car. That's unacceptable. I came in with one issue and left with something worse. At this point, it feels like careless handling or lack of attention while the car was in their possession. Whether it was touched improperly or something was overlooked, the fact is my vehicle left in worse condition than it arrived. FREE GAME: respect your customers' time and property. If you can't work on a car, say that immediately. Don't let it sit, don't give runaround answers, and definitely don't return it in worse condition. A simple call saying "we can't do it, come pick it up" would've avoided all of this.

Saline Automotive Services is located in downtown Saline, just west of the main intersection of Main Street (US-12) and Ann Arbor-Saline Road. Scott is a parts expert. He is great at explaining what's wrong and how to fix it. Since it's a smaller sized shop, don't expect to just show up out of the blue. It's best to call a day or two ahead so that the work can be scheduled. You can leave the car any time--even at night--because there is a drop off box. Inside the box, you'll find an envelope with a pen and a form to explain the symptoms. Put the key in the envelope along with your info and let it slide into the box, where it's safe. Because Saline Automotive shares a parking lot with a church (my church!) they ask that you pick up your car promptly on weekends, since the church might have an event that causes the parking lot to fill to capacity. Insider Tip: Usually, if there is going to be a big event, you'll see a portable sign for it on the front lawn of the church. But not always, so keep that in mind when figuring out when to pick up your car. Saline Automotive doesn't have a shuttle vehicle, but they offer you a loaner car, which might be even better. Scott's prices are awesome. When Goodyear quoted $515, Scott's guys fixed it for $299. I feel very confident that the guys will fix what needs fixing and keep our cars running fine.
