My husband and I came in for dinner on Christmas evening. It was underwhelming from the start. The only positive pet of this "experience" was our server Allison. Having an open kitchen should mean that your staff behaves appropriately at all times. Needless to say, after the soggy pork belly appetizer we also were not impressed by anything else. At one point one server walked up to the chef and said "It's almost over!" and proceeded to clap her hands loudly. Then followed that statement up with "Guess what the gossip is today chef?" It felt so unwelcoming and uncomfortable. We asked to speak to the manager at the end of our meal. Simply because being in the industry we didn't want anything for free. We wanted someone to take notice that our experience was unacceptable. The manager proceeded to come to our table. He was absolutely the most unprofessional "manager/VP" that I have ever encountered. I try to never mention where I work because it isn't good business. He proceeded to badger me until I told him. Then simply said "If you want to come back, here's my card." I was baffled. He not only did nothing for us but was one of the most pompous VP/Managers I have ever encountered. We will not be back and I will tell everyone to save their money. I am very impressed with Bugatti's. Maybe I haven't eaten enough casino food, but I've found that in St. Louis, casino food is really not great. Everyone says it's great, but as a foodie, I can tell you that it's not. However, Bugatti's is comparable to any other non-casino, quality restaurant. Every time I've been here, the service has been fantastic. So friendly, quick and accommodating. The atmosphere is cozy and intimate, with lots of dark wood, comfy booths and big amber lamps. My husband and I agree that every menu item we've ever had here has been delicious. This includes steak, pasta, shrimp scampi, salmon and veal marsala. Their salads, sides and desserts are good as well. I have always enjoyed dinner at Bugatti's and would recommend it to anyone wanting to escape the substandard casino buffet! read more

Everything was very nice until the main course. My carbonara was gemelli in Alfredo sauce. I could tell it was intentional and not a mistake because there was bacon and peas in it like a proper carbonara. That's the cook insulting my intelligence. I ordered 6 Oysters--they were small, 3 crab cakes--they were the size of quarters but were delicious, a petite filet--I should have gotten the big one and 2 scallops. I also got the tiramisu for my birthday dessert. Every the tasted great. The yumminess-factor was a 9.8 on a 10 scale. But the price to portion-size was not on the same level in my opinion. This is my second trip here dining. The service was great. Polite, friendly, great server recommendations, and the food tasted great. My prime rib was a PERFECT medium rare. The shrimp cocktail was 4 huge shrimp and the cocktail sauce had a good bit of horseradish in it. And the servers recommendation on the dessert was spot on. I had the 9 oz filet and steak fries. The filet was good but the fries were a bad choice, should've gotten the baked potato as the fries were overcooked and not to my taste. I was excited when my friends had decided to try the steak house at the Ameristar Casino. I was expecting a top quality steak, especially based on the prices of steaks between $30 and $40 a piece. Unfortunately, the very sight of the steak when we received it, I knew I had been duped. The steak was $39 and was very low quality beef. Cooked sub par, might have been an inch thick, at best. Very fatty and grisly. The sides we ordered were the marscapone mashed potatoes and asparagus. The potatoes were very thin and flavorless and the asparagus, was fine. We had ordered the toasted ravioli appetizer. The presentation was nice, but the minute i bit into it, the meat inside resembled the inside of a Jack in the Box Taco. It was not a good appetizer. The only good thing about the meal was the bread they bring out with the trio of toppings of roasted tomato olive tapenade, roasted garlic and herb butter. I would NEVER recommend this restaurant and will never go back. $75 and I would have been happier going to Cracker Barrel. Prime steak house prices with Pondegrosa quality. Disgusting! read more

I'm going to give this 3 stars based off the fact that I'm fairly certain we had the one terrible server on staff. It would have been 5 with half way decent service. Upon reading the reviews (after we ate here) there seems to be that one server that ruins it for anyone they serve. Our server took our order, filled our water the first time, and then was not seen again until giving us our check. At one point my wife and I ran out of anything to drink. My beer was gone, her wine and water were gone, and we tactically shared the last of my water in hopes of having something to drink while we finished our food. Luckily the host walked by and noticed at one point. He refilled our water, only problem was this was about 3/4 the way through our meal. She wanted to order a cocktail and I wanted some bourbon, but we had no one to place that request to. This is crazy considering our meal was $120...and to think it would have been upwards of $150 if only we were given any attention. I've never tipped less than 20%, generally closer to 25%, and the only reason I tipped this person at all was the realization that tips are most likely shared. I didn't want the host, expeditor, and folks bussing tables to suffer because of the terrible server. It's unfortunate because the food was incredible. Fix this service issue and you've got a 5/5 experience. read more

The hostess noticed how dressed up we were and decided to take us to a table that didn't have a reservation at that time. I wish more people were like Brandy, the front of house manager.
