I was so excited to try the fried pickles, as this is one of my favorite appetizers, but when I got their fried pickles I was sorely disappointed. Before I could even taste them, all I could smell wasnothing but flour, and as soon as I did taste them they were soggy and tasted just like flour and pickles, no additional flavoring whatsoever. We also tried their hot wings, which weren't terrible, but I would recommend more sauce for sure. I'm not sure about the salads either. They add potato straws to their salad, and in this case I had more potato straws then anything else in or on my salad, including the lettuce. Their balsamic dressing is way too sweet, and along with the potato straws it makes for a terrible salad. read more

I am very disappointed. As a parent, I am appalled at what took place earlier today. My son served in the Army and toured in Afghanistan. He went into your establishment this evening and was told they couldn't serve him. He wore a leather vest that displayed patches he received from the Army. He was told he had to take the vest off or leave. My son left. My son risked his life for your/our freedom. Much like every other military soldier. Is this how we treat them? I have shared this story with many friends, relatives and active duty soldiers. On a personal note, I also work for one of the largest hospitals in the state. I will share this with them....This is unacceptable. I will not set foot in your restaurant ever again. By the way, I wasn't able to post this without a star rating. Ok so came here with the fam on Monday. Yeah I know I totally forgot to check-in. My bad, in my defense I was totally starving lol. Anywho we had just finished cleaning my grandpas house and well no one wanted to cook. So we decided on Bubba's because we had never been before. For starters we got the chorizo queso dip and chips. Now let me just say that I am not a huge fan of chorizo in any way shape or form but I actually liked this queso. It was the right ratio of chorizo to queso. All around the table we had a 12 inch meaty pizza with some hot wings, the wings were super tasty, spicy and heat hot. My Mom had the Aloha burger which she said was delish! I mean grilled pineapple, BOOM!! I myself didn't taste it because but I don't like pico de gallo but hey to each his own. As for myself I got the Bacon Burger because heck why wouldn't you! It's a burger with bacon!! (sorry excuse the drool) I'm pretty simple when it comes to my burgers. Give me some meat, a lot of bacon some cheese and tomato and I'm happy! So it takes a lot to kill my burger vibe, but in this case I was vibin'. I would comment on some of the other food but apparently no one wants to talk to me while they are stuffing their face, but totally understandable. Now I'm not always of fan of loud restaurants but here at Bubbas it can't be helped. Basically a sports bar on roids lol. A lot of sports going on and a lot of lively conversations. Normally I steer clear of loud places because I get anxious around large crowds and because listening to loud car systems when I was younger has done some damage to my ears, but I did enjoy Bubbas because we were next to an open window it wasn't so bad. We are here for business from Arizona and saw this place close to the hotel where we are staying so we had to try it. Overall, I like Bubba's. TVs everywhere, great for groups to come watch a game with the picnic table seating. Also the bar seating is pretty cool since it is an open circle in the middle of the restaurant as opposed to against a wall. The food is edible-ish. "The Shark Bait" (shrimp and calamari) was pretty good. The beef and bean nachos were not good at all. The pizza was alright. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants a cool hangout spot for drinks, but not if you're hungry. read more

