Before Covid, I used to always go to Buca. So last night for dinner was my first time going since Covid. Unfortunately, it wasn't the same. Usually, there's a lot of people laughing, having a good time music playing, upbeat wait staff. But when I went there there was hardly anybody there the music wasn't playing ( until right before we left), the staff looked like they didn't want to be there and it just was completely dead. Not all of this is the restaurants' fault, but it just shows us how Covid has impacted a lot of our fun and favorite restaurants. It was actually kind of sad. Anyways, the food was really good. I forgot how big the portions were, so we went a little overboard, but it's all good because we took it home for leftovers. The only disappointment was the cannoli. The shell was tough. Dessert is life, and so I was bummed out about that. I still love all of the fun random decor they have throughout the restaurant. Your eyes are constantly moving about! Excellent service, beautiful decor, and hearty portions! I came here with my family for a nice dinner out on a Friday around 9pm because we were craving some pasta. [The Restaurant/Service] There is a decent sized lot to park in. When we arrived the valet was already closed so it was self-parking, which was even better! As you descend down the stairs with two statues to welcome you, servers kindly greet and seat you. The interior decor of this place is definitely something! Lots of photos, trinkets, knick-knacks, and vintage worthy art works that lavishly adorn the walls. Our server of the night was Daniel and he was superb! He was very accommodating to our needs (since we also had a toddler) and he checked in often to make sure we were doing alright. In addition, I didn't know that this restaurant also gives complimentary photo collages (you get one for your table) and they also have other photos they take which come in a nice paper frame available for purchase. (I think it was one for 15 dollars or 2 for 20 dollars). [The Food] - prices are from dinner menu and small size serves 2-3 but my family of 5 had just the right amount -complimentary bread // 0.00 // soft bread served with olive oil and vinegar. Delish! -Antipasti salad // small size 17.99 // AMAZING! This was by far the winner of the night! The dressing was refreshing and the cheese and olives really added a nice touch to the flavor. -Lasagna // small size // I honestly was pleased but not impressed. There was a good amount of cheese which was nice, though. -shrimp florentine // small size 28.99 // I thought this dish was too fishy for me. The shrimps are small and not very hearty. The sauce tastes too fishy/shrimpy and the veggies didn't really seem to shine at all in this dish. Overall, the service really shines for this restaurant and the photo ops make this place a nice gathering for family or for a dinner date/night out with friends. I also like that this restaurant is open slightly later than most places around the area. The food wasn't the best in my opinion. We ordered lasagna, chicken parmesan and Alfredo pasta. Bread sticks. The first dish they brought was the lasagna. It was just OK. But what I didn't like is how we waited almost 15 - 20 minutes before our next dish came out. It was cold by then. Who likes cold food?! Why not bring all the dishes out at once? It was embarrassing but we had no choice but to ask our server if they could warm it up. Eventually all our dishes were brought out but by then, we weren't vibin the food. Imo it's over priced. I went here to celebrate my 60th birthday with my family for dinner, a party of 11. Well, Buca made it unforgettable for sure because the food and the service were so bad! The food took forever to come. Salmon had bones, I almost swallowed one and had to run to the bathroom to throw up, and glad it came out. The Alfredo Fettuccine took an hour to come after repeated checks with another server because my server was nowhere to be found, and the pasta was still undercooked. This place was not the same as before, very disappointed and I felt embarrassed to my family that I brought them to this restaurant. I will not be returning here again. read more

Fernando is a top tier waiter who I would greatfully allow to serve me anywhere. His attitude was the BEST and his knowledge about the food and restaurant was spot on. Sorry, Buca, I can't give you more than two stars. Service: I came with my family for a birthday party. There were a lot of us and my husband and I did come late. Our server didn't come to get our drink order until I called him over. After dropping off our drinks, he came back one more time asking if we were ready to order. We put our order in....and we didn't see him again until the food came out. We had to flag down other waiters and waitresses to get other drinks. Food: I think the best thing I ate was the Apple Gorgonzola salad. The dressing was light, and the lettuce and other toppings were super cold, which was really refreshing after eating all the pasta people ordered. I also got the spaghetti and meatballs, which was just okay. It's not worth the $40 for the large portion. The meatballs were pretty good though, but it's nothing I can't buy at a grocery store. I've only been her a few times in my life (actually this is probably the second time I've been here). The first time I went to one, we were in Universal Studios and I was with a bunch of engineer's, so we all drank a bunch of red wine. Due to covid, they only have in-restaurant dining at certain times so it is best to call if you are looking to eat-in like I was. The family sized alfredo was able to constitute 6 meals which means I was paying $7.67 for each meal. They forgot to put utensils and the fettucine tasted average. We came here on a Friday night to celebrate my mother in law's birthday. Our server was Laura and she was absolutely amazing. She was attentive and has such a friendly and professional demeanor. I inconvenienced her many times and she was so gracious every time. There was 9 of us plus one more who joined late. I would note that the portions are large. The bowl I have here was for 5 people and felt like enough for 10, if you get multiple plates. We ordered the mushroom appetizer, spicy shrimp(it was spicy!), and fried mozzarella. For our mains we ordered the spicy chicken pasta, and a spicy shrimp pasta, as well as the trio type dish with ravioli, manicotti, chicken cannelloni ( was not our cup of tea), and stuffed shells. We had about five take out containers leftover. We also had 3 kids spaghetti dishes. I was very happy with the food. The team does a very cute song and gives a giant ice cream if it is your birthday.
