I have been to Bubba's twice since it opened. Both occasions have gone well. The ambiance is great. It is like a giant sports bar with a ton of TVs. Each one plays something different. From sports to music videos of the songs that are playing the background. The chairs at both the bar and tables are comfortable and the lighting is just right. They have a full bar and even have a couple of Bubba's specialty drinks. They have beer on tap, with local beer too. My first server I had was a bartender and she was very knowledgeable. She was friendly and had great charisma with my friend and I. She took care of my friend and I very well. My second server was also very friendly, but didn't seem to be as knowledgeable. She may have been new. She also seemed to have a hard time with maintaining all her tables at once. Overall the experience was good. The food on both occasions was wonderful. Had a burger and a pizza. Both we delicious and made great leftovers the next day! Will be returning with more friends. read more

Is this how Albuquerque treats people? Traveling this week with a mission. I'm in town in advance for a meeting in October with about one hundred attendees expected. I'll be putting together a booklet with recommendations for Restaurants near the hotel. I'm looking for places that may not be available in these people's home towns and on my first night in town Bubba's caught my eye. They will make my list! With an * warning people to stay away! When I was greeted by the hostess and I told her I was dinning alone she asked me to sit at the bar. I agreed. It took a bit longer to get the attention of one of the girls working behind the bar than I would have liked but not too bad so far. When I ordered a Diet Coke she asked for an ID??? When I repeated my Diet Coke order she said that if I wanted to sit at the bar I needed to show her an ID. I am 60 and did not order alcohol and I did not want to sit at the bar, they asked me to! I provided my Illinois drivers license and ordered a pizza. Now the best part, she tells me that I have to give her a credit card or pay cash before she can put my pizza order in. If it is Bubba's policy to treat people from out of town as potential dead beats I'll do my very best to keep as many of them away as possible. I canceled my pizza and went down the street and had an enjoyable dinner with a staff that treated me with respect. Paid my bill and added a generous tip. read more

