They always give a really generous portion of whatever ingredients you choose, and everything tastes so good. The service is really good as well, the store is clean, and they have a parking lot available. "Bubbakoo's Burritos" is legit! I have to start off by saying that. The staff, made this place stand out even more. But before I get ahead of myself, let's start from the beginning. I came here because, well, I like burritos. They had plenty of parking so I thought, let me stop in. The outside of the building stands out more than the rest. It is very colorful. Inside is the same. It is also very clean to add. I made my way to the counter and that's where I met Henry, He and another employee (sorry I didn't get your name) who was amazing! They fought to answer questions I had, and mentioned that everything was made fresh. They make a lot of the toppings in house. I thought that was cool. Henry mentioned I could get a discount for downloading their app. I definitely did, but it was mainly because I had so much fun at the counter. They had combos to choose from, but but Henry suggested I should make my own. Adding toppings is as simple as asking. Henry wasn't afraid of adding cheese. He put on plenty of beef, wrapped it up. I sat down. I have to admit, happily, that I cried. The beef was marinated to perfection. The cheese sauce they added was magical, the peppers were soft, and the rice; which he recommended, was delicious. One of the people working behind the counter brought me my curly fries. They were pretty good as well. It was incredibly satisfied with my meal. I would definitely go back. But it was the staff that won me; customers appreciation is a dying commodity in dining. Let me start off by saying I have yet to find authentic Mexican food in NY. I love my home but we really need to get it together. With that said - Bubbakoo's is fine. It's not great, the food is expensive for what you get, and the waits are long but it's fine. One burrito and two quesadillas ran us $41. A bit steep but fine. My crunch chicken quesadilla was filled with flavor. Granted the tortilla kept falling apart but the flavor was all there. The birria quesadilla was "mid" as the kids say. The Philly cheesesteak burrito (follow me here) was terrible. The latter ended up being thrown in the trash. Again, we need authentic Mexican food here - not a Taco Bell type place with funky creations. The staff is super friendly which redeems this place and bumps it from 3 to 4 stars. They all greet you when you come in and walk you through the menu. They allow substitutions. The wait, however, for the food was LONG! We paid, one quesadilla came out, then we waited 25 minutes for the other quesadilla and the burrito. Mind you I watched them roll the burrito and it was 90% rice. Again, fine, I don't expect much in NY when it comes to this but for $41 total I expect a bit more. A few tables and chairs but this is definitely more of a grab and go type place. Will I come back? Most likely because my food was actually delicious, just way overpriced for what you get. read more

I really enjoyed trying a couple of burritos from here. Even though I ordered fairly similar chicken burritos from the menu (that has options offered and created for their menu) they had very different tastes based on the sauce and I appreciated that. The staff was pretty chill and the meal was very filling and enjoyable. I would definitely come back as I enjoyed this more than some of the other fast casual spots that offer a similar type of cuisine in the area. First time I went for a take out order, before ordering I asked the worker if I the burrito was planning to order was going to be spicy, he said no. I paid almost $20 dollars for a small burrito, the size of my palm and to my surprise it was super spicy and the tortilla was iced cold. Huge dissapoinment on the size, quality and the spicyness and the price as it didnt come with chips or anything in the bag. read more

When you gauge every Mexican fast-food chain by how it compares to Chipotle, you're bound to be disappointed quite often . Such was the case for me with this chain that just came to Hicksville. I wanted to like it because the staff was so friendly and knew the answers to all my questions about the ingredients in their food. Unfortunately, the WOW factor just wasn't there in the taste of my burrito. Bland, unimaginative, Expensive. Oh, and I never go back a second time to a fast food place that puts a tip screen in front of me when I am already shelling out $11 for some rice and beans. That says to me that the restaurant is not paying its staff properly, which means there's a good chance they are not putting a lot of care into what they do. If you are happy with Chipotle - and the one in Hicksville (as dirty as it often is) is one of the best around - stick with it . read more

Have been looking for a place to get burritos ever since Green Cactus in Wantagh shut down a while back. They were awesome. So I thought we'd give this new place a try..... Went there on a Saturday evening and we were the only people there so we went right up. There are plenty of offerings and the person behind the counter was very nice and explained all the combos to us. We had a buy one burrito get one free coupon and they honored it no fuss. I ordered 2 burritos from here in person. I ordered my first one and a few workers made it. I was not paying too much attention to them making it because it was kind of hectic to order. Anything outside chicken or beef they need to run around in the back and heat up. Anyway, I ordered my 2nd burrito with the hibachi steak which took them a while to heat up. After it was ready, they went to prep it for toppings down the line. The toppings worker was also working the register. Watched him check out the customer ahead of me on the iPad, handle cash, then attend to my burrito for toppings, NEVER CHANGING HIS GLOVES. He placed cheese on top of my burrito then went to grab and squirt sour cream into my burrito. In the process he dropped the sour cream container into the pico de Gallo, the drop caused the pico to splash everywhere. He grabbed a filthy rag from under the counter and wiped off the sour cream container. ALL IN THE SAME GLOVES. He touched my burrito and asked what other toppings I wanted. I told him that he just touched a dirty rag and then touched my food. His response was "oh, you're right" then went to change his gloves. I said sorry I'm not eating here, and walked out. The customer in front of me was telling the workers that pico should be tossed out since the sour cream container dropped right into it. They all seemed clueless. I didn't catch the rest of the convo since I walked out on discuss. Hope you all don't get sick from this place from dirty rag juices in your food. read more

I had high hopes for this place as an alternative lunch time spot, but unfortunately, unless it's personally recommended again, I don't plan on returning--here's why: Customer Service: I visited during the lunch rush, so I understand it was a busy time. That said, we were greeted kindly, and the staff was patient when I asked about the new menu. However, when I inquired about specific items, the staff didn't seem to know what was in them. One response I got was simply, "You can put whatever you'd like in it." That didn't instill much confidence. Additionally, once my food was prepared and brought to the register, I wasn't given my order--despite having a receipt--until every customer behind me had been assisted. The staff even apologized each time they served someone else before me, yet there was no clear reason why they could not give me my food . I believe the team would benefit from more thorough training, and it would help if the owner were more present to support during peak hours. Ambiance: As expected during lunch hours in Hicksville, there were no seats available. However, the space also felt cramped due to the size and arrangement of the tables. I'd recommend either using smaller tables, improving the lighting, or perhaps removing tables altogether if space is limited. Food: Most importantly--the food was unfortunately below average. The guacamole didn't taste fresh, the meal lacked seasoning, and the bag of chips was barely filled a quarter of the way. If you're only going to serve that small a portion, a smaller bag would help it feel less like a rip-off. The chips themselves were okay, though. Final Thoughts: This place has potential, but it clearly needs some love and attention from its ownership. With stronger management, staff training, and food consistency, it could become a solid lunch option. Bubbakoo more like bubbadoodoo. The Chrispy cheesy birria dilla has absolutely no cheese on it so it wasn't good and the Nashville burrito was super super dry. They forgot to put the sour cream on it I guess cause I didn't see or taste it. The workers were very slow and only recommended the two higher priced items. 40 dollars for probably the worst food experience I've ever had. There are so many other options out there like Moe's or qdoba. Don't waste your money here. read more
