We had reservation for 5:45pm on Christmas Day. We didn't want to cook so we were glad Buca was opened. Parking was either $3.50 valet or park on the street for free in front of Buca off of PCH. We parked in front. Didn't really have an issue with parking. When we arrived, luckily we had reservation as there were families waiting to be seated. We checked in and were seated in about 5mins with menu in hand. Our server came pretty fast and took our drink orders. She came back for our dinner order - Christmas menu for 5ppl which is one app, one salad and one pasta. We added a calamari plus lemon chicken order. The drinks arrived and food followed in about 5mins after the drinks. Impressive as we were hungry. Service was great. Food was good with leftovers to take home. Easy and convenient for Christmas evening, can't ask for more. read more

First and foremost, we got great service from Nick/Nicky (5 stars). We came to celebrate my grandmother's 96th birthday and this was her pick. It's not too far from her house so it is assumedly comfort food, as mass quantities of Italian tend to be. Inside, the restaurant itself is big, lots of room to serve A LOT of people. On this particular Monday of Labor Day at 5:45pm it was not too crowded. The first thing you will notice is the interior décor which is elaborately decorated with old pictures, wine bottles and a neat tribute room to the Pope (see pictures). It's really a fun setting which is ideal for larger groups. Warning - it can get loud, which at times made it difficult for my grandmother who does not hear as well as she once did. The food itself is just 'okay,' not bad, but far from fantastic. Plan to eat family style. My group of 5 adults ordered 3 SMALL entrée dishes which are actually quite LARGE; chicken parmigiana (B+ grade), spaghetti & meatballs (B grade), and penne san remo (B- grade). My gripes include only getting two meatballs on the spaghetti, granted they are BIG, but still could have used 3 or 4. The penne san remo also needed more chicken, far from generous chicken portions. Anything with a sauce, like the penne san remo is going to be super rich with a heavy sauce. We left with enough food for lunch the next day, so portions are generous. Your server can help guide you as NIck did with our group. Grandma had a great time and enjoyed her celebratory birthday ice cream and the staff singalong. Our default restaurant when we want a little bit of everything and taste and quality that is consistent. The food is decent, the portions are enormous and for the price, you can usually have dinner and more than enough for another meal or two in leftovers. You won't find much in the way of creativity or a menu that contains Michelin star dishes, but it will please those who enjoy sauce laden, cheesy Italian dishes. Half the fun is gazing at the photos and art that's all around you. It's loud, sometimes chaotic but it's a good time for families or when you want to feed a crowd of 2 or 20. read more

I cant speak for a regular dine in. Last time we had lasagna here we were disappointed. Im reviewing the catering service and quality of food. My sister just had a party today and had over 10-12 different items from the menu. Everything came out so good and perfectly cooked! Shout out to the amazing team that took care of us today. Went for a birthday and I expected better considering I've been before. The decor and photos is my favorite part. The food isn's amazing. The calamari sauce reminded me of marinara sauce, and the meatballs are more straight up balls of meat, with no spice or flavor. Our server was friendly, but came by every 30 minutes. We witnessed a table not be greeted for about 10 minutes until the man flagged someone down to request their server. Even after flagging someone down it still took probably another 5-10 min for their server to come. Once she came she asked how they were and he said "well good, now that we have a server."
