This place is very cozy with a fireplace at the entry. Plenty of booths and knowledgeable servers. The menu has good variety from chops and steak to seafood and salads. I came in for a weekday lunch and ordered the spicy shrimp as an appetizer and the fish and chips. The spicy shrimp was lightly battered and fried then covered in a spicy remounted sauce and served with arugula on fried wontons. The shrimp was perfect and you get a large serving. This could easily be dinner with the addition of a side. The fish and chips were served with malt vinegar, tartar sauce, cole slaw and fries. I don't eat coleslaw so I can't report on it. The fish was lightly battered and flaky. It wasn't greasy or heavy. The fries are shoestring fries that were lightly salted. I highly recommend this place for lunch because of the superb food quality and the great service. Definitely a local gem. read more

Food was DELICIOUS! Walked in here on a whim with a party of seven after a long day at the park. We were sat in a huge booth and our drink order was taken immediately. We each order different meals, including one kid's meal, and the meals came out at the same time and hot. Everyone was so happy with their food, the 10oz sirloin was phenomenal, the fried green tomato appetizer was crave worthy, and the salted bread they give you when your drinks come is scrumptious. Shared lunch today with a dozen others on a church conference. We were originally told a 30 minute wait, but they got us in within 15 minutes. We all got seated together at a large round table. Not split up - Excellent. Amanda, our waitress was quick to take and deliver our drinks, and to take the orders. The kitchen was fast and the food arrived within ten minutes. Pretty impressive for a packed restaurant with a group so large. I had the crab cake with remoulade sauce - and it was packed with tasty chunk crab meat in every bite. My creamed spinach was the best I've had. My wife's chicken pasta was very tasty and had lots of chicken. Everyone commented on how good the food was. The entrees are about $13 each, more if you get steak I guess. We all left very happy saying we would return if we were in the area. Good job! read more

Bum rushed out. We arrived as a large party of 9. We called ahead and was told they could seat us immediately. Upon being seated we were informed it was last call for drinks. Food was served quickly with no time between our appetizers and the main course. We were just a couple of bites into the main course when the full lights were turned on and they were cleaning the dining room around us. The waitress dropped our check before we finished eating. Considering they told us to "come on" when we called it felt pretty rude. It seems like it is a nice restaurant but our experience was not pleasant. I ordered mine medium . It came out well done. It was mediocre at best. It was a poor cut of meat. It was not a prime rib. It was also very thin and small. We called the waitress over but she said she didn't know anything about steaks and got the manager . The manager said it was definitely ribeye but agreed it was not looking so great abd cooked wrong. Bullfish Grill was just what I needed on this rainy evening in the mountains. The ambience was perfectly relaxing. The hostess and the wait staff were friendly and accommodating. The warm fireplace very welcoming. I was looking for a nicer place with something at least semi healthy after two days of fried foods and pancakes! They immediately served some warm bread which was so good and very comforting after walking in the rain. I started with the ahi tuna appetizer which was lovely. I wish they would've mixed a little of the wasabi in the soy sauce and just drizzled it over but I made do and it was good. Next, I had the salmon salad. Wow! We have been in the area almost a week and haven't been too impressed with any of the food, as most of it is sub par and the menu is all fried foods. BUT this place was by far the best we went to!! We ordered the potato cracklings (a little greasy, but not too bad). We ordered the sirloin and steak salad. Both came quickly to our table prepared as we requested (not over cooked). Definitely recommend you get the sweet potato casserole as a side, it was the best I've ever had. Second visit to Bullfish, this time with the family. Had honestly planned to go somewhere else, but the wait times were insane and we only had a short window of time to do dinner. Fortunately, Bullfish didn't have a wait, but given the disparity with the attendance at the other nearby restaurants hard to not wonder why. As stated before the Fried Potato Cracklin's appetizer was fantastic! When it comes to a loaded potato type of fried appetizer (think potato skins, loaded tots or fries, etc.) this appetizer certainly IMO bests all of them. It really is that good, but I'll warn you ahead of time, once they put the dish in front of you, your not going to want to share with your other guests. Moving on to the entrée. This time I ordered the sirloin steak cooked medium. The steak was tasty, although definitely more well done than medium. It was salvageable however since the steak butter atop the cut was flavorful and easily filled the void where I had hoped more redish pink juices would have been. As far as the sides, I also got the white cheddar mashed potatoes which were good, but honestly not what I was expecting. They had a strong flavor of white pepper (which is strange I know but that's what I picked up on) Of course maybe I'm wrong, but whatever it was, it just seemed a bit strange to me. The rest of the family all enjoyed their meal and there were no complaints except for cold onion straws on the top of my wife's burger. Once again, the bread was delicious. I'm not sure exactly what I would call it but it has a sourdough vibe to it with a very nice seasoned butter/oil brushed atop the bear-claw style cut half loaf. It would be nice if there was some sort of seasoned butter to go with it like many other places do... I'm thinking like a roasted garlic butter, a sweet honey/cinnamon, or better yet just give us access to whatever you top the bread with. Truthfully though, even without it it is good. In summary Bullfish has its strengths and weaknesses. The service was stellar, the appetizer and free bread was great, and the entrees are good as well.... but could be better. Bottom line if you want a quick meal with a short waiting line that has a touch of uniqueness but the vibe of a chain restaurant, Bullfish might be your thing. I do feel that it is better suited as a lunch spot rather than a fine dining type of experience that you may be looking for. I really hate to sound negative here because its really not a bad spot by any means, there is just a lot of stellar competition in the area and I just feel the food could be better, especially for the price of some of the dishes. Lastly I want to compliment our server. I unfortunately don't remember his name but he was a younger guy, dark hair, incredibly friendly and very attentive to our table. When I told the waiter, he said that we could order the filet mignon rare or medium-rare any day and it would be so tender that it could be cut with a fork. Awesome place. The menu has something for everyone. My wife ordered the wedge salad. She loved it. The pecans on it tasted like they were toasted with just the right amount of spice. We also ordered the fried green tomatoes they came with some balsamic vinigerette , blue cheese crumbles and a littlle salad. They were awesome.
