I've had this place bookmarked for a while since it was local and had great reviews. I finally decided to stop by today to pick up lunch. Parking in the mini front lot is a pain, but there's plenty of street parking available since the place is on a street corner. Street parking would probably be a better/ safer choice. The inside is clean and simple. There's a self serve salsa bar to the side of the register. The menu boards are a bit scattered, but easy enough to navigate. Service is friendly. Credit cards are charged an extra $1. Lastly, the food itself. I ordered chili cheese fries, asada fries, and an asada quesadilla for about $22. Pricing is pretty average for a diner, and it fed 6 people. The chili cheese fries were not great. I don't know what it was, but the chili was unlike any I've ever tried. Everyone that had a bite took a pause to try to figure it out. It wasn't so bad that we stopped eating though. We still finished it, but agreed not to order it again. The asada fries were probably the best part of the meal. They were smothered with delicious toppings. My only complaint about it would be the texture of the meat. They were definitely a few bites where I kept chewing until I gave up and spit it out. The quesadilla was odd to me. It had avocado slices, lettuce, and tomatoes in it. I was expecting just meat and cheese. The combination worked, but there wasn't enough cheese aka glue to keep the thing together. Everything was slipping out and it was annoying to eat. It was good at first, but I felt like it got saltier the more it cooled down. The last few bites had me reaching for the water. All in all, I don't plan on coming back. We come in here quite a bit, and we enjoy the food. I am tempted to give it a five, but the food consistency seems to vary in my opinion. Especially in regards to the meat quality. I could be imagining it but I am fairly certain that on some days the meat/produce is freshest and the food tastes best and on other days it simply is lacking the flavor we all look for in good food. Good variety of food, but AVOID the Fried Chicken. My wife ordered a Fried Fish meal, and I will bet you anything they used the same oil for my chicken because my chicken tasted fishy. Tried this place for the first time and I'm sorry I stopped here for breakfast.... I ordered the pancakes and eggs and my pancakes were uncooked inside!! They gave me a bad stomachache and when I told the girl and the lady that the pancakes were raw they just looked at me. The lady finally said you want more?? Oh no thanks.... my stomach was already hurting ‍. That's it they don't offer anything else.... so I was leaving the lady yelled "have a nice day" Thanks for a bad day and a bad stomachache. A place that serves American & Mexican food that taste great. They have specials on some days of burgers and tacos. I've tried their tacos and they are fairly good with simple ingredients..meat and salsa. Their ingredients are completely fresh and when your meal is set on the table you will highly satisfied with it. The place itself is a little outdated, but still comfortable for families. read more

I came here because it had a 4.5 star rating and I wanted to check it out. Oh, yeah, I was hungry as well. I ordered the chilaquiles w. Green sauce. It was good. I little spicy for me, but I am a light weight in the spice category. I didn't give it a 5 star because they charge $1.00 for credit card or debit card transactions. They also charge .75 for refills. I had been craving a burger for the past week. And, I happen to live about a block away from this little restaurant. I don't drive and any other burger joint is about 10 minutes walking distance from me. The only complaint I have is that the last 3 times I attempted to come here - at different hours mind you - they happened to be closed! Their sign says they closed at 9pm, but it is best to call them and check because they are sometimes closed as early as 6pm. Luckily, they were opened today and I ordered their double burger combo. They aren't kidding with this burger! It was huge and so delicious! I was sad to see it disappear into my belly, lmao! The meat was fresh, lettuce was fresh, the tomato was fresh, the bun was fresh and the thousand island dressing was messy and, oh, soooooo good. I love that they don't season their french fries. I just wish they gave you a bigger drink with this combo. I mean, a huge burger, deserves a large drink at best.None the less, This was the best $8 I spent! The only thing keeping me from giving it 4 stars is their hours of operation. But, their burgers are always delicious and deserve 4 stars, maybe even 5 stars. First visit, took a chance based on the reviews. Ordered carne asada breakfast which came with eggs, hash browns, beans and toast. Asked for the carne to be cooked so it's pink; medium. Received well done carne which I did go ahead and tried to eat. The flavor wasn't bad but hard to eat with the toughness of being well done. The eggs and hash browns were pretty good and staff friendly. Prices are good here but I probably would not come back. I like my food authentic and full of flavor like my mom and the Tias make it and this place is as close to authentic Mexican Food as it gets for a fast food joint. The refried beens are delicious! The Machaca and Caldo de Res is my go to every time but if you like menudo by far this is the best spot in SGV. The service is great! Very friendly and they constantly cater to you. I would honestly pay double of what they charge, their prices are ridiculously low and very well worth the drive.
