Vegetarian pizza, chicken, tikka, rice, dal, garlic, naan
    Tahir N.

Friends and I were planning to take in a show at the riptide and were pleasantly surprised to find this Indian/Italian/pizza restaurant only a few doors over. My wife is vegetarian and Indian so this made an easy choice of place. You order at the counter and then you can take a seat at one of the 6 or so tables in the front. Mostly this is a takeout/delivery place for pizza. We started with the Greek salad Which is chopped iceberg, lettuce and tomato and probably some onion and feta cheese, but no anchovy strip. The dressing was pretty good. For the meat eaters we got the chicken, tikka without the masala sauce. This consists of chunks of chicken that have been spiced in a yogurt sauce and cooked on a skewer. Often, this can be too dry for my taste, but these were nicely moist. You can choose rice or naan-and we chose rice and naan. Also comes with daal. For the pizza we chose the vegetarian which is onion and greens and broccoli. I was not very confident in the broccoli as an ingredient, but it was OK. Instead of tomato sauce they have a masala sauce, which is a little too runny for my taste. I think they should try to thicken that a little maybe with a little tomato paste or flour. The crust is not a crispy pizza crust. It is more like a naan. Soft and fluffy. At the end of it all we were so full! They also have a number of pasta dishes, which I'd be really curious to try as I bet they're good. Meat lasagna, and pasta Alfredo, for example The ambience is very simple. This is a neighborhood hole on the wall. They do a steady delivery business as well as carry out.

I have in the past ordered directly and via DoorDash where I have picked up my orders and had a good experience given the base price was the same. Today I wanted to put in an order for a Pizza via DoorDash at 3pm, but did a double take on the price. Between today, and my last order there is now a 33% price difference between the in House $29+ , and DoorDash $39+. It is now absurd ordering anything here via DoorDash.

Still my favorite pizza place after 30+ years! Every time I bite into that fluffy crust it takes me back to my high school days. My child also loves their pizza!

Chicken Tikka Masala Pizza - 14" Medium

This was my first time trying Indian-fusion pizza and I'm glad I tried it from an establishment that's been doing it since the 80's! I got the chicken tikka masala pizza and It was everything I imagined. The sauce accompanied with the tender grilled chicken and cheese was perfection. I found it didn't need any extra accoutrements like parmesan or chili flakes. The mango lassi was refreshing and hit the spot. Service was great and the ambiance was homey with all the historical SF pictures lining the walls.

Hole in the wall spot makes great pizza and chicken wings :) parking can be hit and miss but usually a spot shows up eventually. The service is swift. They have more menu items including Indian food and other appetizers. We ordered a large combination pizza and hot wings. Excellent food.

This is a place which brings back the feeling of old San Francisco. A place not forgotten and the taste of old San Francisco lives on by the beach. Growing up in the Mission I use to go to Zantes Pizza which reminds a bit of Brothers Pizza. The pizza at Brothers stays tasty and consistent. This type of pizza is my jam: Thick, Cheesy, and Saucy with Flavor.

Came here after playing pickleball in the inner sunset. Parking was pretty easy to find on a street near by. Initially I thought the price by the slice was expensive but I ordered the vegetarian slice and it was bigger than my head :o They use curry instead or marinara which is pretty unique and the veggies I got were very refreshing. All the slices/ pizzas are made to order which means it takes a while but it's well worth the wait because it super fresh and hot when you get it!! Pro tip: check in on yelp and show it to the cashier for a discount!!

1/2 Chicken Tikka Masala Pizza & 1/2 Tandoori Chicken Pizza

Heard about this spot thanks to TikTok and was looking forward to trying this place for some time. Unfortunately it didn't live up to my expectations. While the concept of combing Indian with Italian seems interesting, I didn't find my particular order to live up to the expectations that I was hoping for. A lot of the tandoori chicken toppings came out dry and I personally felt that the crust was lacking as well.

XL Chicken Tikka & Tandoori Combo = stacked! Other half: Brother's Special Pizza! Cup of parmesan for size comparison!
    Michael Y.

This is a loaded pizza!! Toppings were stacked! I bit through layers of chicken in the Combo that included tandoori chicken along with tikka massala. Then on the other half of the pizza, the Brother's Special was also good with sizable chunks of sausage! Why haven't we tried them earlier? Pro tip: they have a check-in deal for either 20% off your order or $30 for $25 dine-in, and yep, we checked-in and ordered an XL pizza! It was the biggest pizza box I have picked up in a while! This is a legit pizza that the Ninja Turtles would approve of - probably Splinter too.

XL Chicken Tikka Masala x Tandoori Chicken pizza
    Vivian H.

I'd heard good things about Indian pizza and took the opportunity while in the neighborhood to order an XL thin crust chicken tikka and tandoori chicken combo (staff recommendation) to take home for dinner. Yelp check-in discount was a nice surprise, and I think I saw some coupons on their website when I was looking at the menu. The staff was HUSTLING in there, taking phone call after phone call and churning out pizzas to order. So anticipate a 20 minute wait and you will get a fresh piping hot pizza in your hands. It smelled so good and I was so hungry I dipped into the pie as soon as we got in the car. Balancing a HOT pie on my lap, I tried to sneak a slice into my mouth and with the relative lack of crust integrity, part of the topping/cheese/sauce slid off and scalded my chest. I don't regret it. An XL was definitely the right size for 3 hungry hippo-humans to be quite full. I'm sad to report I found the flavors to be a little lacking though - thought with the tandoori and tikka masala it'd be a flavor bomb but felt like my mouth was searching for more. If they amped it up a bit more I'd be back.

