Finally we have tried Buca Di Beppo in Brea since we often visit this plaza but never dine here. I am glad that I visited Buca which left me a very pleasant experience. We walked in Buca without the reservation and waited about 40mins and got our table. I really enjoyed seeing so many vintage photos hung on the wall which breifly made me getaway from the reality. I was suprised the food here was delicious and in big portion. Buca Trio Platter ($39) was great, I love the Spicy Shrimp and Fried Mosszrella, they were just so delicious. Prosciutoo Stuffed Chicken ($38) was amazing, one of favor here now. It has so many layers of tastes. Lasagna ($38) was delicious and huge portion, I felt I was like Garfield when I was eating that, haha. Mixed Green Salad ($24) was refreshing. Minestroni Soup ($5.99) was a little bit cold for me. Tiramisu ($18.99) was a little bit sweet for me. The service was good, our waitress was very nice. I saw so many guests coming here to celebrate the birthday, I think they can get a complimentary gaint ice-cream here which is absolutely great. Too bad my birthday passed 2 weeks ago, I will definitely try that birthday ice-cream next year. read more

ALDO WAS FANTASTIC! I cannot lie... my family is kind of annoying. They made several, several requests and he accommodated all of them with a smile. Not to mention, my father spilled water all over the table when Aldo brought our appetizer, and he adeptly stepped out of the ah with our food and cleaned it up quickly without complaint. The food here is absolutely delicious! · "Hands down, some good food I've had! I love me some Italian food. I have tried their pizza and pasta, salads & desserts. They are always consistent at all their restaurants locations. You will always be served family style portions. Go big or go home, right!! There was also plenty of room for bigger groups. I am an American Muslim and my wife wears the head cover hijab and my daughter also came with us so three of us walked into the restaurant. We were greeted right away by one of the waitresses who asked us what kind of seat we wanted, we told them a booth so there was only one left she went right away and cleaned it and about two minutes later we were seated. Then our menus were brought out about a minute later very cordial very kind. Across from our table was a Hispanic family and then there were other white Americans also sitting in other tables and then two tables down was an African-American couple. Not once did any of the employees make us feel unwanted or feel like they were being rude by any means. On the contrary both waitresses were welcoming and kind. We ordered our food and it took only 15 minutes or so for them to bring it out but the entire time our waitress is not only very kind to us but also replaced our drinks during the entire process while we were there before and after eating without us even asking. The ambience was beautiful the service was great and the food was what you would expect from a family Italian Sicilian restaurant. We ordered the chicken Parmesan with spaghetti and my wife ordered the fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp and she was taken a back by how nice the sauce was. We were taken aback by how big the portions were and the chicken was perfectly tender perfectly cooked the sauce had just the perfect amount of basil flavor to make you feel like you're walking into a super fancy Italian restaurant even though this is a casual dining establishment. I love the fact that it's family owned so that tells you that they actually put their heart into the food that they serve and make. She grabbed them 30 minutes later explaining she has a big party but served us warm alcohol. At least offer to get us new ones for waiting 30 min and not the old ones you left sitting out. You know? Who likes warm champagne?! I still took a deep breath and tried to give her patience because she was an older server and was very kind. I just wish she didn't spend her whole shift coming back to us to explain why she's taking so long instead of taking that time she's talking to us, to grab what we ordered. When we try to flag her down for something she forgets, she's standing around talking to another server for a good 10 min. Just came off unprofessional and turned me off a bit..to complain to a couple trying to celebrate their anniversary. Will come back for the food and ambiance. The chicken was really good and I will definitely get it again. My boyfriend tried it and he wanted to switch dishes, but I absolutely did not allow him to. The chicken was just very juicy and tender. For the sides, I used to always get hummus, but I didn't know that they had an eggplant dip similar to baba ghanoush. Now that I have tried it, it is my go to. You can really taste a roasted eggplant in there and the texture is similar to hummus. My other go to side are the artichoke hearts because they are so big they are roasted and it's a good portion. Overall this remains to be one of my favorite restaurants in the area and I will be back.

I also got the wet fries with gravy ($6.75) which was just fries topped with their gravy. I didn't realize just how big the portions were but it was a huge pile of fries. The interior reminded me of an old school diner. When I arrived there was a long line for the drive through, but ordering inside I got my food within minutes of ordering. The portions were great for the price and the pastrami was tender. I'd be interested in their other offerings.