Went there today for my nephew's 22nd birthday. There are lots of mounted big screens throughout the restaurant showing different Sporting events. The atmosphere is that of a typical sports bar. I get their Bacon Avocado Sandwich when I go here and enjoy it very much so. Of course, I make a few tweaks to it but it's just preference. It's next to the movie theatre which is super convenient if you wanna go eat before catching a flick or even after. There's a few chairs at the bar that are quite creative and funny because when you sit on them, it appears as if you had a man's or woman's bottom... or at least when I went they had them. So food, location and appearance are good, that's a star for each. But I had a terrible experience one of the last times I went and that's the reason it knocked off 2 stars. What happened was my friend and I came by on a night that was pretty empty, must have been during the week and we were sat down quickly. However, we ordered our food and waited over an hour to get it! Mind you, we had to tell them about it before it was addressed. At no point did our waitress come and check on us after she took the order. A group of gentleman sat down far after we did and she went over there often and stood there talking to them for a while. It bothered me that she couldn't come over and ask if we needed anything because the table she was at was LITERALLY right next to us. We had to ask a waiter to bring us another drink and he was really rude about it. He made a stank face and walked off without a word. It was a while before we received the drinks as well and when he dropped them off, he just put them on the table and walked off again without saying anything to us. Any way, after receiving our order and eating, we spoke to a manager on our way out about our experience. We were hardly acknowledged and didn't even get an apology. This truly caused me to never want to go back. However, I did go back once for a different event but never after that. Excellent service. Our server Athena was on point! Friendly, efficient, attentive and helpful. The meal was delicious. The fried pickles were crisp and came out piping hot. The Philly cheese steak was moist and also served hot. Shoestring seasoned fries good enough to eat plain. The wedge salad was eh, but most are. Lots of sensory input with "more TVs thank seats. Food was good had the habanero burger unfortunately it really did not have the kick I was hoping for. Looking back I should have gone with the sunshine, can't go wrong with a fried egg on your burger. The burger itself was very good. Cooked well and very flavorful. Fries are thin, crispy, and delicious I could have ate those all day. The service from our server was well above average, I however forgot to get her name. The first time we went there it was perfect the server and all. This time I have only been this angry at a restaurant once before and we eat out alot. Drinks were not refilled, server was a jerk we asked why there were only 4 onion rings on the plate and he stated thats how they come and walked off. Then comes back with another customers plate and said "see thats how they come with 4" and walked off. Ok. Brought the family here to have some food. We are not a drinking family but they do have a big variety of different drinks on tap. We had the pleasure of having CINDY be our waitress. I have to say first of all she tail care of us like we were part of her family. She really cared about how we wanted our food and made sure we were good with drinks as well. I mean come on how many waitresses make sure you have the small things like ranch and or cheese shaker for pizza. She also made some good recommendations on the food we ordered. The burgers are fantastic along with the garlic twists. This place being a chain is really good with the great waitress to make sure you are not only satisfied but feel right at home. It was honestly like being at home and having mom take care of you and making sure you are happy. We will definitely be back and also be asking for CINDY to be our waitress. I've been here twice. The food was good, the Long Island iced tea was underwhelming. The third time, I got a burger and found a dead roach in my food. It's the middle of winter, a hair I would be more understanding, but finding a dead roach is on another level. When we asked to speak with a manager to being it to their attention that was the problem. The manager presented themselves as the owner and asked what he could do. If I could give this place negative 20 stars I would I am beyond disgusted with this place. I wouldn't suggest eating here unless getting GLOBS Of hair in your food is your thing! My burger literally had a big chunk of hair in it and when I told the manger Shannon she said "there is no way this is from us" AS IF she was blaming us for planting a wad of hair in a burger!! I felt it was super unprofessional of her being the manager, She finally ended up agreeing to comp the burger but this was after making it seem like it was our fault! the server was not an issue at all he was really nice and actually made an effort to make it up to us unlike the manager! I've been to Bubba's 33 a handful of times. Each time my experience gets a little worse than the time before. Today's experience was the final straw, and I won't be back. We ended up sitting in the bar area, which today was louder than usual. It was so loud our server had a hard time communicating with us. We ended up ordering one beer and 12 wings and fried pickles. It took a while for our beer to arrive and even longer for our food. The hot wings we order we couldn't finish because they had a smokey flavor. They always have a little smokey flavor, but it was very overwhelming today. Our server did come by and check on us one time after the food arrived, but then she disappeared. We waited for a while to get our ticket, but eventually got so frustrated and decided to walk out (which we never have done before anywhere). Finally we got notice, by the manager as we walked out into the parking lot. Apparently, they are only allowed to give customer service inside the building. We explained that we had experience poor customer service, and her only response was "well you should have asked to see a manager". We explained that we couldn't because we couldn't find our server, her response to this was "there are lots servers all around". Not once did she try to set things right or offer a sincere apology. We were told that they would take care of our tab, but would write down our lincense plate number and call the police. At this point I went in to pay the bill, life is too short to deal with bogus drama that doesn't have to exist after all. I'm very disappointed with Bubba's 33 and only would recommend them if you don't mind very slow and crappy service, mediocre beer and food, and an environment that promotes hearing lost. read more

If Texas Roadhouse was to make a sports bar it would be Bubba's oh wait thats exactly what this place is minus the peanuts all over the floor. I came here to watch the NFL playoffs and just like every new resturant that pops up in Albuquerque this place was packed when we finally got seated we we were greeted immedietly by our waitress whcih was impressive due to how packed the place was. Service was great here and there also really isnt a bad seat in the house as big flat screens are located everywhere. Beer is extremly cold and food is pretty medicore. I had the bacon guac burger and was a bit to greesy for my liking the pizza was also pretty meh but overall I wouldnt mind coming back to drink some beers and watch the games. Cool spot. read more

I'm glad they don't tout themselves as a "Family Restaurant", with the noise level and the strictly sports bar feel I would never feel comfortable bringing my daughter here. Regardless of the number of toddlers and young children I saw here on a packed Friday night. If you're one to want to see a game this would a be a great place to stop at. Met a group of friends for happy hour, I can think of a few places that are better for a medium size group to meet to blow off some steam and wind down from a busy week. That being said, neither the food nor the service was bad. Refills and plate clearing could use some more expediency. At least our server and the bussers were friendly. My burger was very good, and finally cooked the way I asked for it. Bubba's sauce is nothing special though, just some funkified bbq sauce. I wish they'd purchase some better frozen fries, the shoestring variety never thrills me. Get a side of the garlic mayo! First of all I understand this place is new and a lot of people want to try it out, but there was an hour wait when there seemed to be quite a few tables open- perhaps they were short on waitstaff or maybe they were reserved I couldn't say. Anyways when we sat down the background noise was so loud with TVs and music blaring our waitress had a hard time hearing us and forget about a dinner conversation unless your yelling across the table, which people do making the place even louder!
