This is always a fun place to eat and we've been coming to this chain for years. We came on a Saturday night and it wasn't too busy at 6pm. The food was great, portions are big, and overall we are very pleased. Service wise there were a few hiccups. Our main entrees didn't for a loooong time and our dirty appetizers plates were never taken away. For about 15 minutes we sat there while the plates were sitting and my glass of water empty. Someone in our party ordered a cup of coffee and even after appetizers it still didn't arrive. I actually spoke to the manager on site at the time and she was really helpful and had the food brought out shortly after that. She made sure that we were taken care of and we really appreciate her. The server also came by to apologize, stuff like that happens we all have a bad day. Glad that we said something so that they knew what was happening and fixed it.

Lasagna (I cut it in the middle). Volume-wise, it fills less than half of the container.

I ordered lasagna to go, noted to be good for 3-4 people, $40, $50 with tax and tip. I was impressed with the size of the aluminum container 12" x 6" at the top, 3" tall and tapering toward the bottom indicating the it would be substantial. I opened the cover at home to find the lasagna only filled 2/3 of the container and actually much less than that considering the vertical sides of the lasagna. Suddenly, my view changed from "a pretty good deal" to "another over-priced deal". I ate 1/4 of the lasagna + noodles I added for lunch. The lasagna was great! It just happens to be very small. I am grateful that they were open on Thanksgiving!!!

Okay. So my parents are in town and I got a takeout order for them. Whatever... the food is pedestrian and underwhelming. I expected that, although this Buca is worse than the average Buca. I'm giving them two stars largely based on the immense number of fake reviews that they purchased. Look at all the recent reviews. Look at how many call out "Cynthia" or "Emily." When do you see that? Who remembers the server's name at a chain restaurant? Am I supposed to believe that around 50 people did in the past few months and they all had a flawless 5-star experience? Please. Note that this place has like 480 not recommended reviews, all of which are terrible. Also this is the saddest neon sign that I have ever seen. I think if you want a image of the quality here, check out how there is zero attention or maintenance to this thing.

Not going to lie: came here after I heard of many of the stores closing I had a great time. I so liked the ambiance. Guilty pleasure ? Maybe. But the food was very good and our server , Andrea , was awesome. I had a great time and I actually enjoyed the food. The service was awesome

Penne alla Vodka Prosciutto Stuffed Chicken Carbonara lemonade

Food was absolutely delicious. I ordered the Chicken Carbonara and the Penne ala vodka. Those are my two favorite go to orders. All the food is fresh and with great quality. The whole ambiance had great aesthetic and service. Both Bianco and Emily helped me a ton with any questions that I had. Even the manager, Dalia, personally answered and helped me out during busy times just to show how important they value the customers. By far the best restaurant you'll find. Family friendly and easy. Matias assisted me with any to go boxes and saw that I needed some. They have an amazing team, huge kudos to the kitchen. 5/5 stars check them out!

Andrea left a buca sized impact on our party of 11! Single handedly took care of everyone's needs with great customer service and quick responses. She surely deserves B.I.P, and cannoli believe how great she is. Bonus points if you get the pope room.

Food is plentiful. We started with the chopped antipasti salad and proscuitto stuffed mushrooms. Salad came with pepperoncini, which is a plus. Stuffed mushrooms were delightful! Next came our entrees, lasagna and pizza. Lasagna was piled high with a hint of sweetness. Pizza was thin crust. Bring your appetite because these are family sized portions.

To begin with, we are regulars at this restaurant . However today , we waited a long time to have someone seat us when there is only two customers in the whole restaurant! Anyway, we wanted to seat in a different table because the table next to us were extremely loud. The girl who seat us say "No" !!! but thankfully the waitress move us to another small table. I cant speak for a regular dine in. Last time we had lasagna here we were disappointed. Im reviewing the catering service and quality of food. My sister just had a party today and had over 10-12 different items from the menu. Everything came out so good and perfectly cooked! Shout out to the amazing team that took care of us today. We had reservation for 5:45pm on Christmas Day. We didn't want to cook so we were glad Buca was opened. Parking was either $3.50 valet or park on the street for free in front of Buca off of PCH. We parked in front. Didn't really have an issue with parking. When we arrived, luckily we had reservation as there were families waiting to be seated. We checked in and were seated in about 5mins with menu in hand. Our server came pretty fast and took our drink orders. She came back for our dinner order - Christmas menu for 5ppl which is one app, one salad and one pasta. We added a calamari plus lemon chicken order. The drinks arrived and food followed in about 5mins after the drinks. Impressive as we were hungry. Service was great. Food was good with leftovers to take home. Easy and convenient for Christmas evening, can't ask for more. read more