Basically: The food was fine but our waitress later complained about our situation VERY LOUDLY, almost screaming, so that we were able to overhear (we didn't get her name but her hair was in a bun). I came here for a 16th birthday and usually turning 16 is a special occasion, right? Well, this restaurant made my mood worsen and made my reputation of the workers go down. While the food was great and the service AT FIRST was amazing, there were problems. The employees did everything they were supposed to and after we finished our food, we were supposed to wait for our guardian to arrive to pay the bill. However, she was running quite late due to her needing to pick up a meal for my SICK father who needed to go to the hospital but couldn't at the moment. These days, he can usually only eat one meal a day because of his sickness and so our guardian of course had to take the meal to him for his HEALTH. Our waitress told us around 2:30 pm that we needed to leave soon because they had another reservation at 3:30 pm. I asked if we could pay up front when our guardian arrives and sit up front so they could clean up. She told us to pay her and that we could stay at the tables until 3:00 pm. So, we stayed until then and because our guardian still hasn't arrived, I moved to a different table alone so they were able to clean up and my friends went to the front. While waiting, a few of my friends (who stayed) and I overheard the waitress who served us. She was complaining that "THE MOM ISN'T COMING", "THEY ARE SITTING THERE NOT LEAVING", and "THIS IS RIDICULOUS". Ruined my mood. Especially while already being stressed about the whole situation and everything being "messed up", the waitress who served us even made me feel more stressed, angry, furious, and even belittled. My guardian had tipped her a little extra because we "felt bad", but we really were trying everything we could to have our guardian come in time, or make it so that they could clean up (which they weren't doing anyways when we left the table). This experience was horrible. Made everyone very angry. Ruined our whole day. It's safe to say that we won't be returning to this location again. read more

I went there last night for dinner with my boyfriend, who rightfully told me that a review on this isn't worth his time! However, I will write a review to save some of you - who expect to be treated as smart, valuable customers - the trouble of trying this one out. We were greeted by 4 people (hostesses and servers) as soon as we got there. All 4 of them were just sitting there chit chatting. We were told there was a 25 minute wait. We were ok with that so we decided to wait. We asked if we could wait at the bar and so we went inside. Sat at the bar for 10 minutes only to realize that there were empty tables everywhere and still they were making people wait to be seated. Btw throughout the 10 minutes the bar tender ha his back tuned at us and didn't even say "hi". Anyway, then we were seated at a table and realized that barely 1/3 of the tables were full. The place was almost empty! Still they sat a family right next to us when they could have seated them a little further away given the MANY empty tables. We ordered and they brought the salad and bread and salad plates but NO SILVERWARE! What are we?! Savages?! To eat with our bare hands??! We asked for silverware and they just threw (literally threw) 2 sets on our table! The salad was very good and generous portion!! The drinks were good too but we were too upset to really enjoy anything at that point. The spaghetti with meatballs was below average. Too much garlic and not at all tasty. And what's up with the not-really-round but huuuuge meatballs...?? We had way better spaghetti with meatballs at the kiosk at San Diego Zoo!! I should also say that the place is not very hygienic since there is dust everywhere, filthy bottles for olive oil and balsamic vinegar and the table right across from us was dirty (ever since we got there) and had 5-6 dirty glasses on it that they bothered to pick up as we were leaving!! First of all, Buca has the best chocolate cake we have ever eaten. My husband and I are chocolate cake fans and we have yet to taste a cake that can beat Buca's huge slab of Triple Chocolate Cake. This alone makes the trip for us all the time. Food is always yummy. Our favorite dish is the baked rigatoni. We are able to share the small portion and even have some for leftovers. Service usually is a hit or miss. Last time we went, the server was personable and attentive, but we still had to ask him to refill our water a couple of times. Once, we had a server that was MIA most of the meal. Good thing about Buca too is that they have coupons that they send you via email from time to time, so we usually save $5 or get a free appetizer. All you have to do is sign up through their website or ask at the restaurant. Also, once, when I left my cell phone in the restaurant, we called Buca and they told us that they had put it away for safekeeping and to drop by anytime.
