Tucked away in beautiful olde town Orange on the corner of Chapman University lies this gem of an eatery. I believe this was the original Bruxie's, opened in 2010, now a chain of several restaurants. Did you know that in 2011 Bruxie's was the second most popular restaurant on Yelp? Cool beans! The menu has changed quite a bit since my prior visits several years ago. Fried chicken and waffle sandwiches are still available but without the numerous variations once present. Instead, more standard burgers and chicken sandwich fare seems to have taken over. My suggestion, stick to the original! My wife and I each upgraded to the Super Cluck. The waffle sandwich was as delicious as I remember, and more than enough for a meal. I think of this restaurant as a food truck on a foundation. We order outdoors and eat outdoors. But that's fine, because - Southern California. A great little corner to people watch. Fun place! Recommended, especially for those who wish to take a break from the nearby manic Mouse mayhem.

We tried Bruxie for breakfast & overall it was a mixed experience for us. The original chicken & waffle sandwich looked really good & had great flavor but for the price it just didn't feel very filling or worth it. I enjoyed it taste wise but I expected more portion wise. My husband also wasn't a fan of the sandwich because the waffle got pretty soggy from the coleslaw & sauce which made it a bit hard to enjoy. On the positive side my toddler really enjoyed the kids waffles with strawberries & whipped cream. I tried a bite as well & they were actually really good. Overall, it wasn't a bad experience but for the price point it's probably not something we'd order again unless we were specifically craving it.

I've had Bruxie's in the past but this most recent time I feel like the portion size has just gotten significantly smaller. Food was good, don't get me wrong, but it was just... smaller. Anyways, decent amount of seating. Parking is mostly street parking. Service was good.

The staff here is amazing. They make it so fun! Food is great and a great value. Try the Brussels sprouts!

5/5 Stars for food and service! First time visiting and it was everything I hoped for and more. The waffle is an absolute must-try--light, fluffy, and not too sweet. The chicken flavor and spice profile were amazing, with the only slight downside being that the batter fell away from the meat a bit. The dining area tables were a little sticky, but the stellar service totally overshadowed that. Love that they have a clean restroom as well--for a street spot like this, I was pleasantly surprised! The staff is wonderfully welcoming, and the fact that they offered my puppy a pup cup won us over completely. A really pleasant first experience!

The service here is wonderful! Ruben and Berlin are amazing they always have good attitude and service. The food is delicious and the place its self is always clean. This is my go to spot all the workers are very nice especially Ruben he makes sure all customers are well taken care of.

I had came for the Salmon Lox , I guess they don't have it anymore I was a little bummed, I decided to go with the chicken and waffles instead and my friend went with the strawberry and Nutella. I would give it 3.5/5. It was a bit on the sweeter side for me. The chicken and waffles 3/5- it was okay but not worth what it cost. The servings are a good shareable size. Service was quick and friendly staff. Plenty of seating areas.

Best waffle & fried chicken. What a great combination with some syrup. Been here many times before back in college yrs and it was still the same taste, good & friendly services. Only outdoor seatings with good vibe. Located right on the corner and next to Chapman University so lots of college folks plus in the heart of the Orange historical plaza. It can be busy anytime of the day so come early and parking is good since all are street parking (some metered & time restrictions).

Wow! I've eaten here for the past 12 years or so Always a 5! Today I ate there after not eating there for about the last 10 months I won't return no more. There's no more Waffle Burger. It's was the best The girl there told my wife n I we could get the smash burger that uses a bun put on a waffle We tried that. It came with a knife and fork because you couldn't hold it and the waffle could not hold the burger together. It did taste ok but not great there secret sauce was not used. I'm so disappointed and so is my family as we ate there gee maybe 100 times bringing our friends too many many times After my son graduated from the school across the street we would come many times even thou it was out of our way.

I had a really nice experience at Brixie in the city of Orange, right in front of Chapman University, on the corner of a busy intersection. I visited on a Sunday evening, and it wasn't too busy. They do have a small parking space, though I didn't use it, so I'm not sure how hectic it gets. What stood out was the staff. they greeted me right on the street and took my order outside, inviting people to come check out their menu. I tried their most popular crispy chicken sandwich, while it was decent, it was a bit ordinary for the price. But the real highlight was the Nutella smoothie. it was absolutely delicious, definitely a 5 out of 5. The restroom was okay. There is just one, gender-neutral, in the back. The vibe is really nice: modern and open, especially sitting in their patio area where you can watch the street. The tables were a bit uneven, but overall, it's a great spot, and I'd come back again if I'm in the area.

I'm from NorCal, but I've been here before many many years ago, but this review will be for last week. I was in town for a wedding and was hungry for some lunch stuck in the hotel. I was scrolling DoorDash and saw Bruxie and all the good memories of fried chicken came back to me. I didn't want anything too heavy, cause again, wedding so I elected for the chicken tenders and fries. OMG the hot spicy tenders was soooo crispy and juicy with a hint of spice that stays on your lips. I dunked it in their house made ranch with fries on the side. Perfection. The chicken was legit the juiciest tenders I probably ever had. I gotta try some of the other items next time.

