Took the family over for early dinner. Overall person taking our order was great. However, many of the items weren't available. My boys ordered their ice cream, never showed up until we had to go up twice to ask for it. Some of the food was undercooked, 3 out of 6 members of my family got sick. Hopeful both service and quality of the food will improve. If it wasn't for the person taking our order and her positive attitude, I would have given them 2 star rating. read more

We were in town for Thanksgiving weekend and I wanted to eat authentic Pakistani food. I searched yelp and was pleased to know there was a Bundoo Khan was only 10 mins away from our hotel. We went Thanksgiving day and got t was very busy! We had to wait over 30 mins for our food but the staff was clearly working hard to help so many people. It was worth the wait - the food was AMAZING and delicious like the original Bundoo Khan in Karachi. My favorite was the beef gola kabab but malai boti and Bihari kabab was also good. Their Chicken and Beef Signature Seekh Kababs were almost identical. Same texture. Is it supposed to melt in your mouth? I kinda want to have to chew it. It even tasted kinda same. Disappointed. It did have the "signature" aroma though from seasoning. That's about it. Also even though they have tortilla on the menu but it's just there. On the menu. They don't serve it with tortillas. The pooris that they call Paratha was dripping oil. Literally. If you order paratha rolls, they put some watery chutney in there, so the rolls disintegrate completely. You HAVE TO un-roll it. Rolls are inedible. The only thing that I would go back and eat (If someone push me enough to go there) is the Chicken Tikkas, nothing wrong with those. read more

We went to Bundoo Khan USA a couple of weeks back. I had heard so much about it so I really wanted to try it out. We went in the morning since we had heard that usually there is a wait, especially on the weekends. To our surprise, there was no wait. There were several empty tables. I was happy to see a desi restaurant to be so clean. The interior is also nicely made and there is lots of seating. I don't care about curries, I like bbq. I wanted to try their Bihari kebabs and their malai boti since we cannot get those at any other place in the Bay. My husband ordered some more things but I just had these 2. The food came v quickly. I thought it would take a while. I was happy about that since I was super hungry The food was fresh and hot. When we were ordering, my husband wanted parathas. When we got the food, they were actually puris. So I think they should change that on the menu and write 'puri'. I liked the naans. Both the dishes I wanted to try out, malai tikka and Bihari kebabs, they were really good and melt in the mouth good. Their green chutney is v good. We ordered 2 bihari kebabs and 1 malai boti. We got 2 malai boti and 1 Bihari kebab. When I took the tray back to them and told them, the guy actually just took one of the malai boti plates back and gave me a plate of bihari kebabs According to health codes they cannot do that since it could have been tainted or touched by our hands and it should not be given to another customer. If a restaurant makes a mistake, they just given that extra dish complimentary and I thought I will have an extra dish to go home and enjoy later but alas Tea is $2 here and at Shalimar it's free even when we are waiting in line. So yeah, the price point is the biggest difference between Shalimar and this place. Shalimar is our go to desi place. they have been able to maintain their food quality and prices forever. Their food portions are v good. For the price, the food portions at Bundo Khan are definitely smaller in comparison. We were just 2 people and went with our little one. The bill was over $100. For this much, we would have a lot more food at my go to place. My husband picked up falooda for me on our way out since we had heard a lot about it. It was excellent and a meal within itself for sure but I found it to be super expensive, I believe $7. We got bihari kebabs for family we were going to visit and that to go order was also ready really quickly and later our family told us that they really enjoyed them. It's good that they have an option for kids so the adults can enjoy their food. we live far so we won't be able to go often but yes if we are nearby, I would have the malai boti and bihari kebabs again. read more

Went to Bundoo Khan on a Thursday night around 7:00. I waited about 30 minutes in line to order. We ordered chicken tikka, beef seekh kabob, chicken malai bhoti. For bread, we split 1 paratha amongst 3 people and 2 naan. The paratha as expected was pretty oily but tasted good with the seekh kabob. The naan are very big and taste fresh. Our food only took about 10 minutes. Everything was hot and fully cooked. The chicken tikka had a nice charcoal grilled taste. I liked the chicken tikka the best, followed by the seekh kabob and then the malai chicken. The place is still very busy. When we left the line was out the door. I think it's the best chicken tikka and seekh kabob in So Cal. I will definitely be coming back. Remember to get the chutney's, they really add to the flavor. It is self serve. read more

I had high expectations but this place did not deliver. I grew up eating Indo pak style bbq/ kebab preparations and can definitely tell if the food is authentic or it lacks. There is so much overuse of meat tenderiser that By the time it is grilled it has already turned into a meat paste with odd pasty texture. I honestly thought I was eating beef liver while biting into behari boti and gola kabab..it actually had liver like smell and texture which was very off putting. Chicken tikka breast had almost no flavour and had a gamey smell which is weird for any chicken preparation. Halwa was boring with monotonous flavour. Overall a big disappointment. read more

My order was made late. The manager was extremely rude and disrespectful. She could use some customer service training. Employees were almost afraid to speak to her - not acceptable! It's been almost a year since they opened. After the initial struggles for a few weeks, they got their act together and have maintained their high quality and consistency of good taste. We go there almost once a week and the food is always visually appealing, hot and incredibly delicious... I remember the taste of the original Bundoo Khan in Karachi and this one in Fullerton has exactly the same taste... In fact the crew at Fullerton was actually trained by the crew in Karachi... They have kept with their training and we are all benefiting from it... I wish them all the luck in the world.
