I visited Buca di Beppo and, honestly, it felt a bit overhyped. Even though we had a reservation, the hosts seemed to forget about us we had to remind them multiple times before being seated. It was a busy night, so I definitely recommend making a reservation, otherwise you're looking at about a 45-minute wait. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Getting to our table was an experience in itself we were taken through the kitchen and up three flights of stairs, only to be seated in a corner on the third floor.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Unfortunately, the space felt very enclosed with poor ventilation. There were no windows, and the lack of airflow made the smells (food, body odor, etc.) really noticeable.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]To make matters worse, there was a fly hovering around our table, which made the experience feel a bit unsanitary.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Another thing that threw me off staff came around taking pictures, but there was no explanation of why, what it was for, or if we'd even get the photos. It just felt random and honestly a bit questionable... very much "Ep.files" vibes. Service was inconsistent. A host initially came for drinks but disappeared, and our actual waiter didn't show up until about 10 minutes later. When our sodas finally arrived, they tasted watered down, which was disappointing. As for the food, pricing ranges from about $44-$70 per item, which makes sense since everything is served family-style. We ordered a kids' spaghetti and the spicy chicken rigatoni. The rigatoni had good flavor, but I wish it had more chicken. My daughter loved her meal, though, so that was a plus. Overall, it was just okay. Spending over $100 didn't feel worth it for the experience. I personally don't love being limited to large, shareable portions especially when everyone wants something different and I hate wasting food. I might give it another chance during lunch when they offer more individual portions and it's less crowded but for now, it's not really my cup of tea.

Judy the bartender was very kind and attentive! Made a pit stop before going to Fan Fest & I was so glad I did. You can't come to Buca and not order the bread! Will be back when I go to Universal again.

Really good food. I prefer it over Olive Garden; it tastes more authentic and real compared to other places where it can be obvious the food was microwaved. The place serves family-style meals, so everything you order comes as a huge portion, which is great but also can be expensive quickly if you don't watch out. Ordering that main dish with appetizers, a salad, and dessert can cost you big, and you may not even eat it all, so it is very important to look at the menu and only get what you can eat. Most small plates can feed a family of four. I and my wife with kids ordered the chicken carbonara, and between the 4 of us, we could not finish and still had leftovers to take to lunch the next day, so it is a big plate. They have a family meal promotion currently at $40 for pasta salad and breadsticks for 40 people. Remember, all family size is a lot of freaking food. We got that last time, and we had plenty left over, and I highly recommend it. [[HIGHLIGHT]]My last visit was great, but for whatever reason we were put in the back with the bigger parties, and they were loud, which was odd because there were plenty of solo booths in front that were empty while there were other booths in the same area occupied.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This annoyed me a bit, but overall our visit was great and service was fantastic. Loved the food!

Julio provided great service. The food was delicious and tasty. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We sat at the table where we can see the chefs cooking each meal.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The chicken fettuccine with broccoli was delicious and tasty. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Perfect place for a birthday party.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The vibe is alive.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Perfect place to dine before or after a movie or visiting the park.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

This is inside Universal Studios in Los Angeles, CA. We arrived early weekday evening and surprisingly we were seated immediately. No lines no waiting. Inside is tight & elevated noise level. Food serving portions are family style which means it's a huge serving. The food quality & taste is not what it used to be. Even the price is much higher than before. Well, it's LA and it's inside Universal Studios lot! Parking will also set you back a few dollars.

If you want amazing Italian food, this spot is already a win... BUT if you get Moisés as your host, you just unlocked VIP status We come here ALL the time--lunch, dinner, random cravings--and somehow Moisés always knows exactly what we want before we even say it That level of service? UNMATCHED. The best part... we don't just come as ourselves We pull up as: El Chavo Quico La Chilindrina And every time, Moisés plays along, makes us laugh, and turns dinner into a whole experience The food is always * Big portions (perfect for sharing) * Flavor on point every time * Comfort food that hits different after a long day But honestly... the reason we keep coming back? Moisés. He makes us feel like family, not customers. If you come here, do yourself a favor: Ask for Moisés. Trust me. We'll definitely keep coming back... whether it's lunch, dinner, or just El Chavo getting hungry again

