I enjoyed eating at this place very much. It's a little pricey, but the food is very good and the place is kind of fun. I ordered the "Sexy Turkey Leg." It's a giant smoked turkey leg and it comes with choice of one side. The turkey leg was humongous, and was quite tasty. It goes for $16.99. For the side, I had the cole slaw and they did give me a generous portion. There is no waitress service here, so you order at the counter, pick out any table you want and pick up your food when it's ready. They have a couple of tables that are set up as jail cells, so if you're with your family and want to have some fun, you might try to snag one of these if they are available. Beware the bartender will serve you till you're drunk and she will not cut you off. She will instead call the cops on you so you can get a DUI ticket. I do not know why she did this she could've simply asked me that I have had too much to drink, but she did not do that instead. She refused to honor the price listed on their web site and hung up on me . I asked her to please explain why they have not taken down their old menu and prices and I quote" well you can call google and tell them to take it down" I was shocked that she would even suggest something like to a customer. Update to my previous review and I am reducing the stars to 2. Ordered the ribs again expecting same decent ribs, however, when you order them without sauce you get a chance to more fully taste the meat. The meat was almost inedible with the amount of salt added. I ate 1/2 a rib and vowed to not buy ribs here again. Will give the chicken and tritip a chance but no more ribs. We came around 5:30pm and it was not that busy. There were a lot of tables available as well as TVs around. The decor was interesting and they even had jail cells in the back with tables in them. The menu ranged from appetizers, burgers, plates, and drinks. I though I was hungry and ordered the 3 meat combo ($22.99) with tri-tip, smoked brisket, and pulled pork with a side of mac n cheese. I also ordered a Stella (the smallest size for $7.99) while my coworkers ordered the Smoked Chicken Mac N Cheese as well as the 3 meat combo with baby back ribs, roasted chicken, tri-tip, and fries. We saw probably one person in the kitchen but our food came out fairly quickly. I don't know where everybody else was in the kitchen. The food definitely needed some BBQ sauce which was what they gave us when we asked for it. Besides, this wasn't Texas BBQ so the flavor was there but definitely needed the BBQ sauce. The tri-tip was okay and was a bit dry. The smoked brisket was delicious to me, and the pulled pork was just okay. The mac n cheese I chose as a side was okay as well. Well, this place has a ton of potential. Huge and wonderfully decorated restaurant. Nice outdoor dining and fun indoor area. We went knowing that it's the same owner who used to the burger joint near the Starbuck, which closed during the pandemic and turned into a chicken place. Me being a vegetarian missed their veggie burgers. My husband found Big Bubba's and that they serve burgers. All to discover that this menu doesn't exist anymore. The lady tried to work with me on vegetarian items I could order that didn't work with my strict tummy issues. For those of you that can eat fried food, she said they can make a sandwich with onion rings and all the other toppings. They serve fries, coleslaw, mac n cheese and more. I ordered a small side of mac n cheese. My husband had the brisket sandwich. He looked satisfied. We got a kick out of the lady calling people when their order was ready on the speaker. Ordered ribs, brisket, sausage, coleslaw, chips, ranch beans... No smoke flavor in any of the meat, no smoke ring. Brisket was flavorless, sausage was average, ribs were mushy off the bone and the best tasting of the 3. Sauce was good but nothing standout. Chips were tasteless, beans were boring but had a bit of spice. I was afraid to eat the coleslaw, definitely not fresh and tasted old and fermented. Praying I don't regret eating here later. I popped in for lunch yesterday cause I was in the mood for BBQ and this place was nearby while I was driving. My first mistake was not reading the reviews before I went in. At first, I loved the outside decor and wilderness-lodge vibe to it so it felt welcoming.The first red flag was that this place was dead empty on a Saturday with no cars in the parking lot. I thought it was closed until I went it. Again, the theme of this place is really nice, like a southern-country version of Rainforest Cafe. If only they had put in as much effort on the taste of the food as they did with the decor. I ordered a combo plate with "hot sausage links" and "brisket" with fries and beans. My boyfriend had a "Nashville hot chicken" sandwich. The second red flag was that our food was ready in less than 5 minutes. I'm not a BBQ expert but I've been to enough places to know that the best BBQ food usually takes a while to prepare because it's made fresh. But not this place. Upon opening the plastic containers, I just stared at my food thinking "I've made a huge mistake". The "hot sausage links" literally tasted like Oscar Meyer hot dog wieners! There was no seasoning, no spice, no herbs, nothing. I swear it tasted like a regular hot dog and not even the good kind you would get off a street vendor. The "brisket" was five long strips of chewy meat that again, had no flavor and was so thick and rough that it felt like I was eating a piece of Salisbury steak from the Banquet TV dinners. Even worse, was there they were both lukewarm like the food had been sitting there for hours before we arrived. And to top it off, you have to add the BBQ and spicy mustard sauce on your own so my food was not only cold, but it extremely dry. Also, the spicy mustard sauce is just aioli mustard, which came out of a refrigerator. When I told them that my food was cold, I was expecting them to serve me a fresher plate but the cook literally microwaved it in front of me! LOL! Our total came out to $74, for a plate of microwave chewy meat and a Nashville hot chicken that tasted as dry and flavorless as a bucket of paint. The cooks in this kitchen are not experienced BBQ people and based on other reviews, it looks like there's no attempt by management to change this. Late February we took our 2 grown kids and their families to Bubbas, 10 of us in total. After each ordered & I went to pay, the person at the register stated there was a 25% "service charge". It caught me off guard, but I paid without question. 25% of our bill was a huge amount. Could you explain why this was tacked on? The customer orders at the counter. Customer seats themselves. Customer picks food up at the counter. Customer fills their own sodas. Customer busses their own table. At no time did staff come to the table to ask if everything was ok. *** Food was ok for a chain bbq.
