This seems to be a fairly new establishment and is probably having its share of growing pains in this tough economy. On the plus side, the food was above average in taste and portion size, and they have a great selection of beers. On the down side, the service was slow and at times lacking, and they skimp on some food ingredients and beer. I ordered the Caesar chicken wrap, and I had to look hard to find the chicken. Additionally, I asked for a true pint of beer, with no foam head. I was told that the standard is 2 fingers of foam! First of all, I have never heard that, second of all, whose fingers? Lastly and most importantly, you are cheating the paying customer by doing that at 2 OZ per 1/2" on an $8 beer! My final criticism is the pouring of Guinness, which I did not order but observed. I have never seen it done so poorly, no pun intended. Every bartender sat the glass on the counter, let the Guinness pour right into the bottom of the glass, then served it immediately. Consider this instead: To pour the perfect pint, hold the glass at a 45-degree angle and pull the tap handle towards you. Fill the glass about three-quarters full, then let the Guinness settle for 119.5 seconds. Finally, top off the pint by pushing the tap handle away from you, creating the signature "dome" of foam on top of the beer. This technique results in the desired head retention and a perfect Guinness pint that is both visually appealing and full of flavor. Quality beats speed every day! read more

I don't often give less than stellar restaurant reviews. While the food wasn't terrible, the service was. We waited at our table for about 15-20 minutes before a waitress, (the one serving the people at two tables next to us) and just as we were about to leave decided to take our drink order. We put in our food order as well since we had stared the menu for too long. When the food arrived my food was cold and my family's food lukewarm at best. This was a waitress problem, not a cook/chef problem. Waited 8 mins for napkins and mayo. Now if the restaurant was busy, I understand a wait is inevitable. The restaurant wasn't at all busy. If the food was hot, I would have pushed this restaurant to a 2 maybe even a 3, as the price range was over average and the taste was pretty decent. The service was worst I have had in a long time. I am usually pretty understanding when it comes to service as I was a waitress, but I had to walk out because I really wanted to talk to a manager. We will give this place another shot in the future as I always want to give the benefit of the doubt. I was really looking forward to eating here because I live nearby and there's limited dining in Boulder City especially after 8pm. My husband and I ride our bikes there shortly after it opened. It was about 5:00, not crowded. We waited and waited for a hostess to seat us or at least greet us and tell us something like "thank you for joining us, we'll get you seated shortly. ". Any kind of acknowledgement. After about 10 minutes my husband went in and found the nearest employee, a girl behind the bar. He politely asked "should we just seat ourselves?" She snapped back at him, "no you need to wait for someone to seat you." Needless to say, we left. Tonight we decided to give them a second chance. My husband and I were looking for a place to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. We were having a hard time finding a place because we didn't want a huge event, we weren't renewing our vows, we didn't need trays passed around, we didn't want anything super formal and everywhere charged a fee just for using their space. We wanted to hang out with some of our favorite people, eat food and have drinks! ::Insert Bullet Train:: We had dined at Bullet Train a few times for dinner and really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. We thought the dining area would be perfect for what we were wanting, plus it was adjacent to the patio. I reached out via email about large group dining, our headcount was at 40, and next thing I knew, I was talking with Chef James. He didn't have pre-set menus, but after our initial conversation, he said he would put together a few options and let us decide. He gave us a few options and we were able to pick and choose what we wanted. Because we wanted simple, we chose sliders, fries, mozzarella sticks & garden salad. Yum! I also mentioned to Chef James that I wanted to buy the first round of drinks for our guests and asked if they had some sort of ticket that I could pass out so the waitress would know to put it the drink on our tab. More on that later... Chef James made contact with me a few days before our event to go over everything and to let us know we would be able to come an hour early to decorate if we wanted. He also called the day of to confirm a few things and go over any last-minute details. He ended up offering to do sweet potato fries in addition to regular fries, he also threw in a fruit platter & gave us the options on what type of plates we wanted to use. When we arrived, everything was ready to go for us! The tables had place settings, they brought out a case of bottled water to put at each spot and showed us how everything would be at the food table. While