Our fave dinner spot after a long day at Universal! As an Italian myself, this is one of my fave spots. The food is always fresh & quick service! We even ordered to go & it was ready in 15 mins. You have to try the spicy chicken rigatoni (marinara + alfredo sauce mix) , it is my fave dish & it inspired me to learn how to make it at home. My hubby loves the pepperoni pizza, they will cover it with meat. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place itself is cozy and there are tons of decor on the walls to look at/appreciate.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our fave italian spot, highly recommend trying. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Lil secret tip ask the front to be seated in the kitchen, there is a booth back there where you can watch them cook the meals and the waiter will explain the process. So FUN![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

    Pope head

Enjoyed the sharing (once we were able to agree on a dish) and [[HIGHLIGHT]]loved the ridiculous decor (fun photos + a Pope's head in a glass case as a table centerpiece)[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. The service was good but the food was bland and both desserts were so stale we didn't eat them. We are not inclined to return.

After a long day at Universal we ended our day at Buca di Beppo! It was crowded so I'm glad we were prepared with a reservation. We ordered the baked rigatoni, spicy arrabiata, and chicken Parmesan. All the portions were hefty even for the regular size. The only thing I would say needed some work was how soggy the parmigiana was. 3/5 The baked rigatoni was amply served with the sauce tasting pretty good. 3.5/5 Spicy arrabiata wouldn't be my first choice but the crust was good somewhat lacking flavor but serviceable, undercarriage needed some work. 3/5 But what made our night was the service, we had a great waiter who had our corner well attended.

Pope Room for my daughter's birthday party!!
    Tammy L.

Celebrated my daughter's 13th birthday here. Requested for the Pope Room and we got it! We take turns between Pasadena and this City Walk location. The energy's awesome - perfect for any type of occasion. We've celebrated birthdays and graduations with Buca. It's family style and the portions are HUGE - most importantly- they've stayed consistent. Consistent with quality, taste, portions and service. (When I say we've celebrated many milestones here, I'm talking for atleast the last 15+ years and it's always awesome.) This time I decided to get 3 orders of the 4 for $49 deal that came with 3x garlic bread, salad, pasta, and entree. Plus 2 pizzas and Trio Appetizer - Enough for all 13 of us PLUS a leftover take home container for everyone. *I definitely recommend their specials when they have them- wonderful deal for half the price. 10 out of 10 for me!!

    Buca Trio Platter
    Hannah L.

After a long hot day at Universal Studios, this place hits the spot!! Around 7pm on a Wednesday mid-June, we were able to easily get a table upstairs without a reservation. Portions are HUGEEE and are def meant to be shared. Everything was tasty, especially the Eggplant Parmigiana and the Baked rigatoni. I would also get the Buca Trio Platter again for the shrimp and calamari. Pizza wasn't memorable... everything came out to $28, split between 7-ish people! Service was a wee bit slow, but the guy was friendly. It's cute that they take DSLR photos and come back with the print for sale (i think for $5 each?) at the end. Would def come back.

Went here for dinner. The place was okay and lighting was just right. The food was good. I ordered the spaghetti with meat sauce and garlic bread enjoyed it. The service was okay as well. Overall, a decent dinner spot.

Everything was good. The portions were great. Although tasty, the pricing is a bit much especially for appetizers , $27 for fried mozzarella is insane. I paid that for their pepperoni pizza. I recommend just getting a family meal instead of piecing together entrees. The ambiance of the restaurant creates a perfect environment for family and friends to dine and get-together. Service was good and our server was very helpful. This is the City walk location so you might want to make reservations if you plan on going on a weekend. The house bread is amazing!

