Usually when I write up reviews, they are post mortem that I have to give them solid advice about the place. This is not the case with Bullfish grill. My family ordered the spicy shrimp appetizer, pasta combo, 2 orders, and one order of the strawberry salad. Everyone was superb, and prepared well done. The chicken on the salad was perfectly cooked and slightly charred on the outside,which had a great taste. The pasta dish was excellent as well, a nice wine based Alfredo sauce complimented the chicken and vegetables in the dish. The server, Kevin S, was very friendly and very professional. Service was excellent. Waiter did a great job ,was attentive and pleasant. My wife had the Asian chicken bowl. It was great according to her. I had the fried shrimp with fries and a Yingling beer. Couldn't believe it. First the beer was skunked. You could smell it when it came to the table. I did not bother ordering another. The shrimp came out. Both the shrimp and fries were cold. The waiter was very kind and replaced the order. First time I have ever had everything bad in one meal. The reorder came out. The shrimps were good but the fries were still cold. Not impressed. The Ahi tuna wonton stacker appetizer was really good. It could be a meal on its own. My Po' Boy fish sandwich was really good too. The bread was soft with a tender well cooked fish filet that was steaming hot. My wife got the hamburger. It came out at room temperature, maybe even cooler to the touch. Guessing burgers are already pre-made and soaking in a water bath. Service was a little below average. Very few folks in the section we were in. Waitress checked on us maybe twice. We came here on a weekend night because the reviews were good and they were able to seat 8 of us quickly. We were sat at a high table in the bar area. The service was outstanding. She was very helpful and attentive to our table. Everybody loved there entrees and my husbands steak was actually cooked right the first time. I ordered the shrimp and grits and highly recommend them. The bread was very good but i did not care for the salt in the bread however everyone else loved it. The potatoe and beer dip appetizers we ordered were very good too. I know it's strange to start a review with wonderful broccoli but I must say that we were both very impressed with the garlic and spice flavor and perfect texture of the fresh broccoli that was served with our entrées. Beyond that this was a nice restaurant with nice ambiance, including afireplace, and a selection of food, wonderful flavors from the meals that we ordered, and a good value compared to other steakhouses in the area. The salmon was cooked to perfection with a nice crispiness on the edges but tender and juicy in the middle. The dill sauce with a slight lemon zest was a nice addition to the salmon. The broccoli as I mentioned was excellent. the cheesy potatoes I could have passed on and probably should have gotten another vegetable. It was dense and no flavor stood out. I also sampled the filet mignon that was cooked to the prescribed medium rare and although a little tougher than I would've expected, there was still a nice flavor and was an enjoyable meal. In a city with a mind-boggling array of meal choices, my decision to dine at Bullfish Grill was an excellent one. I could do a whole review on just the Two-Layer Key Lime Pie I had for dessert (more on that later). From my friendly greeting by the hostess, followed with quick seating in a booth as requested, to great table service, this dinner checked all the boxes. My server was Mariana, who was efficient and helpful with recommendations. I settled on a couple of local (Tennessee) ale offerings by Yee-haw, that were excellent accompaniments to my Caesar salad, and my perfectly cooked sirloin steak. The potato cracklings were an unusual and delicious side. And the fresh bread was so good I actually took the rest home! I really was not planning on having dessert, but I am a sucker for key lime pie, so I had to order the Two-Layer Key Lime Pie. So glad I did. The bottom layer is a traditional key lime "custard" on graham cracker crust, with a fluffy key lime cream cheese layer on top, whipped cream on the side. So, so yummy! Although I originally made my dinner location choice based on a $5 off coupon received at a welcome center, that was hardly relevant due to the excellent service and quality food I enjoyed tonight. We only had one waitress & she was really nice but she needed help! For my appetizer, I got the Spicy Shrimp! DELICIOUS! If that's not convincing enough, I took a to go order as well! They had the exact amount of spicy sauce! My husband got the Steak & fries. Although he tried to save some for later that night since our house was way up in the mountain, he devoured his meal! I got the crab cakes & potatoes! OMG! I saved some for later but it was a struggle! The crab cake was pan seared JUST RIGHT, with a bit of crunch on the outside! After seeing all the great reviews we decided to go for a nice dinner for my husband's birthday. I wish I could say my review could be as well as the others but... the oysters were horrible!! Sent them back and they were nice enough to take them off our bill. After the taste of the oysters o had lost my appetite but My husband ordered the steak bowl. We stopped for dinner at BullFish on Monday night 5/17/21. I thought this would be a great place for a steak. Sadly disappointed. We got seated quickly but it took a good 15 min. Before our server acknowledged us and took our drink order. Steaks were a little pricey but that's ok for a good steak. This was not it! The steak was under seasoned, poorly cooked and a bad cut of meat. He left the majority of the steak on the plate. I had a burger that was not seasoned at all. Who doesn't season meat before/while cooking it. The server never asked if there was an issue or rarely even checked on us. Won't visit there again. read more

Beer cheese, bacon, green onion & sour cream over small pieces of deep fried potato. Genius. Easier to eat than the big halves of potatoes. I would happily go back just for that. My husband and I each got a house salad, both of which were top notch. Chopped tomatoes & cucumber, light on the cheese, and SPRING GREENS (I'm not a fan of iceberg lettuce)!! Finally, my hubby got the gumbo which he really enjoyed. I got the shrimp & grits. I'm not a *huge* fan of shrimp, but the shrimp and grits were delicious. Creamy, good flavor, slightly tangy. I would order it again in a heartbeat. My kids got chicken tenders (which looked delicious!), a hot dog, and fries shrimp. The shrimp was very lightly breaded and looked to be the best fried shrimp we had gotten all week.