First and foremost, we got great service from Nick/Nicky (5 stars). We came to celebrate my grandmother's 96th birthday and this was her pick. It's not too far from her house so it is assumedly comfort food, as mass quantities of Italian tend to be. Inside, the restaurant itself is big, lots of room to serve A LOT of people. On this particular Monday of Labor Day at 5:45pm it was not too crowded. The first thing you will notice is the interior décor which is elaborately decorated with old pictures, wine bottles and a neat tribute room to the Pope (see pictures). It's really a fun setting which is ideal for larger groups. Warning - it can get loud, which at times made it difficult for my grandmother who does not hear as well as she once did. The food itself is just 'okay,' not bad, but far from fantastic. Plan to eat family style. My group of 5 adults ordered 3 SMALL entrée dishes which are actually quite LARGE; chicken parmigiana (B+ grade), spaghetti & meatballs (B grade), and penne san remo (B- grade). My gripes include only getting two meatballs on the spaghetti, granted they are BIG, but still could have used 3 or 4. The penne san remo also needed more chicken, far from generous chicken portions. Anything with a sauce, like the penne san remo is going to be super rich with a heavy sauce. We left with enough food for lunch the next day, so portions are generous. Your server can help guide you as NIck did with our group. Grandma had a great time and enjoyed her celebratory birthday ice cream and the staff singalong. Thanks to Buca di Beppo for a memorable birthday celebration. read more

Our default restaurant when we want a little bit of everything and taste and quality that is consistent. The food is decent, the portions are enormous and for the price, you can usually have dinner and more than enough for another meal or two in leftovers. You won't find much in the way of creativity or a menu that contains Michelin star dishes, but it will please those who enjoy sauce laden, cheesy Italian dishes. Half the fun is gazing at the photos and art that's all around you. It's loud, sometimes chaotic but it's a good time for families or when you want to feed a crowd of 2 or 20. read more

Went here with some friends a few months ago for my first Buca di Beppo experience and it went okay until the end. Place is run down and we were a group of 5 and there was one family of 4 for the entire couple of hours. Portions are big, food was decent, but it was really about catching up with friends at one of their favorite restaurants. At the end, we ordered the brownie dessert that comes with ice cream and whipped cream. The brownies were hard as a rock but we tried not to be too picky. We got about half way through the dessert before one of us scooped a long black hair out of the middle portion. We alerted the waitress who had been kind to us during our meal (and right after we gave her a glowing review to her manager), where she made the joke, "So which one of you put that in there?", and then proceeded to act unsure about the situation. She came back out about 5 minutes later and said since the person who prepared it was a male, it couldn't have been him and therefore there was nothing she could do about it. Considering their low traffic this location seemed to be, the hair could've been sitting in the giant glass they serve it in for days, and refusing to take any accountability/remaking the dessert/taking the $10 item off of a $120+ check was really unfortunate and unprofessional. Will not be back to any of the Buca di Beppo locations, especially this one. read more

We arrived within 13 minutes and were told that they didn't have anymore tables available and when I mentioned I'd called and one was promised to be held, I could see the "oh crap!" Look on the hostess' face. I was told once again that they didn't have a table available for us but we could sit outside in the cold, with no heater. Since I'd hyped the food up so much, my wife was eager to try it, so she asked that we sit outside and dine there; so I obliged. Service was once again mediocre. The food was tasting great when suddenly my wife spat something out; upon further examination it was literal broken glass! Seriously, broken glass! I immediately took the plate to the manager and he was apologetic and offered to "comp everything" or remake the dish. My wife was still hungry so she opted to have it remade. For me, the experience was ruined. I couldn't finish my meal, while my wife ate most of her remade meal. Once we got the check, my wife's meal was removed. I chose to not pursue the offer to "comp everything," further so I paid and we left. We've not been back and we've told everyone about our experience

He addressed us by name every time he passed by. The most memorable aspect was when we were getting up to leave. He loudly said if we could please wait 5 minutes so that he could give us gelato for free! He was making it fresh as well so his machine needed some time. It was delicious! We threw our trash away and started to walk out, but then he told us to wait so that he could give us gelato again! I told him he already gave some to us and then he said we needed more... and that he insisted because "it is like 1000 degrees outside!" I guess the pasta is homemade, but you sure couldn't tell from this dish. They came and picked up the dish without commenting on how little my wife had eaten. They asked if we wanted dessert, and, clearly expecting a no, plopped the bill down in front of me. We paid, yes we tipped, and immediately walked a few doors down to get my wife something to eat for dinner. We will never go back.

