On my way to the airport to catch a flight, I stopped by here for lunch. The restaurant is about a 5 minute drive to SFO. When I walked in at about 11:15 a.m. the small restaurant was empty. I ordered the chuck burger with fries and got a free drink with my Yelp checkin. With the free drink my meal was $9.83. The food came out about 10 minutes later. The bun was soft and the meat tasted good. The fries were hand cut and hot. I graded the burger and fries at a 3.5. It was a decent meal that enjoyed. I wish I could try other things here which would help me score it properly. I will round up to a 4 for Yelp purposes. I believe it is a good place to eat with reasonable prices. read more

Whenever my partner and I get a chance we come here for their salmon bentos! It's definitely my favorite favorite place in the bay to get salmon bentos. The portions are just right and I never leave with food coma but I still feel full since the way it's cooked feels really light and clean. It comes with a triangle shaped rice, salad and I usually get it with tempura. I don't usually like tempura cus of the oil but they've figured out how to make it perfect! Wish I got a picture! Food is still the same, no changes, nor has the prices. Place was always clean even before Covid19, however they have sitting inside and out. When we (2 people) arrived, no one was there and they have marked tables to sit, but when asked if we could sit inside she says no. Later another customer arrives alone, she sits outside also. I found this little gem by accident. I was going to a mortgage company for a AM meeting and this cafe is located at the far end of their parking lot. First I was annoyed that I had to park at the end of the lot. Then I saw this place with tables outside, decided to go in for a bite since I arrived a little early. Tried their morning glory burger...very yummy, cooked perfectly. After my meeting I went back for some sushi. This place have a diverse menu. There's American breakfast/lunch, Japanese and Korean. I saw a decent selection of baked goods, if that's what you want with your coffee. The place is very clean. Too bad I don't go to Burlingame very often, but when I do, I'll be back. OMG. They serve bison burgers here!! Jenn W has been to the SF location so when she realized we had a Bullshead Express so close to work, we made the trek down. I ordered the burger with mushrooms and it didn't disappoint. The meat was juicy and delicious and the mushrooms were sauteed perfectly. Veggie ingredients are super fresh and the fries were solid. Wait can be awhile since they cook to order. Entrance and location is kinda hard to find since its located in a super industrial area along Bayshore. Drive around to find their door before parking since we made the mistake of parking and having to trek around the entire building before finding their front door on our first time there. read more

Hidden restaurant, Bullshead has changed with the times. I first went there around 15 years ago when the menu focused on burgers. Later Bullshead expanded to Japanese food (Udon, Bento, Sushi) and hit its stride. Bullshead still offers burgers and salads so there is something for everyone. Only negative is the price - prices have regularly been increased in recent years. I used to eat here almost every day but $25/bento is too much for a daily lunch. On the plus, with the increased prices the quality has seemed to go up. It would be nice to see a return to a few lunch options that are reasonably priced. But overall I have to give 5 stars because it is deserved and is the best restaurant in the area. read more

I don't mind that most places use fake wasabi, but the wasabi I was given had so little flavor that I originally thought they'd given me avocado instead. Then I was given a new cup, and it was the same. You could eat the entire thing in one bite and taste nothing. And before you ask, I had a negative COVID test this morning. I had no idea that Bullshead Restaurant in the West Portal neighborhood of San Francisco had another shop in Burlingame. And being as tucked away as it is, it would be very hard to find. Luckily, I know someone who has the inside track on everything that's good to eat in Burlingame. I ordered my usual bacon and cheddar burger (medium rare) with a side of onion rings. Everything was cooked just the way I like it, just as they do at their West Portal location. The owner was there, working the grill and took time to come out and ask me how my meal was and even brought me a bottle of mayo (this man knows me a little too well). What took me by surprise was that this Burlingame location offers breakfast plates, unlike its San Francisco counterpart. The boy&I were looking up unique places to eat, and BullsHead Express popped up, so we figured, why not? I'd never had buffalo meat before and was curious what a bison burger tasted like. We were kind of confused by the location, and we parked kind of far from the entrance, but it was all good. The owner was suuuper nice and helpful. I ended up getting the 1/3 pound mushroom&onion bison burger [with everything] medium rare, and the boy got a medium rare terriyaki bison burger with onion rings. We didn't eat in the store, but the store is just.. a no-nonsense place where you can chill&eat. Kind of a bro-hangout spot. We took our orders and ate along the little park-ish/walkway area nearby [to watch the planes], and ohmygoodness the food was so good. Bison has a lighter taste than beef [definitely leaner], but it was just as filling. They ran out of french fries [it was about 1?], but it's okay. The onion rings are a MUST. Best onion rings EVERRRR. It was a bit pricy [about $9.70 for my burger, $11ish for the boy's burger&onion rings], but I have no regrets. I was satisfied for the rest of the day [...although I may or may not have gotten ice cream later on... Shh!!]. Definitely coming back the next time I get a burger craving and am in the area. Burgers and Sushi! I thought that's a weird combination for a restaurant to sell food. But surprisingly both are really good! Had been staying here for a business event at Hampton and found out this little restaurant right out the back door of the Hotel. They have a big menu on black board which seemed too overwhelming but they seem to do a good job on all of the stuff! There are just two people running the restaurant but don't worry about delay or bad food - they are very polite and the delivery seems to happen fast too! This nice little restaurant is hidden among the hotels, warehouses and office buildings. They have a patio at the back of the restaurant with 2 large picnic tables. Enough room for the dog to wonder around a bit without disturbing other customers. Service is great, and the price is very reasonable. I've tried their burgers, BLT, and onion rings. Holy smokes, they were about the best french fries I've ever had (they lose a bit of charm the colder they get, but don't all fr frs?) The burger was perfectly cooked; I am chock full of iron and ready to move furniture for someone. And the dishes I eavesdropped on looked equally delightful. I'd totally go back. Now, the express version is just as everyone described -- small, not much of a decor, teeny tables, and a bit challenging to find because of the construction. As I work in the area, I would come on occasion for a bison burger. They no longer carry bison :[ I came in today to see if something caught my eye. I was feeling a little soupy, but was hesitant to try the Udon. I went for the Tempura Udon... It was better than expected! Not overly salty and a good amount of noodles. Tempura veggies were fresh and not too greasy. Did think it was interesting to find a slab of potato, carrot, and an onion ring as part of the medley. Still good. I think this joint earns the honor of: My second favorite burger. The bacon was nice and crispy. The BBQ sauce on the western was smoky, the onion rings crunchy. This place is run by a sweet, older Korean couple and serves everything from burgers to bibimbap to sushi. The sushi was about what you would expect for a place like this... in fact, I would say it was slightly better than I expected, but only because my recent sushi experience at nearby Mr. Teriyaki (a similar caliber restaurant) was so supbar. However, the cheeseburger and onion rings truly disappointed: the onion rings were soaking in grease and the burger had all sorts of execution issues. I love this place, it is close to work and the prices are reasonable. I usually get the bento box #2, their spicy chicken has so much good flavors its my staple there. On colder days i go for their seafood udon. It gets me warmed up and the portions has my apetite satisfied for the rest of the day until dinner comes around. Theyre's so sweet and when I left, i said bye and the whole crew just smiled and said bye!! Also their sweet potato fries x normal fries combos good, as well as the veggie sub! The california love roll is good! Bf says the salmon is THE BEST and softest and most fresh salmon he's ever had!!! :) --update Hit or miss it seems like Sushi was great the few times i ordered until today =_= they used rice krispy cereal to top the sushi instead of tempura crunch! The rice, imitation crab meat, and avocado tasted old as well ughhh...!!!