we were decorating, Chef let us know that they created tickets for the first round of drinks! CREATED tickets! What a sweet surprise, they included our last name on them and even made them look like tickets to redeem! My heart! The majority of our guests hadn't been to Bullet Train before and once they arrived, they loved the place! Throughout the night, several people commented on how good the food was, how much they loved the setup, how nice the patio was (we opened the slider doors to be able to go in/out) with the weather being so nice out! Our friends even noticed Chef James coming to the food table multiple times to make sure the food was stocked and not running low, everything that was hot stayed hot & everything tasted delicious! He made sure we were having a great night and thanks to him and his help, we did! The server - bless her! Lexi was amazing! She was attentive to the max, she was friendly, smiley and was able to keep track of everyone's drinks. The thing that set her over the top was that she notified us of happy hour ending. We didn't know we were still in happy hour and after the first round of drinks, she offered to order another round for everyone at the happy hour price! I thought that was so awesome of her to do that, because we all know some places avoid you like the plague when it comes to happy hour! If I ever go back, I hope we sit in her section, she was awesome! I could never thank her enough! The live music! We weren't sure if there would be live music, I forgot to ask. But we were excited when we arrived! While we were decorating, one of band members approached us asking who was celebrating. He wanted to sing us a song so we could dance. Well, he kept his word, he called my husband and I up to dance and everyone in the place watched! ::insert heart eyes:: It was so special, I am so thankful that they did that! What a great memory! Side note: my son's birthday is the day after our anniversary, I mentioned it to the band, and they called him up and sang a song to him along with happy birthday! It made him feel so special and put the spotlight on him, what a memory for his 8th birthday! All in all, this night turned out perfectly! There were a few weeks where I figured we wouldn't be able to find a place or something that would work for us. My first conversation with Chef James had me sold! He was so friendly, thorough & everything turned out better than I ever could've imagined! I am so thankful I took the chance to reach out about having a large group because it turned out better than I could've ever imagined! If you are looking for delicious food, great service and an awesome atmosphere, I highly recommend Bullet Train! It's Thanksgiving. My family celebrated at the Bullet Train. Our reservations were for 1230. We ordered our turkey dinner which was advertised as turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy stuffing, cranberry sauce green beans almandine, salad or soup,a dinner roll And pecan pie. When we entered the restaurant, it was nearly empty. It said please wait to be seated, but no one was manning the hostess station the bartender waved us in and told us to sit wherever we want I guess there was no need for a reservation We ordered the Thanksgiving special. It was delivered with turkey Mashed potatoes, maybe 2 tablespoons of gravy on the mashed potatoes canned green beans with some onion and maybe pimento, I couldn't really figure out the taste , no role, no cranberry sauce, no dressing. We complained to our waitress And she explained they ran out of dressing. Now there must've been a barrage of people Ordering the turkey dinner for breakfast we had to ask for more gravy and for our cranberry sauce forget the roll. We just got a when and we had to remind the waitress that we also got pie when I requested that we get some sort of a the turkey gave us a 50% credit but just on one dinner. When I asked to speak with the manager, I was told the manager wasn't there and there was only one guy in the kitchen. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out you may need to load up on the turkey and for the dinner that advertised seeing that Thanksgiving was fast approaching this restaurant when it first was promising now it's a one star and that's being generous. Bullet Train has changed their menu. It used to be a bit more restaurant-like with a variety of different foods. Now it is more like just bar food. It is good bar food but really miss the foods they took off the menu. No more pork chop, pan roast, rib eye and more. Took a while for our food to come out. We keep trying this place hoping the service would improve. Father's day dinner, ad had a misprint, should have been our Red Flag. We saw another couple walk out who didn't even have water and was there before us. We flagged a server and she took our order even though she wasn't our server. Food was average once again. Ribeye didn't have much flavor. Mashed potatoes were mushy and gravy didn't help. Never received the butter for the roll. My house salad had 1/2 cup of diced yellow onions, way too much for a salad and no croutons. Thankfully hubby left some of his on his salad for me. The bill or sever didn't come by. Walked to the hostess desk