Called to have wild game butchered, they were not available and we short and didn't help with suggestions

This was my first time using bull dog meats, I had to wait 3 weeks for the pig to get processed. The old man was always Very rude when calling him for a an update, finally the day arrived to pickup the meat. Was surprised to be greeted by a half drunken guy with a 40 ouncer, I assume is the son in his mid 40's who still lives with his parents, Finally ended up with 112 lbs of meat from a 250lbs pig, who are these yahoo's, I believe they kept the rest of my meat. The meat was not packaged correctly. Sorry to say personally I wouldn't ever use them again and will not recommend them. Circle V farms in SLC is worth the drive to get the meat processed I've used them in the past and they are very professional to work with. read more

In October 2012, my sister and I hunted in the Pine Valley area and tagged our deer within minutes of each other. We're very meticulous about our meat so we quartered and cleaned and game-bagged it quickly and as it was getting late we stored it in a cooler overnight at our cabin and took it to Bulldog's the following morning. When we arrived we noted several skins and heads just outside the hanging cooler's door and when they opened the cooler door we saw that several full carcasses - heads, skins and all were lying in a pile on the floor inside of the cooler, directly underneath other hanging meat. I've been to other processors before and am familiar with what to expect so this initial impression made me somewhat uneasy. We were with a hunting party and planned to get back to the hunt as soon as we dropped our meat off so against our better judgment we left our meat with a kid who was working there. He took our information but didn't immediately attach our tags. We hunted for the rest of the day while our uneasiness grew. That afternoon we spoke with another hunter from the area and when I asked him about Bulldog's, he said that he had a friend in the family but would never leave his meat there because it was so filthy. The following day we decided to return and offer to pay a storage fee so we could take our meat back to Las Vegas and have it processed closer to home at a cleaner and better trusted facility, John Mull's. My sister and I were alone this time as my husband and brother-in-law continued hunting. When we arrived we were approached by a middle-aged, heavy set woman. We told her that our plans had changed we wouldn't be able to return in 3 weeks (the time we were told it would take to process) and had decided to take our meat back with us but that we were willing to pay a storage fee. She said she'd have to check with the owner and walked into the house. A few minutes later she returned and told us that the owner was sleeping and we'd have to call back later. I asked her how much later and she said that she didn't know how long he'd be sleeping but they didn't store meat and we wouldn't be able to recover it because she didn't know where it was at. This had us very concerned. We left and took the kids to lunch and returned 2 hours later. This time we spoke with someone else who went into the house and came out with the owner. He met us and said that we'd have to come back in 3 weeks and he'd not be giving us our meat. We explained that our plans had changed and we were willing to pay him for his trouble but that we needed our meat back. He told me that the only way he'd release our meat was if we paid full price for the processing fees ($75). Knowing that I was being robbed at that point but not willing to leave our meat in a filthy environment for 3 weeks and worry every time I fed my family, I paid him the $75. He turned around and told me that he wanted $150 for both deer. I told him that he was being completely unreasonable as our cleaned and bagged deer hadn't taken up near as much space as one of the many carcasses lying on his cooler floor. He told me that I'd need to give him at least $100 and that I could never come back. After assuring him I wouldn't be returning I paid him and we left with our meat. Lesson learned: go with my gut instinct and steer clear of Bulldog's! read more

I was told not to come here, I wish I would have listened. Custom meats by the airport was completely booked so I didn't really have a choice. At first when I picked up my elk I was slightly impressed by how much meat I got back, this made me think "wow, why was everyone so against this place?" Well anyway, I asked for my elk to be ALL steaks. And with the trimmings, I told them to make burger with NO fat. After I got home, I realized that over HALF of the meat was burger... Not to mention it had quite a high fat content. Also, I never gave them the tenderloins, that was something I took care of myself. Yet I received packaged tenderloin, so sorry to the person that didn't get all of their tenderloin. This has made me realize that this business does not hold themselves accountable. I am wondering how much of my meat is actually from the elk I shot. I definitely recommend finding a way to refrigerate your game until a spot opens elsewhere. Or butcher yourself. read more

my family has used them for a long time, good price but sometimes a little abrasive to deal with, you have to be specific in what you want but not bad over all. read more

my son and i were hunting the uninta flats area and harvested a deer on 10-28-14. we took the deer to bulldog custom cut meats the next day. when we arrived, they unloaded the deer and filled out the order for the different cuts of meat. a week later, i recieved a call letting me know the meat was ready for pickup. when i arrived to pickup the deer, they helped me load the icechests and load my truck. all packages of meat were clearly marked with the type of cut and my initials. also, the deer tag was attached to a package. thanks to everyone at bulldog meats for everything. kf read more