Me and my honey drive past this place hungry and wanted to check it out . It seemed busy so we sat on the bench as advised by the hostess. 15 mins later a group of guys walked in who obviously knew the hostess and many other workers I assume a regular or employee. My friend and I went for dinner here tonight. First off, our waitress did not know the specials, even when we showed her the specials list on our table she said no, that's not right. Our food did not arrive as ordered (guacamole is not avocado, wrong cheese on both our burgers, and more). But whatever, we didn't complain, we were willing to let it go. BUT THEN, THE WORST PART: drinking my iced tea I sucked up something through the straw and into my mouth. Disgusting! Still don't know what it was! I wish I had taken a picture to post here, it was so freakin gross! I feel nauseated thinking about it. Called the manager Shannon who concluded my tea was served to me in a dirty cup. She comped both our meals (we each had a $7 burger) and I thanked her but said I still would likely not be back. "I'm sorry to hear that and hope you change your mind. I'm happy to offer you a voucher if that would convince you to give us another chance." I initially declined, but my friend, who is a regular there, talked to me into agreeing to try them again. So I told the manager ok I'll accept the voucher. After speaking with the other manager Vanessa, she returned. "I already bought your meal. If you want to reverse that in exchange for a voucher we can do that." Ummmmm HUH??? Why offer something you're not going to honor? That is just crappy customer care. And our two meals added up to less than twenty bucks! You lost me as a patron, my friend the REGULAR CUSTOMER says she's not likely to go back again, and I will share this story often. We decided to try another new restaurant in town. As the name suggest, this one promises pizza, burgers and beer. The wait time was a little big long, but it's expected from an up and coming restaurant on a weekend night. I was pretty entertained with a local basketball game so I didn't really get to choose what I wanted from the menu. Which I didn't mind since I like trying new things. I left it up to my wife to choose for me. The room is full of TVs with sports game on 90% of them the other 10% have music videos going. We first started with fried pickles. You get a choice of sauce. Ranch or bubba sauce. Never tried bubba sauce before. So we got both. The bubba sauce is a tangy sweet bbq sauce. To be honest, I didn't like it. Although my mother in law did. So obviously a taste preference here. My wife and I ordered their Hawaiian pizza. It came with Canadian bacon, Bubbas smoked bacon and of course pineapple. The pizza had a great garlic smell to it when it came out. I was disappointed that it didn't taste as great as it smelled. It was bland. No flavor. I had to order a side of ranch to make it up for the lack of taste. The pineapple had no flavor. Although the Bubba bacon was good. My father in law had a burger and said it was great. Next time I visit I will try the burger instead. It might change my opinion of this place with a burger. read more

Let me preface this by saying that I'm not a huge fan of star/numerical rating systems. I would actually give this place something closer to 3 stars, except that Yelp flags 3 stars as "A-OK!" while flagging 2 stars as "Meh, I've experienced better," which is closer to my experience here. Bubba's is definitely a sports bar, and makes no pretense of being anything else. Americana decor greets you almost immediately, with red, white & blue punching you in the face as you walk in. Unlike some sports bars, which go for the darker look, Bubba's is brightly lit, with metal/chrome fixtures everywhere reminiscent of an old-school diner look, which is something I appreciated. The booth they sat my friend and I in was enormous, which in my book is a synonym for comfortable. I could've easily seated 6 of me on one side alone. The service was super friendly, though a touch forgetful. My friend asked for a condiment on the side, which was initially forgotten and brought to him 15 minutes after he asked for it. Drink refills were also a bit slow, but not to the point where we were drying up in the desert. Our waitress was cheerful throughout our stay, however, which is always nice. The menu is what you expect at a sports bar, with the usual appetizers, burgers, pizzas, salads, and so forth. Since the sign outside the restaurant says burgers and pizzas, I went with one of each, along with an appetizer and a side of "fire fries," which are billed as spicy. Unfortunately, most of the food consisted of salt bombs, which is pretty common for a typical sports bar. The flavor underneath the salt, however, was pretty good, with the jalapeno cream cheese on the burger I ordered being quite nice. Unfortunately, the bun the cream cheese was spread on was not up to the task of supporting it, and disintegrated as soon as I attempted to take a bite, so I was forced to knife and fork it. The pizza, in contrast, had entirely too much cheese on it, but the underlying sauce was decent enough, if a bit oversweet. I came into Bubba's thinking it would be a typical sports bar, and that's pretty much what I got. The service was friendly but a bit scattered, the food was salty but had some underlying good points, and there are TVs everywhere showing various sports channels. If an NHL playoff game had been showing, it wouldn't have been a bad place to hang out. read more