A realtor I recently worked with to sell two properties wanted to catch up and present me with a little something for the opportunity at Ca' Del Sole. I'd driven by this place since I often worked in the area or used the streets as a shortcut of sorts, while this was relatively close to his office in Studio City. Opened in 1994 by restaurateur Rudolfo Costella and fellow Venetian Master Chef Antonio Tommasi, the idea was to offer a glimpse into the atmosphere, cuisine, and culture of Northern Italy and a Venetian country inn in the center of the San Fernando Valley. Costella has since expanded his empire with a few more restaurants in Phoenix, AZ and Southern California, respectively. Would I feel at home under the guise of the warm Northern Italian sun!? PURCHASE(S) Breads & Dipping Sauce (COMP): Fresh puffy warm breads and an olive tapenade dipping sauce was a beautiful way to get this lunch started! It was refillable, but we were good. Peroni Nastro Azzurro Pale Lager Beer 5.1% ABV 12floz Bottle ($7.00): Amber honey color, honey malty aroma, light body, light bready malty flavor, clean effervescent finish, and a light malty sweet aftertaste. An easy Italian birra! Squash Blossoms 3pc ($21.95): We shared this lovely appetizer that was airy and lightly fried with a creamy sauce bed. I loved this creative healthy dish! Minestrone Soup Bowl ($13.50): Loaded with a bunch of fresh vegetables and a low-sodium broth, this was hearty and simple, but I liked my realtor's soup more. Asparagus Soup Bowl ($13.50): My realtor let me try his soup, which was an odd nuclear-yellow color, creamy, light, and silky smooth - heavenly! Shrimp Fusilli ($23.95): Homemade green fusilli and medium shrimp in a buttery creamy sauce topped with grated cheese, the portion was smaller than expected, but each bite was blissful, and I used the bread to wipe down my bowl! Salmon Farfalle ($23.95): My realtor let me try his heaping entree portion of thick chunks of tender salmon and velvety pasta in a butternut squash sauce - yummy Valet Parking ($7.00): Cash only, there weren't any other onsite options. SERVICE Once we arrived for our reservation, the lovely young hostess sat us in a relaxing cabana outside in the back patio where we were greeted by a friendly older gentleman server armed with menus and glasses of water. We took forever to order (sorry!), so he went over the specials, which we pretty much ordered from. Our drinks and bread basket arrived quickly followed by the appetizer, then our soups, and finally our entrees all spaced out as they checked on us regularly. Everything was casual and professional - grazie! PARKING ($7.00; valet only): They had a private lot. Otherwise, I should've done what my realtor did and parked along the main drag of Cahuenga Blvd. with meters - 'nuff said. ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE A deceptively large layout once you entered the waiting area with a separate bar area nearby, an indoor dining area off in another direction, and then the amazing outdoor dining area with its mix of cabanas and open-air tables among plants and trees. Obviously, there was plenty of natural light outside (I couldn't say about the inside) while various electric lights covered the rest. It had a very European relaxed feel. I saw a TV in the bar area but couldn't recall any background music other than the street traffic. ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL I was so happy to finally try Ca' Del Sole and couldn't wait to return, especially to try their Happy Hour (MO-FR 5pm-Close in the bar lounge area only; everything $5.00). The food was awesome, the menu selection was vast, the prices were a touch elevated, the atmosphere was European casual, and the service was top-notch. Plus, I preferred to support small mom & pop businesses whenever possible (sure, they owned a few other restaurants). I found complete value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $127.00 BEFORE any discounts, points usage, and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... AMEX! 5.0 STARS

They were regular. Nothing to brag about. And I ordered the lasagna which was very divine. It was cheesy. Plentiful. Perfectly seasoned. The food is TOO GOOD. There's PLENTY of seats and a mini size parking lot.

I did not see a designated parking lot (just street) but there was plenty of street parking available with no meters on Sunday. The dining experience is cool as it has that old world charm to it with the checkered table cloths in classic Italian style. As for the food, it was just mediocre. We started off with the antipasto salad and that is a total waste of money for what you get (16.95). It was on the smaller side and was not a traditional antipasto salad. It had the salami and cheese on the bottom of the plate (in whole slices) along with some regular lettuce on top with two green onions and some green olives on the side and some red onions (at 1st I thought that our server brought us the wrong salad). As for our entrees, I ordered the spinach lasagna and it was ok. The portion size was small but since lasagna is generally heavy I was able to finish it. BFF ordered the baked mostaccioli with Italian sausage added to it and his was a bigger portion. We had two soft drinks and some water with our meal and the total came to 110.00 incl tip. Ouch! Our server was friendly but not overly and the service was good. I really wanted to like this establishment but the food did not impress me at all. Italian restaurants are a dime a dozen in LA and I rarely make it to this area; therefore, I highly doubt I will be back.