We sat at a communal bench/table to enjoy our breakfast items (which they stop serving after 10:30); however, we noticed that others were eating some delicious-looking sandwiches served on their fresh baguettes. I know that I have to come back for those!

We've been coming here for around 20 plus years. In all that time I've never encountered any problems until I had to deal with the worst manager ever whose name is Felipe. He is a definite "0" stars alone & should be fired because he's horrible at what he does. He made the situation about him & what he wants rather than the customer. He obviously has no clue as to what customer service is. He needs a lesson in that department. I phoned in an order to pick @4:20. It was estimated 20-25 min. I arrived at location @5. Abigail, which was very sweet informed me my order was never put in. They put a special rush and 15 min later it was ready. I went in because I had a email for $20 off $40 offer, which I used. I spoke to the manager Felipe to see if he could take off a little something for my inconvenience of waiting and their mix up with my phone order. He responded "well you only had to wait 15 min." I told him I shouldn't have waited at all because of their mistake. He had a smug smirk while he was addressing me and proceeded to argue with me and instead of listening to ME the customer, instead he told me I only waited 15 min. I feel that he didn't care about the customer and I have been going to this location for over 15 years and this experience has been the worst, due to the manager. He said that he could give me a $15 off, but couldn't use my original discount. I told him it didn't make sense since mine was a better deal. Waiting almost an hour is absolutely not acceptable. He pretty much ignored me and took my credit card. As a manager, he DOES have the authorization for make adjustments, even if it is a small token for a customer that frequently does family catering with them. He was a horrible example of management skills. But again Abigail was very kind and sweet to help manage the situation. Now, I'm no Italian but I grew up in Little Italy in NYC and my mom's boss was a straight fkn Guido from Sicily. I can tell you now that for a corporate restaurant chain, this is as close to home cooking as you can get. The pastas are all fabulous. The specialties are also amazing. Chicken Parm, Frutti Di Mare are my personal faves. And the amount of food you get should be illegal! A "small" feeds 4 people, seriously! I take my kids here all the time. I wish I could give this place zero stars. Our recent experience was an absolute disaster, all thanks to the rude and unprofessional behavior of the front hostess. We arrived with a large party and simply asked if we could be seated together at one table. This seemingly straightforward request completely flustered the hostess, who then had a meltdown and cussed at us. To make matters worse, the management did absolutely nothing to deescalate the situation. No apology, no attempt to rectify the issue - just silence and indifference while the hostess continued to glare at us as we were seated. The lack of basic courtesy and customer service was astonishing. We won't be returning and strongly advise others to avoid this place if they value being treated with respect. read more

Still a fan...went here today for my son's birthday celebration. Eleven of us ate for $250 w/ tip - that's about 23 dollars each. Not bad, plus we came home with 4 boxes of left overs. Man, is it noisy in there...a very festive environment, which was great for the whole family. When we arrived at 5 PM, there were 6 servers waiting next to the hostess podium, and no one in the lobby. It got busy quick. I felt sorry for our server - he had 3 huge tables, including ours. When we left, there were about 40 people waiting for tables in the lobby. It was packed. Would recommend a weeknight, not a Saturday, and call in your reservation at least a day in advance. The best thing is the prosuto-stuffed chicken...wow, so amazingly good. read more

I am from Phoenix Arizona and I came to California for a funeral with my family. After the funeral we made a reservation at Buca Di Beppo. We had a party of 18. First we get there and they tell us our table isn't ready, then when it was ready the table only sat 14. The remanding 4-5 people that didn't have a seat sat at the table across. They got told that the table that they were at was reserved for another party so they cleaned a half ass slanted booth table and that is were they sat. The food was late and cold the service was awful. Their "fake sorry's" are pathetic. Kristina ( "the manager") if you are reading this ...... you do NOT know how to run a restaurant. Went for a birthday and I expected better considering I've been before. The decor and photos is my favorite part. The food isn's amazing. The calamari sauce reminded me of marinara sauce, and the meatballs are more straight up balls of meat, with no spice or flavor. Our server was friendly, but came by every 30 minutes. We witnessed a table not be greeted for about 10 minutes until the man flagged someone down to request their server. Even after flagging someone down it still took probably another 5-10 min for their server to come. Once she came she asked how they were and he said "well good, now that we have a server." Overall, my experience at Buca di Beppo was just okay. I chose this restaurant for my graduation dinner. The food was satisfactory. Making and modifying my reservations with Kristian and Jennifer was seamless; they were prompt, professional, and accommodating. The service was also professional and polite. However, one major issue significantly marred our evening. The photographer persistently harassed my guests and me to buy photos, despite our repeated polite refusals. This added unnecessary stress and significantly detracted from the celebration. In summary, while the food and service were adequate, the aggressive behavior of the photographer seriously undermined the experience. read more