I was completely caught my surprise! This sidewalk restaurant really was a cozy warm spot for delicious chicken, and filling waffles! When we arrived a young man greeted us from the front of the serving window, took our order then told us to sit anywhere, and they would bring the food. It was a chilly night in town, but the warmers were on, and it was quite comfortable. It was nice to sit outside and enjoy the open area, look at the neightbourhood while waiting for the food. When it arrived, it smelled amazing! The small bottle of maple syrup was more than enough for the entire dish, and I was REAL maple syrup. The waffles are crispy, they kinda had a chip like texture for the exterior and were more dense than most other waffles. I really enjoy this waffle recipe. The tenders were also on the same level of incredibleness as the waffles. These were big tenders, and the coating was so well flavoured and was crispy till the end. I wish I had room in my stomach for a second plate, this was just so incredibly delicious, I would move into this hood just to eat this more regularly.

SUPER CLUCK!

***Late Post*** Visited 01-07-26 around 7p on a Wednesday night. Food was good but just not as good as my first experience at the USC Village location. The associates outside working were welcoming, nice and professional. Service was great. Sat down to eat. I did enjoy the outdoor patio and dining areas. The vibes were on point. Definitely a great spot for young people to hang out and chill. I could see myself going back if I'm ever in the area or if I'm just in the mood to take a drive to grab my usual.

Going out on a limb and guessing no gluten free anything?

Hi Jody- we have some great grilled chicken and a grilled chicken salad you’d love. The team can walk you through the options.

Bruxie still do Wednesday Specials?

Hi. We are trying our best to keep our daily prices as low as possible in the middle of the unprecedented price increases we are seeing from our vendors. In doing so, we are just offering the best prices we can all of the time. Thanks for asking.

What type of oil do you fried the chicken?

Canola oil.

Is any of the fried chicken available without Rosemary?

Hi. Thanks for your question. Sure, you can ask for it to be cooked without the seasoned flour and just regular flour. Due to our marinating process, the chick will still be flavorful but without rosemary.

Hi do you guys deliver to arizona?

Yes if you pay a good sum for the delivery freshness not guaranteed tho hehe

Glad to see them back but is there any reason why they closed for 6 months?

In March of 2020, all Bruxie locations in SoCal closed due to CV-19. In early October 2020, two Bruxie locations reopened: Old Town Orange on Glassell, and Brea on Birch St. As of this report on 11/24/2020, only these two locations have reopened.

Which Bruxie can I still get the pastrami waffle sandwich?

The Orange location is back open and has the Hot Pastrami and Swiss on the menu. Such a great sandwich.

Hi is the dining area open, or just take out? Thanks.

As of 6/26 they are closed. All locations are temporarily closed per their website.

Is this location still close?

As of 6/26 they are closed. All locations are temporarily closed per their website.

Can you buy a single waffle on the side if you order the chicken strip meal?

Yes

Don't see the cheesy bruxie online...or prosciutto?

Hi Laurie, Thank you for interest in Bruxie! The Cheesy is listed now under the kid's menu, but you…

Do they still have the specials on Wednesdays?

Yes they do!! I follow Bruxie on Facebook, and they always post the specials. The most recent one is $5 4-piece tenders.

Do they serve the full menu during breakfast hours?

Yes, I believe they serve breakfast all day long.

Do they still serve the buffalo blue? I don't see it on their online menu.

No they don't because they took off the cheese from menu

Is this place vegan friendly?

Not really, the batter contains milk and eggs (assuming they use their "bruxmix" brand).

Do they accommodate for peanut allergy? update: thank you for all the answers! really enjoyed the…

We discovered this little corner place tucked away on Miraloma off of Kramer after a doctor appointment at Kaiser down the street because of the great reviews. Now we travel to this breakfast/brunch place from anywhere just to get the GREAT FOOD and friendly smiles! it always has people coming and going, to sit down or take out, so you can tell it is very popular. The seating is a bit limited, but we have never had to wait. Today, I had the three egg vegetable omelet (so lots to take home!), just packed with tomatoes, spinach and peppers, huge pieces of wheat toast and lots of berries and oranges. I also got a strawberry Belgian Waffle covered in fruit (it comes with cheese but I didn't like that). My husband got eggs and hash browns with sausage, which he devoured. Our entire meal was $50-something which I think was great considering I added on the waffle meal, so 3 total. Just delicious! I always thank the cooks. They deserve it! And they give you a huge cup of coffee (me) that is refilled and have many kinds of tea (him), and we always get the fresh squeezed OJ. I hope you try them out!

We checked out Snooze, and let me tell you the food was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Pancakes did not disappoint and the other entrees we ordered were all so delicious. I would highly recommend the whipped cottage cheese toast with a fig compote and hot honey for a light breakfast that is perfectly balanced. Now the reason for the low rating... our server. Let me preface this with every busser was running around clearing plates and such, but our server was terrible. I worked in restaurants as a busser, server, and bartender, and in all my years, I have never seen a server care less about their job, their time, or the customers experience. Cassandra was our waitress today, and she seemed to want to be everywhere else except at work. I had ordered a plain house coffee, and asked if it could be iced, to which she said yes, then proceeds to bring me a hot coffee anyway. When I asked for a glass of ice, she said she would take care of it, then took the coffee away for about 10 minutes until I went over to the service station to ask, when it was promptly brought to our table. Our water was refilled only once at the end of the meal after plates were cleared, and they had been empty most of the meal. I really enjoyed the food, and I want to come back, but if I am ever seated in her section again I might have to walk out in order to be respectful of everyone's time. I really hope the majority of servers do not work with this kind of lackadaisical attitude, because it would truly be a 5/5 experience if it felt like the servers were prioritized with making sure you were taken care of rather than trying to hide in service stations when your customers need something.
