I've been a regular Americas tire company customer for years but just over a year ago i got new tires that went bad in less than 18 months! they took 30 minutes just to tell me there was nothing they could do since they were out of warranty. I was referred to Eric over at Bruce's by Mission Powder Coating when I contacted them to have my rims redone. I had been shopping for tired on tire rack & America's tire so I knew the going rate & if you've haven't read my review of Mission I was looking to have my rims powder coated & new tires put on. So I was asking Eric to go above & beyond as they were going to have to remove my old tires, deliver the rims, have my truck on a rack most of the day, put the new tires on & get my truck back to me by end of business (that's even a lot to write). So again in thinking this is going to be expensive, obviously I'm asking for a lot! Well I was shocked when he presented his estimate & his price out the door was about $20 more than America's tire & cheaper than I could've gotten them delivered & installed from tire rack. They did a full vehicle inspection and gave me a discount for a much needed alignment. Plus, they installed a burnt out turn signal bulb for free. I had never heard of Bruce's Tire (as I live in San Jose) till today when a good family friend recommended me to go there to get a nail removed from my tire. I got there at 8am and they took my car right away, and got everything fixed and out the door in 30 min and on my way back to work (in San Jose). The folks at Bruce's Tire have been taking care of all of my auto service needs for several years now. I was first introduced to Eric and Matt when I came in for some new tires after discovering their prices were competitive with the big warehouse stores and their tires were better quality to boot. I would like to start by saying that I am not the usual blogger or the reviewer of every merchandise I buy or get serviced. Although I would like to recommend Bruce's tire shop. in Monterey St, Gilroy, CA for their good customer relationship and competitive prices. I had a flat tire this morning and as usual I started my search over the internet to find a good economical tire shop; Bruce's Tire came on top of the yelp reviews and now I could tell why. They were not only able to tell me the prices on their available tires but they also educated me about the 'what if' situation with tires and what brands to look for apart from the ones that are highly advertised on media. However, since I had my prudent consumer hat on so I did my research and checked at a few other places for the prices. To my surprise even Costco's prices were higher and they didn't even have the tire in stock. Hence, I came back to the Bruce's Tire shop and their staff not only offered the same kind of tire at a much much lower price but even agreed to give me a drop incase they had to take the car in for a day. I have been going to this facility since 2008 and had no issues until recently. Unfortunately, due to financial set backs I had to take my car into a government program. They ruined my car. When I brought my car in to Bruces this September to diagnose and pinpoint the issue, Kevin turned me away. A compassionate employee looked at my car on his break and discovered that the bolts on my steering rack were about to fall off. It was the reason that my car was veering, slipping, etc. Kevin the manager told me that it would be a waste of his time to fix because when I took the other auto shop to court he would lose out on time and money. Obviously the safety of my children and I are of no concern. Especially when Kevin tells me " by the way don't drive your car because it is very dangerous and could be life threatening." Needless to say, I'm out of pocket over $500 for new tires, alignment, steering rack, and more. It was given to another shop who cares about the safety of my family and other drivers on the road. Went in to Bruce's to have a tire repaired that had a nail in it. They said the car would be ready in an hour since it was around lunch time and called me about 30 minutes later to tell me everything was good to go. When I got back to pick up the car everything was done and they told me not to worry about the repair fee since I found them on Yelp, they rotated the tires for me as well. I have bought tires from these guys since 2008 for my pickup, I have NO regrets! But recently I had a situation with the battery in my Suburban (which I bought somewhere else) While getting my alignment on my pick up I mentioned to Eric the problem I was having with my battery he told me to bring in my suburban. I did and they helped me by calling Interstate and having my battery replaced for free since it was still under warranty. The place I bought it from (South County Muffler) wouldn't take the time of day to just call they kept asking me for my receipt. Well as it turns out Interstate puts serial numbers on their batteries to track how old they are. I'm not sure why South County Muffler wouldn't know this but I this point I don't care. I will NEVER go back to them! Eric took the time to help me when Bruce's Tire had NOTHING to do with my battery issue. This is what it takes to keep people coming back to their business! I have previously purchased a set of tires from Bruce's in the past. For some reason I didn't consider them for mechanical work. I've been a long time customer of Precision Auto and always went there for oil change, etc. Recently they told me I needed all major fluids flushed and new front struts. They quoted me around $1500 for both. OUCH! On a whim I called up Bruce's tire to get a second quote- THANK GOODNESS!!! I almost fell over when they quoted me NEARLY HALF the cost. I just couldn't believe it. They got me in right away and even dropped me off at the gym. As they worked they found my cv boot was torn. It ended up being same price to repair whole axle as just the boot so I did that too. They had the car ready half hour earlier than promised AND quote on CV axle was $100 cheaper than expected. Overall I walked out still saving $500 even with that extra work done. I am so happy and pleased and car is running well so far. I will not be returning to Precision Auto , I feel ripped off. I had my flat tire fixed here before with excellent service. I came in today because the screw on one of my doors felt off and the door was separating. I was greeted by Dean the moment I walked in the office and I showed him where the problem was. Dean went back to find a screw that could fit. Luckily, Mike who also works here had one that worked for my car. Dean tightened the bolt and checked all four doors for me. Everyone here was so nice and helpful.
