Not only did they bring authentic Southern Vietnamese-style/Saigon-style bún riêu here (which is a bit milder compared to Northern style), but they also brought the warmth and hospitality that I remember from Southern Vietnam/Saigon. Every staff member was incredibly friendly and respectful. They often begin their sentences with "Dạ," a Vietnamese expression of courtesy and respect, and they sincerely thank every customer as they leave. Those small details may seem simple, but they create a welcoming atmosphere that feels genuinely authentic. During my visit, I had a small issue with my food, and the staff immediately stepped in to make it right. Their attentiveness and genuine care left a lasting impression on me. I spent part of my childhood in Saigon, and this experience brought back so many memories. The hospitality, customer care, and attention to detail reminded me of the way businesses there treat their customers: with warmth, respect, and appreciation. The restaurant is also very clean and well-maintained, which made the experience even more enjoyable. From the food to the service, everything felt like a trip back to my childhood. I will definitely be coming back.

I was searching yelps - hot and new restaurants and discovered this soup shop on route to Little Saigon. They just opened a few days prior so the timing was perfect. Parking is shared since it's located in a sizable strip center. The inside is newly remodeled, and they did an impressive job. Currently the menu is only bun Rieu but I was impressed with the flavor, quality of broth and even the condiments were fresh and enhanced the soup. I was really impressed with the service and quality of the Bun Rieu here, so this is my new go to eatery for Bun Rieu.

Got here at 4pm on a Friday. Just in time to get ahead of the crowd. Small interior with limited seating. Bright and welcoming interior with an amazing painted mural. Their bun rieu was indeed as delicious as others have raved. Don't expect to find other dishes available. We weren't even offered a menu. We'll be back, it was good.

They only served Bun Rieu as they're still in soft opening mode. Place garners a waitlist as it was fully booked during my visit. The Broth has a slight sweetness to it. The fermented shrimp paste and satay chili oil definitely gives more depth to the flavor. Quality 5/5 Fresh herbs Portions 5/5- Generous as consisted of 3 blood cubes, 3 plump fried tofus, and 2 crab patties balls, and 1 piece Viet ham aka (cha). Taste 4/5 They serve a lot of broth which is nice if you want to pack a small 14 ounce to go container to savor for later consumption. Service Fast- while team works in unison. What could improve is if they add more ground pork to their crab patties. They a have different twist on their style as there are small morsel of dried shrimps added to the bowl. Overall a great place for Bun Rieu! Be wary you may get hungry soon after as these types of soups aren't heavy in filling.

Complimentary dessert: silken tofu in syrup with boba.

They are still in their soft opening phase, as they currently only serve their bun rieu noodle soups (tomato crab vermicelli rice noodle soup) at the moment. Our server said they will have their full menu available in about 2 weeks. Regardless, the reason my family and I tried this place, was because of their focus on bun rieu, a regional dish of Vietnam. So we each had a bowl of the bun rieu and it was very authentic and delicious. Broth had depth and was not overly oily (which can happen with some places). The tofu, pork blood jelly cubes, steamed pork loaf (cha), fried tofu, and crab topping were made well, cooked right and flavorful. They served the correct veggie/herb toppings too: banana blossom, stripped ong choy, mung bean sprouts, Vietnamese purple shiso leaves, and slices of kumquat (instead of lime or lemon). They also gave us complimentary desserts: silken tofu in syrup with boba. Venue is cozy, so there was a wait of about 15 minutes for our midweek lunch. Plenty of parking in this outdoor shopping plaza.

Of all the BUN, BuN rieu had always been my fav. When my mom asked me to try this place, I said sure without hesitation. We came on a weekday and there was a line. We waited about 20 minutes to get a table. Right when I walked in, I smelled a very strong odor. Not sure if that was a good thing... I love crabs, but the smell didn't smell so good. I think they only served Bun Rieu during my visit. Not sure about now. When the bowls arrived, it looked decent. A very simple bowl of bun rieu. A little of everything. Portion was honestly small for the price, imo. The broth was ok, imo. My mom thought it was a tad too sweet. Growing up eating bun rieu, I wouldn't say this place was not authentic. It was just pretty average, imo. Service was whatever. Nothing to praise about. Will return if someone wanna try it...

OC is known for the best of the best Vietnamese food. There is no shortage of pho, banh mi, or bun bo hue restaurants ... but there are not a lot of places that specializes in bun Rieu (let alone well). Bun rieu ganh, while still very new, seems to have opened with a bang and fill that void. Still in their soft opening they are only serving bun rieu at the moment. Their Bun Rieu is so good and fresh. You can really taste the crab in the meatballs (Rieu). It's definitely both quality and quantity cause I was so full after. I went with my parents and it was viet parents approved so definitely must try if you're craving a different style viet soup and are in the area.