What truly sets this place apart is the hospitality! The owner was exceptionally attentive, ensuring we felt completely taken care of throughout the evening. The food was nothing short of amazing. We shared a variety of dishes, including the fettuccine carbonara, tiger shrimp, misto mare, and several others, and every single bite was packed with authentic, delicious flavor. We also couldn't resist trying many of their desserts, and they were the perfect sweet ending to an already fantastic meal. If you are looking for top-notch Italian food paired with genuine, welcoming service, this is the place to go. We cannot wait to return!

From my first call to restaurateur Eric to make a reservation earlier in the week, the experience was as warm and personable as can be. Within minutes of our arrival, we were greeted by co-restaurateur Antonio, and we instantly felt like family at the beautiful, private table they had thoughtfully reserved for us by the window. Our wonderful server, Jessica, made the night even brighter. We started with some Peach Puree Bellini Prosecco that was crisp, refreshing, and beyond amazing. The food arrived with impressive speed, but the quality was truly second to none. My wife absolutely loved the special of the night--a Tiger Shrimp and Asparagus Linguini--and my Angus Beef Bolognese with savory short rib ragu was easily the best I've ever had. Antonio and Jessica checked on us frequently, chatting about the day and the amazing history of the restaurant. This was NOT just a night out at a "restaurant." This was quite literally getting together with family and having the time of our lives. Prosecco Trattoria is not "just another place to eat"--it is now our favorite home away from home for artfully prepared food and drinks. To Eric, Antonio, and Jessica: thank you for welcoming us into your family for such a special milestone!

The trattoria had low lighting and looked like a romantic little Italian villa with Sinatra music lilting in the background. It felt much more a date night place than a business dinner. First, the wine list by the glass had excellent, very interesting and offbeat selections. The bottle selection was really superb. Then, as a starter, we shared a white bean and lobster appetizer. It tasted absolutely amazing ... and a dish that neither of us had tried before. Our very seasoned and polite waiter told us we would enjoy it. Next, he had the lobster ravioli, and I had the salmon. Both were really cooked to perfection and wowed us. Lastly, for dessert, we split this most amazing pistachio gelato that came cut into slices with finely chopped pistachios sprinkled on top and a most delish type of pistachio paste?? inside. Angelo, the owner, stopped by and chatted with us during the meal, and we felt as though we had almost dined in someone's private home with a most amazing meal.

My fiancé had been wanting to go here for a while and we live down the street so we figured we'd try. Angelo came out and was extremely sweet and accommodating as well as our server; honestly every one of the staff were extremely sweet and helped me pick out what to order. The super Tuscany wine was amazing, the appetizers, (Roman Pruscetta and the Caesar salad) were incredible. The Pastas were also out of this world. This will be my new spot for taking anyone for a nice dinner.

The usually have a live band after 7pm and the sound in the resturant is amazing. It's like a recording studio. The staff was very friendly! The decor and ambiance was also impressive. Definitely swanky but down to earth vibes. I got the rasberry beret cocktail and it was different but fabulous. Not sure how else to describe it. It was refreshing. We got the tiger prawns and it was presented as a toasta, which had a great flavor and texture. The apple salad was also refreshing and a good portion to share between 2 people. The broccolini was cooked perfectly and my favorite after the tiger prawns was the Dungeness crab pasta. It had uni on top! The uni elevated the dish, and honestly there were a good amount of crab meat in the dish. Overall well balanced and creamy. The 2 of us left full and satisfied. Highly recommend this place for a date night. There's also plenty of street parking when we went but there is also valet for $15.