then she appeared "looking for us" with the bill. We keep hoping this place will improve, it has great ambiance and alot of potential. First time at Bullet Train. Very nice inside and out. The hostess wasn't the most welcoming, but she wasn't mean. She mentioned there was a 10 min wait and didn't really direct us to any options. Sure, there are seats right in the entrance, but she never offered open bar seating or other open seating adjacent to the bar. I asked and we were able to wait inside to hear the music and check out the place at some seats beyond the entrance near the bar. They had a gal singing acoustic, good stuff- not too loud and Hey, Bullet Train mgmt., it's ok to give her more than a 6 min break. We got there around 6pm and she was going to be playing until 10pm. 6 min break? Give her 15 min at least. Also, when she breaks, maybe a little soft mood music, it got eerily quiet when she was on her break. But it didn't last long, she only gets 6 minutes! About 25% of the TV's were either not getting signal or tuned into a channel that wasn't working or subscribed to. Get a handle on that. They're very prominent around the bar and every 4th tv was out. Our server, very nice, with a smile, but very vacant. I wanted to ask her to blink twice if she needed help. She would be gone long for drinks and to follow up on the food which took a while. My wife got the Grilled Filet. The food was very much a highlight here. The broccolini and mashed potatoes w/ potato chunks were great. The Filet was cooked perfectly and was plated nicely. She also got a side salad no croutons. (I'll get to that in a minute). I got the Hawaiian Flatbread, and it was very good, plus a side salad. The main dishes came out and I don't think if we'd asked about the salads, they would've been delivered. We had to ask for them and my salad also came without croutons (however I didn't ask to omit them). Happy Accident. When I got the salad to go, I asked for the croutons and they're soft! It was very weird. Bullet Train- soft croutons aren't doing the salads any favors. They're not like a Stuffing style crouton, they're just soft lame croutons, little flavor and you should just get nice, tasty crispy croutons. The salad was very good, fresh, nice deep mixed greens and was tasty the next day (after I tossed the dreadful croutons). Food spot on, Beer Cold but overpriced at 6$ for a Pint of Coors Light. A Pinot was 10$. Service very slow but very nice. The kid running the food was great and personable. Very clean, we didn't check out the bathrooms and there is some outdoor seating. 24/7 which is cool, nice clientele and ample seating around the bar with some games but plenty of regular bar seating. We would come back, the prices are not outrageous across the board, some stuff seems very reasonable, other items miss the mark. If the food stays consistent and they can get their food delivery flow tightened up, offer some locals specials, happy hours (not sure if they do or don't), and give the entertainment more than 6 minutes to take a break, it could be a nice spot. The executive chef and his team have built a delicious, varied menu! In addition to the delectable choices on the menu, each night has it's own special: tacos to prime rib to family style to bingo Wednesdays - something for everyone. Our server was prompt and attentive. Excellent service. No smoking, no vaping restaurant - Hooray! Perfect any time of day, but it's open 24 hrs so perfect for a late night dinner or snack. We are long time patrons of Remedy's and have tried Bullet train several times because it is close, and continue to leave disappointed. The Special for today was prime rib, if you offer prime rib and cannot bring it out medium rare, don't offer it. Also, if you can't keep customers drinks full at the bar and check on your customers when the place isn't even busy, maybe you shouldn't be bartending, and definitely do not expect a tip. Food was par at best and service definitely under par, then to mention the gaming, terrible. So if Bullet Train is truly my to mak money and keep customers, you're failing. We were excited to see something new near us since we live in the edge of Henderson right before going over the hill to BC. We went to Bullet Train with high expectations just judging off the menu. I should've known better. I had the Hawaiian Burger which was just okay. The sauce was nothing special, tasted like bottled sauce. Burger was pretty flat and kind of blah tasting. Hubby had the Crack Bread which was like a pull apart pizza. Also just okay. The sauce was a little watery and not a lot of flavor. Add to that, over an hour wait to get our food. We've eaten here twice now, and I have nothing but good notes. The environment is big and inviting. Clean. If you go before 530pm, it's quiet after 6. Be ready for the busy evening every day. Even at 10 pm! Which is honestly amazing. The food is also very enjoyable. I've tried everything in the photos, and they were great. My favorite is so far the nachos. I could eat those over and over. The wings were also great, with a type of dry rub/sauce rub mixture. So those are my second favorite. The messy fries make my top 3. I'm looking forward to returning. read more
