So I came here to try the food because it's on A1 a and for the most part everything is similar. This is more of a bar/restaurant so it's pretty nice and it looks to be pretty popular I tried to group or with the french fries blackened in a wrap but it was about $14 and kind of flavor list. I added a bunch of salt and hot sauce to try to help it out But there was nothing that could be done to help it with flavor. I am not a big fish eater so I'm not the best judge on what that was supposed to taste like but it is not something I would order again inside of a wet. The fries were good deal again lots of salt and catch up. Next time I will probably come to this place for a drink but not for the food. read more

We are in the area for the weekend and did take out tonight, have to say the food was not great. My husband had the fried oysters which were ok enough, I had the ahi tuna platter which was so over cooked I threw it out together with the Mac & cheese which would have been better from a box. This used to be our go-to seafood spot. Always the same order, 1 lb shrimp Hot and 1 doz steamers, to share. The shrimp are still really good, the clams are no longer clean and tasty like they used to be. Our last couple orders have been loaded with sand, very gritty. You could see the sand and grit in the bottom of the tray when the waitress set it on the table, so there is absolutely no way this went un-noticed by her or the kitchen staff. Our friends ordered "seared Tuna", it was fully cooked tuna, actually over cooked. To make it worse, it was bad tuna and was returned to the kitchen. So, I expect the reply to say "You should have brought this to your servers attention". A good staff, the old staff, would not have let this be delivered to our table. I guess this is a product of the Charlie and Jakes management, it's not the same quality that used to come out of the kitchen. I still love the steamed shrimp, and clam chowder, but the rest of the menu really isn't worth checking out, IMHO. Too bad really. read more

This is a warm and hot welcome from Florida since I'm not from this area. Bunky's fish and chips, and ahi tuna is to die for! The interior is decorated with their merchandise, fish tanks, and tv screens. Near the front is a bar area so I'm imagining the place gets busy near the evening and happy hour. We were seated after a 45 minute wait. Once seated the appetizers were delivered , grilled oysters, tuna, chips and dip and mozzarella sticks. Then the wait started. One and a half hours later no food delivered! No explanation for the extended wait. The kids ordered corn dog and chicken tenders! We ordered a shrimp platter and the seafood tower! Came for raw and steamed oysters at lunch and they were very good!!! Came back for dinner and well...not good. Hair in the nachos. They were promptly replaced with apology but new nachos had onions (requested no onions) and was missing the guacamole. Tuna poke bowl isn't really poke. It's seared tuna on rice. We've been coming to Bunky's for many years. We've always enjoyed the peel and eat shrimp and grilled oysters. Last night, we again got terrible oysters. I guess we should have known. Five of the oysters were the size of a pencil eraser. The other two were the size of a quarter :( The peel and eat shrimp were mushy. What a great meal for our last night in Florida. There are plenty of choices if you enjoy fresh seafood. I had the clams in white wine/garlic sauce. It was very good, and was served with lots of fresh toasted bread. A friend ordered the fried oysters. I tried one and was pleasantly surprised how good they were. The locals know. Bunky's been around for ever. Good spot for a beer, some grub, and a good talk with your friends. I'm leaving as a 4 due to the iconic nature of the place, but I will say the menu prices have made it much less attractive. I will say this though, if you're an oyster connoisseur, bite the bullet and pay the 29.99 for the gigamoto's. Best oyster I have ever had by far. Of all the restaurants we visited over the week we were in Melbourne, I have to say, avoid this place. The parking lot was packed and the bar was very busy. However, it appears the drinks are what draw people in the most. Underwhelming and gross food to say the least. If you like over battered chicken sandwiches, french fries that taste burnt, rubbery pizza, and inedible Mac and cheese - this is the place for you. The oysters were just fine and the crocodile was ok. I suppose their signature food being mediocre is ok for the masses. Oysters Rockefeller came out fresh and hot. Absolutely delicious with a dash of Tabasco. Seafood pasta in white wine sauce-- had clams, shrimp, and scallops. Good, but next time a few more clams. Plenty of shrimp but skimpy on scallops and clams. TONS of pasta.... Snow crab was fresh and sweet with hot drawn butter. Gator tail grilled was more memorable than the fried. Our server was good even if overloaded by the crowd at lunch...only two servers! If you're looking for a sandwich, this is a definite must! The avocado and wasabi sauce was just right without being messy. I chose the thin sliced rounds of zucchini for a side. Although a little small on the portion, it was tasty. Hubby had the blackened grouper Fisherman's Sammy. The fish tasted fresh and the soft bun made the sandwich all more delicious. He had it with tater tots. Nobody can say anything bad about tater tots! Little one had macaroni and cheese. It's not your Kraft macaroni and cheese which I was pleasantly surprised, so of course I had to steal bites. We ended with key lime pie. Thankfully it's with a graham cracker crust. They make it in-house. It wasn't amazing but it was very good. I prefer a more tart flavor, but anything on top of graham cracker crust is okay by me. Besides the amazing food, our waitress went above and beyond. So friendly and helpful and she really made our experience all the more enjoyable. The first time I went there, I didn't stay or eat because it smelled fishy as soon as I opened the door. However, it was recommended by a friend, so, three months later, I went back for a second try. I should've stayed home. The food was 'okay'. Yeah, I wasn't bowled over or wow'ed but I wasn't grossed out either, well, UNTIL I saw the chef wipe off a knife with a wet hand towel that he had been wiping the counter with. Can you say GERMS? Perhaps E. Coli? Salmonella? I was wow'ed then for sure! The food was cold and NOT the way I ordered it, but I think that was mostly because the service "sucked", for lack of a nicer way to put it. Maybe if I'd been 21 years old, or a surfer dude, maybe I would have gotten better service. The waiter seemed to spend a lot of time on that side of the room, but I'm a much better tipper, IF ONLY he'd have given me good service. He even apologized for making me wait. How considerate. NOT. We liked it so much the first time we came back the next day! After a late flight we stumbled into Bunky's a half hour before they closed on Wednesday night to get a snack. Despite it being close to closing time noone, from the bar tender to the waitress, made us feel as if it were an I convenience. We ordered the clam bowl and a burger and a piece of lava cake. Our server Barb was cheerful, helpful and a fantastic server. She even made an entire pot of coffee for my father in law even though they had cleaned the coffee machine. The restaurant was clean, well lit, and the bathrooms are almost done being renovated and are beautiful, the food delicious and the service top notch. We had such a wonderful all round experience last night that we took friends of ours out to dinner tonight and returned to Bunkys. This evening we had Shelby who did a phenomenal job with our larger party and Barb from last night remembered us and checked on us as well, again joking with us, confirming that our order choices were spot on and making sure we had everything we needed even thought we weren't her table! We ordered sliders, an order of raw oysters and an order of steamed oysters for apps. Everything was fresh and delicious. For dinner we had the poki bowl, snow crabs, blackened grouper, grilled mahi, and fish and chips. Everyone of us were very happy. Shelby recommended a good glass of wine and they were happy to make a couple of glasses of sangria. This is hands down my new favorite place in Indialantic.