I've been to Tony's a few times, and the first two times, my hub and I have left raving about it and telling all our friends and fam to get to Tony's. We live in the city so we always take public transportation. Within the last 6 months, I've discovered a gluten and dairy allergy that really took me down. Without getting into the gnarly details, it wasn't fun and I've been grieving pizza since this new discovery. So why would I go to Tony's with this new allergy? Because! I read that they offer a gluten free, dairy free pizza. Insane I know, but yet they offer it and I was PUMPED. When asking the waiter what I can get based on my needs, he responded to me like I was a war criminal. He was a Caucasian gentleman with brown hair. He raised his voice for all the diners to hear about my allergies, told me I couldn't get any pizza, and when I pointed out that there were options, he told me "I'll triple check if this is possible for you." When he came back and confirmed it was possible, he tells me they can do a gluten free pizza with vegan cheese and vegan pepperoni. It felt like the moment he heard 'gluten' and 'dairy,' he mentally categorized me as 'vegan' and stopped looking for ways to make the experience enjoyable. Yikes! Lol I fully recognize - girl, why did you go to a pizza spot with a gluten and dairy allergy? Yes I am not okay for this hahah but also I felt pretty embarrassed and treated really poorly. This experience doesn't reflect Tony's as a whole, but it was just a terrible interaction and that waiter made it real clear that he has no patience for anything that is inconvenient during his work shift.

Here's how it went: Service: friendly. Once off hold on the phone, and when picking up, the staff was pleasant for sure. The space: convenient walk up counter. Love a good sticker wall, and the display was nice to have. Value: honestly reasonable, especially comparatively. Ordered a small cheese and a small garlic and clam and two people could for sure share a small. Taste: other recent reviews are hitting it on the head - while the garlic and clam was decent (3.5/5), the cheese struck a core memory of elementary school cafeteria pizza (just without the tiny pepperoni diced cubes, 2/5), and both were just lukewarm, soft/not at all crisp, and just weren't packing much flavor at all. I can see Golden Boy being a workable late night solution for the City that Goes To Bed Early, but not much else beyond that at this point. Rating 3 stars at places with nice people working is not my favorite, so I'm glad that it's an institution and has stood the test of time and truly hope that they can/will calibrate on elevating their formula here, because I want to see this place deserve the love it gets.

The pizza has charred edges like Neapolitan which adds a nice smokey flavor. The crust has zero flop and a nice golden crust on top. Sauce has a tough of sweetness. I also enjoyed their use of fresh basil and the grated Parmigiano-Reggiano they throw on at the end. It's kinda like a new york slice, but a little gourmet? Very tasty for sure. Critiques: First off, each slice is $6-7, which is a bit steep. Maybe times have changed, but this is def not a budget meal, especially if you are eating multiple slices. Second, some of their already crispy slices have been sitting on display for some time and completely cooled down. When these slices are then reheated, there is a bit of an overcooked taste? Lastly, they only have a few topping options and the quantity of toppings on each slice (especially protein) is pretty sparse. I also ordered a slice of the Sicilian as well to mix things up. It was good, but the crust was just a touch too greasy for me.

When we arrived, our waitress didn't seem very knowledgeable about the beers, but honestly, that wasn't a big deal. My boyfriend ordered his pizza while I was still deciding what I wanted. His pizza came out very quickly, which we had no complaints about. The issue started when we had barely been seated for about 15 minutes. I went to the restroom, and while I was gone, the waitress approached my boyfriend while he literally had pizza in his mouth and a full beer in front of him and told him, "My chef said to charge you." He was confused but said okay because it made us wonder if they were closing. I checked the hours, and they weren't supposed to close until 10 PM--it was barely around 9 PM. I HADN'T EVEN ORDERED MY FOOD YET. I was still planning on ordering my own pizza, dessert, and a drink. Instead, we suddenly felt like we were being rushed to pay and leave. What made the situation even more unprofessional was that she left the payment device at our table for Apple Pay and then actually left the restaurant. She was the only server we had seen around, so we were basically left sitting there with the payment device and no server. We eventually had to get up ourselves to find someone so we could ask for boxes and return their payment device. No one had even asked whether we needed boxes, wanted anything else, or were finished ordering. My boyfriend didn't even finish his beer because at that point the entire vibe had changed and we just wanted to leave. We had driven an hour specifically to try this restaurant and were genuinely excited about it, which made the experience even more disappointing. I completely understand if a server's shift is ending, but there is a professional way to handle that--especially when customers are still actively eating and one person at the table hasn't even ordered yet. Someone could have simply explained that her shift was ending and introduced whoever would be taking over our table. Instead, we were made to feel like we needed to pay and leave. Unfortunately, the service completely overshadowed the experience. We really wanted to like this place, but being treated this way after driving an hour to come here was extremely disappointing and unprofessional.