I really like coming here because the food is pretty tasty and the TVs are playing pretty much any game that is on. Their burgers have bacon in the patty and it actually tastes wonderful, if a bit greasy. If you go, dipping your fries in ketchup just will not do. I suggest their shotgun sauce or their Bubba's sauce. Even during really busy times, I am seated pretty quickly. This is definitely a really casual place, so I would put this place as an alternative to B-Dubs any day. I have been here on a number of occasions and have always been met with great service. Now for the bad. During busy times, good luck finding any parking. They need way more parking, especially because Cheddar's doesn't have enough spaces either. Second, the bathrooms need some serious bug spray. I have found monster spiders and other unidentifiable insects roaming their bathrooms on more than one occasion. Honestly, I would give them one more star if the bug thing was remedied. I've had pizzas and burgers here. Both have been yummy. The appetizers are really the unsung heroes of this place. They come out quickly and are enough to share between 4 people. read more

I'm only leaving 1 star because I didn't have the option to leave 0 stars. We were celebrating a birthday on September 1st and attempted to pay with a Visa gift card. Our server Caleb told us it was declined but I confirmed the balance just prior to dining. The next morning I logged in to Visa to see what the issue was only to discover that the balance was now $0 and someone used the funds to transfer to PayPal. I then reached out to the management at Bubba's and was told they would look into this and call me back. At no point was the gift card out of my presence, other than to give to Caleb to pay. Not only did management not call me back, they failed to rectify the situation by offering to reimburse or issue a gift card to their restaurant. This is highly disappointing and shows a lack of proper customer service or management. Caleb it's disappointing that you chose to steal from my mom on her birthday. Hmm... Chain food... Let me just say that this is the first time I've broke from my anti-chain food state of mind. The food here is good and plentiful and the atmosphere is energetic. I had alway avoided coming here because of the continual long lines that I see every time I pass by but decided to give this place a shot. I will admit that the wait to get in was over 45 minutes for a party of 5 but well worth it. Their menu items are very fair priced and the portions are huge. And did I mention that the food is really good?! I had the sunrise burger that came with a soft egg and bacon on top of my burger and it was to die for. They also have a large draft beer selection that features many craft and local beers as well as your typical flavored waters (bud, coors, bleh...). Great place to get a beer(s) and some good casual food. It's all basic American fare but they do everything very good. Been here at least 6 times and always been happy w my food order. I have ordered pizza, burgers and chicken sandwiches. They are all delicious. Burgers are hand formed patties, not frozen shaped pucks. Pizza is thin crust and they have a good variety to choose from. The buffalo chicken sandwich was a huge breast and tasted great. The beer selection is nice. Good variety on tap and usually have decent specials going on. It's always a great place to watch sports as they have a ton of 60"(about) flat screens all over so eat seat has a great view. I have been to this sports bar/restaurant about 10 times since it was opened a few years ago. In my opinion, we are fortunate the Bubba franchise, out of NC, chose Albuquerque as one of their locations. It is my understanding there are only about 9 Bubba's in the U.S. I always bring my, out-of-town, friends/guests here to show it off. It's my GO TO BAR for sports, good food, and lively atmosphere. There are 64 TV's scattered throughout the bars (2 bars)/restaurant, the most in ABQ. A great place to watch your favorite sports programs. Because they have super high quality satellite dish - at your request... they will find the sports program you are wanting to view. Don't let the FULL parking lot scare you away. After 5PM, the lot is always full, however, once you get inside there are plenty of tables. We have never had to wait, for a table, more than 10 minutes. The staff is very friendly/helpful - great burgers, (my favorite- burger w/bacon/cheese /fried egg), pizza, and salads. Average prices.. If you like draft beer (Alaskan White; which is hard to find), this is the place for you. A huge selection, and the beer is served, ice cold, at 33 degrees. Try it you'll like it! read more

We were told that we were not going to be able to be loved to a warmer table but another table got to sit where we had requested and another party was moved back inside and our server was nothing but a bad server, not once checked on us, the only way we were able to communicate to our server is talking to everyone else. read more
