Great BBQ, but the hidden gem for me was the jalapeños cheddar sausage. Cheesy, meaty with a little spice kick - awesome. Add a brisket sandwich on to that and that was a filling lunch! Next time I'll ask for a sausage sandwich!

Two meat two side combo: ribs, brisket, potato salad, baked beans, and two corn bread (paid extra for one corn bread)

An absolute keeper! My Brothers Keeper BBQ will definitely be my forever bbq spot! Can't miss this spot because there is a huge BBQ smoker in front of the restaurant. Visited on a Sunday afternoon and even though the line was long, the wait is totally worth it! Ordered the combo with 2 meats: ribs and brisket with 2 sides: baked beans with bacon and potato salad, extra corn bread because you can't just have one, and lemonade. The ribs were seasoned perfectly and fell off the bone! The brisket was juicy and flavorful! The potato salad and baked beans hit the spot! Lastly, the corn bread was moist and delicious! The lemonade was fresh and not too sweet, just the way I like it! Love the picnic benches that provided an opportunity for strangers, neighbors, and friends to meet and talk and enjoy the best bbq, weather, and music; all of it brought back memories from good times! Street and neighborhood parking was no problem. We sat next to a couple who had a dog (Ruby) and staff from the Brothers Keeper BBQ gave her a real doggy bone treat! By the looks of it, she enjoyed it!

After bookmarking the pop-up during the quarantine, we finally made it, only this time he has his own spot! Facility: A: This is the old MVP location but much better. Clean and simple. Bathroom to wash hands is conveniently located. - clean covered picnic tables Food: A: Beef Rib - We don't eat pork so we were so glad he had beef. It was flavorful and tender. It was pricey though. The Mac and cheese was so good. Something about the seasoning!!! A+: Service. Everyone was nice and we even got a free sample to try while we waited. We can't wait to go back again, and this will be our go-to bbq spot in Long Beach.

Ribs, burnt ends, pulled pork, brisket, honey cornbread

I hate to leave bad reviews, I hate it, sincerely ! But I just spent $138 for some of the worst food I've ever eaten! I ordered the bk sampler $65, which comes with 4 meats and 4 sides (no repeat meats or sides) , and I also ordered 1/2lb of brisket $20, 1/2lb burnt ends $18, an extra side of Mac and cheese $8 and an extra side of beans $8 (there's a reason I had to order extra sides) 2 honey cornbreads $8 Remember those 4 sides, well they're not actually sides that could possibly satiate a human adult. They give you bbq sauce cups filled with sides (because it's only meant to be a sample of the side lmao) and because you can't pick your sides you're forced to get their slew of cafeteria sides. (Potato salad, brisket beans, Mac and cheese, and bbq beans) is what I was forced to get lmao The bbq beans are topped with sour cream and are mainly finely ground beef, and few beans, the beans are sweet and the sour cream blends horribly with these sloppy Joe style beans. The fresh cut onions added a horrible aftertaste btw The potato salad is a runny mustardy saucy mess, the potatoes were severely undercooked and the flavor was exactly what you don't want in your mouth. Avoid this! The brisket beans were literally Busch's sweet beans with fatty pieces of brisket shavings The Mac and cheese some of the worst Mac and cheese I've ever ! This is an insult to anyone who pays for this! It's like they're using a powder for the cheese and the flavor was non existent ! This isn't authentic or even remotely good! (Avoid this) The pulled pork was dry and flavorless The ribs were tough and hard to eat The brisket was not just fatty but it was flavorless The burnt ends were actually palatable but the store bought bbq sauce was a blatant reminder of the quality that I was consuming! The cornbread was as the best thing I had and a that was just ok . The drown the top in honey butter so it's hard not to like it after tasting such tasteless food! I was shocked and actually sad! The customer service was great which also makes this review hard to write! I'll attach pictures but I really believe this isn't a business that is worthy of this price and I think they need to close down and workshop their menu! This is not restaurant quality and I want a refund lmao but that will never happen! Once again nice people and bad food often make it hard for people to be honest about the food only! But this is the honest to gods truth!

Got a side of Grammy"s Potato Salad and 1 lb of Pork Spareribs. Wow, everything was delicious. The potato salad was creamy and smooth. I think I tasted a little bit of mustard in the potato salad? The rib seasoning was flavorful and well balanced. The meat was tender with good smokiness. The sauce had the right amount of tanginess. Service was very friendly. There was a limited amount of street parking. I opted to park around the corner in the residential area.

All the make up of a good time bound to happen. For starters I heard about Brothers Keeper BBQ by word of mouth. The biggest compliment is for someone you trust to rave about how good food is. The second thing was promising smell in the air. The unmistakable aroma of BBQ, smoke and above all Flavor! Third, it was 2pm in the afternoon and people were walking away with to-go plates, big grins and thanking the workers. And before I could think of a fourth thing the server asked me if she could help me and before I could make up my mind the owner passed me a cup of ice water stating "you look thirsty". You can't make that level of customer service up. So how did it taste?! Ribs - The owner said I wouldn't need any sauce and I appreciate his confidence. Nice smoke ring, beautiful glimmer and well seasoned. No complaints. Brisket- Sliced, well portioned, and yes they were tender. A little too thick of a slice but no issues here. Greens - if you were looking for the scraps of pork I must tell you to look no further. The meat to greens ratios was almost embarrassing. You could literally eat it as a full meal not to mention it had great flavor. A bit too much vinegar but that's just a preference. Mac & Cheese - listen anyone who dares to make a rue and their own cheese sauce is starting off in high regard! Where they lacked in seasoning is ok because you can always add more. The real treat is how well it warmed up the next day! Candied Yams - Good, not great. Throughly cooked, buttery and flavorful. Just not a fan of the cooking method. All the cinnamon floated to the top. Lemonade - It was the healthiest fresh squeezed lemonade i ever had. Unfortunately it was giving Minute Maid. Pickled Onions - they pickle their own onions! It's the little things that make the difference! Pros - Good Food! Great portions! Amazing customer service! Cons - ONLY one BBQ Sauce option and it was basic. I really could have skipped the lemonade.