Just got home from having an amazing dinner with my family. It was my son's 25th birthday and we had a party of 18. I apologize that I didn't catch the wonderful waitresses name, it was a little chaotic and loud at our table. She was so sweet and on top of everyone's glasses and had great recommendations for us. We all had a great time and felt like we were at home! Also I wanted to say that the valet went above and beyond. My mother is disabled and he was so patient and even made sure that he parked as close to the curb as possible so that she could easily get into the car. Things like that might seem small and simple but what a great act of kindness it was to us!! read more

We came here after a beach day in Redondo. First thing we ordered was a pitcher of Sangria. The sangria was pretty much all ice and water with a splash of wine for color. Spaghetti was bland and waay overcooked. The service was barely keeping up - wanted to order more drinks for obvious reasons, but no one came to take our order. Our pizza was all burnt on the bottom... maybe this place was great at one point - but it felt like no-one really cared about the food quality. best part was the pepperoni on our pizza - really tasty. Worst part? $100 for small spaghetti, small pizza, and calamari - don't mind paying for quality but c'mon! Never coming back. read more

I have eaten at a few different Buca's and this was the first time I was disappointed in the experience. I love their food in general but this one time I ate at the Redondo location with my family they brought out a pizza but it had a hair on it, that kinda ruined my wife's and my appetite, but my son went ahead and ate the pizza anyway! I wanted to be very discreet but the staff kinda made us feel like we made it up so it was very uncomfortable. Anyway they comped the pizza and of course we paid for the rest of the meal which was fine but the manager and server really made us feel bad when it wasnt our fault. I'm visiting from Kentucky and decided to try Buca di Beppo for the first time. Our server Emily explained the meal sizes and helped us decide between Spaghetti and Meatball and Chicken Parmigiana. The chicken parmigiana was amazing and left me and my family full! Emily warned us that we would probably have left overs and we sure did haha! Thank you so much for your awesome service, my family and I will definitely be back! It was my girlfriends birthday so we did want as perfect as can be and unfortunatley she ordered a new pasta that wasnt up to her taste...but not a problem, the manager Alex came out and swapped our meal no problem and even made us laugh and feel comfortable(great manager). I think this place is great for groups and families. I came with a group of 7 on a saturday night and it was pretty busy. There were other large groups here as well. So I believe the place is always loud. The service was great. The food - eh. I didn't really have anything I loved. To me, the meatballs were great. The calamari was ok, I've had better. The portions are very large by the way so definitely share. Which makes the price worth it i guess. Would I come back? Maybe for a birthday or something. Not a place I'd die to try again. read more

Joined 2 other families with dinner reservations for total of 6 adults and 5 children and wasn't expecting much. Parking was a little challenging walking across hilly parking lot as their parking lot is tiny. Place was packed with people but no wait and seated within 5 minutes. Seated in nice corner with bench and comfortable. We all enjoyed all the dishes but we especially enjoyed the margharita pizza, cold cut salad, and chicken pasta primavera. Imagine if a TGI Friday's defecated in an Olive Garden. That's the best way I can describe this establishment. The food lies on a spectrum between average and terrible. If you ever wanted to eat Stauffer's tv dinner Italian food in a room with random shit on the walls, this is the place. I went to Buca Di Beppo to watch a basketball game and let me tell you...This place has a sweet DVD/VCR combo 21" tube tv. Like I said, this place is awful. I'm not a good judge on food because when i'm hungry i'm hungry! but to me the food here always tastes great I really like the fact that when I order things I always have special requests being more cheese less croutons whatever they always live up to the request. I think its a great place for parties and sharing the portions are really big and the price is great. I think its worth it! I came to this restaurant a few days ago. My server was by far the most interactive and friendliest server I could have asked for. His name is Bianco. He was very patient with me, even when I stuttered or couldn't say the name of the dish correctly. Furthermore he brought my Spicy Chicken Rigatoni as quickly as he could. I would salute the chef as well if I had known their name. Overall, Bianco made my visit very magnificent and i do plan on coming here again. read more