Bún Riêu Gánh , First time visiting and overall a good experience. The bún riêu was tasty, and compared to other restaurants in the area, this place feels one of the closest to authentic Vietnamese flavor. The staff really stood out -- fast, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. Everyone was attentive and helpful, not just one person. The restaurant isn't very large, but it's clean, organized, and comfortable. Parking is spacious and easy to find, which is always a plus.

If there are any questions about what type of food is served at this place, the name of this restaurant says it all... Crab Paste Noodle Soup Stall. That is the only item they sell here. And they have done it exceptionally well. The noodles had a nice bite. The broth is clear yet flavorful. The crab paste is full of morsels of crab, and the accompanied tofu is soft yet just the right amount of chewyness. To complete the ensemble of the bowl is the flavorful congealed blood pudding had that right snap when you bite into it. A nice touch is the use of calamansi instead of lime, which provided a nice fragrant full of flavors that is not too tart if a lime is used. Being that the place only has one dish, the service was efficient and quick. The restaurant has a huge mural depicting a busy city street scene with the lady and her "gánh" of bún riêu (her mobile food stall). The mural gives the restaurant the vibe of the busy Sài Gòn street food scene, a nice touch. Overall, it's a worhtwhile repeat, and will satisfy your cravings for a nice bowl of bún riêu.

Excellent bowl of Bun Rieu and that is the only item on their menu. A long line at 13:00 pm on Monday afternoon here at this new restaurant Bun Rieu Ganh which means to carry on your shoulders on long stick as traditionally sold in the South of Vietnam and on river boats. They have 5 service staff to help customers to bring fresh hot crab noodle soup made from a traditional recipe in the South of Vietnam. This dish really appeals to many customers living around the community of Little Saigon. A simple dish but getting all the ingredients together and making it delicious for everyone to enjoy not so simple. I highly recommend you try this place and give crab noodle soup your vote of confidence today. Enjoy!!

I usually don't write reviews but I think this is an honorable mentioned. There's not many place in OC that specializes in bun rieu specifically -- but this spot was a hit! We came in on a Sunday -- soft opening & it's super packed. They're currently serving 1 dish which is bun rieu, so the wait wasn't that bad. They serve kumquat instead of lime (taking it back to vietnam) -- which I loved. The broth was rich & the fresh chili added a kick. Would def be back. If there's one thing that they're missing on the menu -- it would be canh bún. Overall -- highly recommend on giving it a try!

The Bún Riêu here is 10/10 for authenticity and flavor, but the environment and service need a major upgrade. The shop is unorganized: no greeting, no menu, and the serving order is random (others were served before me despite arriving later). Most importantly, the cleanliness was poor, with trash on the floor and stained chairs. Great food deserves a clean space to be enjoyed properly. I hope they improve because the flavor is worth it.

The banchan was simple but solid too, especially the big slices of cucumber and daikon, along with pieces of pancake on the side. The meal starts with what feels like an endless lineup of little side dishes, a fried fish, rice in a scorching hot stone bowl, and then the bubbling tofu soup (medium spice for me) arrives like it's angry at the table. I ordered the bulgogi combo (C2) and everything was flavorful, comforting, and honestly just fun to eat. OK maybe a few too many onions for me. The stone pot rice situation was an adventure on its own. They ask you if you want them to pour hot water into the bowl to loosen the crispy rice stuck to the sides. I tried it. Felt very authentic. Still not fully convinced my rookie self handled it correctly, but we survived. What I liked most was the atmosphere and adventure. You can tell this place has a loyal following and there's a reason Yelp absolutely loves it. It feels authentic without being intimidating, and the portions are no joke. Sister and I trying to order the same hot pot I ordered before and owner told us no, we cannot swap the pork belly out on the Thai hotpot. Told him I was able to do that before. He said "I'm not sure who let you do that but no, we do not allow that." I told him "you did, you let me swap the pork belly for the lean beef the previous time. I still have a picture of it on Yelp". Anyhow, he insisted No. We went ahead and ordered two beef hotpot's and the broth was salty. We had to pour some water in the hotpot to soften up the saltiness. Second incident: I came here on Thursday evening. Walked in that door at 9:10 pm and the server quickly told me: "No, we already had our last call!" Say what? the sign on the door says open til 10:00 pm and it is only 9:10 pm? If you don't want to serve late, then change your hours listed on the door and close those doors at 9:00 pm instead. Not good!!!