Living one block from here, I was excited to support a local business! The spot is cool, it's the original MVP location in front of the house on 4th street. Street parking only, picnic table seating. FOOD** It wasn't bad food, but not too great by any means either. The Brisket was dense and dry inside. Also a bit too salty. 2.5/5 stars The Mac&Cheese and Potato Salad were 3.5/5 stars Also pretty good but nothing amazing here Sitting here disappointed after paying $39.79 for a one person meal With these premium prices I expected much more Next time I want BBQ I'll be heading to LALC in Seal Beach like usual

Friendly, hospitable staff, awesome outdoor vibe with feel-good tunes, accompanied by great bbq and sides! We tried the BBQ Sampler which was perfect for us because we are usually pretty indecisive and want to try a little of everything. We were able to sample the collards prior to committing, which was a great touch. They were on the spicy side, but I really liked them. They were too spicy for the rest of my party, but they are all pretty sensitive to heat. I have some allergies and one of the employees was gracious enough to come out to our table to let me know what ingredients were used and that I could safely enjoy everything our group ordered. I appreciated the table visit and that the front of house staff inquired properly about my allergy concerns. My favorites were the spare ribs and the potato salad. Honorable mention for the burnt ends and the banana pudding. The house-made lemonade was the perfect balance of tart and sweet. The mustard dipping sauce was also FIRE. I was happy to accept the offer to take an extra side home when I requested a take out box. The only thing that I think we should have tried was the cornbread and honey butter. I thought it came with the sampler, but I believe we were supposed to add it on. I think the price point for the value of the labor and love that goes into smoking meats was fair. I am looking forward to going back the next time we are on that side of town!

Sampler platter with chicken, ribs, brisket and pulled pork. Just enough for two to share.

I surveyed some folks on Next Door for a local business to support for Juneteenth. Dozens of people recommended Brothers Keeper BBQ, and for good reason. It has a great neighborhood vibe with picnic tables and canopies, sweet tea and lemonade. My husband and I tried the sampler tray. You get four meats and four sides. We tried the barbecued chicken, the brisket, the ribs, and the pulled pork. For sides, we had the collard greens, the baked beans, the chili, and the crunchy coleslaw. It comes with one piece of cornbread, but we ordered a second because there was two of us and I don't share cornbread. Sounds like a lot of food. But perfect for sharing. Everything was absolutely excellent, fall off the bone, slow roasted, smoky goodness. I think my favorite side was the collard greens. Usually when I order it at other restaurants, it's very salty with ham, bacon and/or neckbones. But these collard greens had a spicy/pickled flavor with peppered pizzazz that left my lips sizzling. (Gave my husband a little rattlesnake bite kiss after eating the whole cup.) It's currently a small business that opens at noon and serves until it's all gone. But I'm going to keep my eye on it because it would be awesome for catering. Keep up the fantastic work BK-BBQ!!Definitely going back!

Absolutely amazing BBQ! I previously stopped by after work and everything was sold out. So I came back the next day an hour earlier and got lucky to order what I wanted: ribs, spicy collard greens, baked beans, and corn bread. Everything was absolutely amazing. The ribs were incredibly flavorful. They were tender, smoky, and the top almost tasted like candied meat in a way. Half a pound came out to be two ribs, and since I was so hungry I didn't know if that would be enough, but the ribs had more meat on them than past ribs I've tried. They were absolutely delicious! The spicy greens were fresh and flavorful, and I loved that it had meat in it. The baked beans were delicious with the bacon, though a bit more on the sweeter side which is good depending on how you like your baked beans. And pro tip: definitely don't pass up the corn bread! I need to come back and try all the other menu items.

Mmmmmmm! I don't eat barbecue that often but when I came across the page on Instagram, it looked so good and I always love to eat at these small local businesses. I just move back from the Bay Area to SoCal and I used to live in Long Beach very close to this restaurant, very cool neighborhood! The brisket was so tender, the ribs fell off the bone and to be honest I could eat like 10 corn muffins thank God we only got two they were so delicious! Everything was great. I can't wait to come back here and try some other items. I really wanted the collard greens but we got coleslaw instead, and it was also really good. It's a little bit of a wait obviously because it's so good so maybe get there a little bit earlier right when they open if possible but still wasn't too bad maybe about 25 minutes. Also they have great pink lemonade. Can't wait to go back!

First time at this local spot . You can smell the barbecue from the street. Brisket and pork ribs were tender and delicious. The best corn bread I've ever tasted also. Welcoming staff. Menu fairly priced . Went on a Wednesday around lunch time and was not busy . The weekends they said usually a line and sells the meat until it's gone. The street parking was not bad but we also went in the middle of the week. Definitely will be back ! Kudos to the chef for a great meal !

I don't even have many words for what we orderedb other than, Great food! My partner had two bites and immediately said oh yeah this is good, we'll be back and then mentioned a friend to bring next time. He has NEVER in 10 years said those words lol! He had brisket and gouda Mac n cheese. I had pork belly burnt ends and some gouda mac n cheese + a lil treat: brown honey butter on corn bread. Yum yum and yum!
