I am a regular customer of Buona in Beverly, and in the past year, I have only had a few less than excellent, and needless to say, unhappy experiences. Once, the air conditioner was out of order and it was raining indoors in the summer. On another occasion the rainbow ice cream cake was discontinued. But the food was always fresh and satisfactory. This time I was very disappointed. I went through the drive thru, and because the food is usually satisfactory, I did not check for accuracy or quality. I found, after getting home, that the chicken tenders were unusually dried out. Very disappointing. I also had a chicken sandwich, which I saved for dinner. The chicken was also very disappointing. It was rubbery and also dried out. The toppings were fresh. But the chicken was not. Very disappointing. I was not prepared to go back to get a refund or replacement. I hope I will not have that disappointing experience again. Rachel, manager was very apologetic for my sad experience, when I called but did not offer any recourse. Even though I am a rewards member. I just lose my money and go hungry. I definitely had to throw out the food. It was NOT very tasty. IF I ever decide to try this restaurant again, I will most certainly check the bag. In the mean time I think Ill just check out Nicky's down the street. You may have just lost a customer. Buona, don't treat anyone else like this! This weekend I went all out over this place. I heard about it being National Italian Beef day and I wanted in on the giveaway, a free Italian Beef sandwich. I'll tell you, what some people won't do for food. I was taught not to be a mooch, so I ordered something extra from the menu, a chopped salad and an extra 10" cheesy beef just in case the freebie was skimpy. Sharing is caring, and you never know what's coming next, or who you might meet before sundown. TMALSS, the sandwiches were tasty. The salad didn't compare to the one I get at Portillo's. Different strokes for different folks. Next time, maybe I'll get a burger instead. There were also some negatives on this visit, but none worth remembering now. I'll be back. read more

Okay I was an early vocal supporter of this place, and to be quite honest I am forced to reevaluate them after I have consistently over the last three visits to be extremely disappointed in what has become a poor shadow of what it once was. The burgers, precooked and served hours if not days after they were cooked. Overdone and dry as dirt. The cheese seems to taste like rubber, like cheese left out overnight. The pizza ingredients taste like they too have been sitting around. Dried chicken on the BBQ chicken pizza. All in all their quality control fell off a cliff, and they need to step it up. I'm a regular Buona customer and I always seem to have problems at this Buona location. One time I was forgotten about at the curbside pickup, another time ordered an avocado jack burger and it was made incorrectly, another time I received a chicken avocado jack burger instead of a regular one, and just today they didn't add the avocado I paid extra money for on an item. After I got home, my boyfriend and I called the restaurant to see what they could do about his burger missing the avocado. A gentleman spoke with us and said we could come back to have them make the correct sandwich, but I was already home and didn't have time to drive back and forth. I was then put on hold for about 8 minutes. I eventually gave up and ended the call. I don't want to be "that customer" that complains about a missing ingredient that cost me an extra dollar, but I'm getting really frustrated with this location. read more

Great place! Super glad to have a Buona in the neighborhood. Everything always taste fresh and great. I've orders off DoorDash a few times and they always follow the extra special directions. We support the Morgan Pk location once or twice a month. It's amazing they can provide a pizza as quickly as they do. The food is tasty when you receive the correct order. Two of the last three visits our order was taken properly, but bagged incorrectly. Tonight Jesus took our order (#440). It printed correctly. I thought the Divine Intervention would help them, but unfortunately when I arrived home, we had someone else's order. Additionally He failed to convert our water order to wine, angering my wife who had to return to the dinner line. The family behind us with the little kids who didn't receive their chicken nuggets are also pretty disgusted. Jesus needs some new disciples. read more

Two weeks ago, I bought a beef sandwich, potato salad and 2 large lemonades to go. The sandwich was delicious but the potato salad was just okay. Within 20 minutes, l began feeling horrible. I had cramps in my stomach. I alternated from feeling nauseous to being unable to poop. What followed was an unbelievably painful and uncomfortable 48 hours. I will not return. Hey, the italian beef is a Chicago classic. Serve up one of Buona's beefs to an outsider, and there's a very good chance they may like it. As for myself, I was never really a fan. I grew up in Berwyn, and had many visits to the Buona there...by the time I moved, I only went there if co-workers were already going..I had about four other places I would prefer instead. I usually go through the drive through to get my beef, but on this particular day I was waiting for my daughter's class to end at the BAC up the street, so I had time to sit down. The guy at the register was cool and thorough, and my order came out pretty fast. I ordered a 7" beef dipped with hot peppers, fries and I had a chocolate chip cookie for dessert. I ate the cookie while I was waiting on my food, and it was amazing. My beef and fries came out shortly after and it was pure perfection. I accidentally said dipped instead of baptized, so it was a bit dryer than I like. I asked the server for more juice and she brought out a small bowl of the gravy. The bread was crispy and chewy, and I dipped it in the gravy. With those hot and crispy fries with ketchup, I knew I had found my way. Best menu option is the Italian beef sandwich, there are many ways to customize this Chicago classic here. Pizzas are good too. Service is mixed at best - in fact I have not been here in some time because of this. Online order process is smooth up until you arrive at the restaurant to pick it up. Signage directs you to the open end of the kitchen. Prepare to be ignored. Orders are frequently wrong. The worst was when I ordered a cheeseburger with everything except pickles, and received a cheeseburger with ONLY pickles. This one of the newer Buona Restaurants in the area. What I like about this place is that the dining room tables face the street and you can watch what is going on outside. But be that as it may, this is pretty much like any other Buona I have been to. The staff is very friendly and they come by and see how things are going. The only thing about Buona, they are a little on the pricy side and there is not much beef in the sandwich. But the six dollar Thursday pizza is a great deal. Overall pretty average food. I used to work a block away and was in ALL of the time because I had an hour for lunch and hated sitting in a break room for that time. They've since changed their menu, removing my favorite sandwich, the turkey club panini, and have changed their chips. Both negatives in my opinion. Those chips used to be amazing! Their beef is okay, Portillo's is better in my opinion. I'd recommend stopping in on a Thursday when their pizza is $5, or $6 for premium. When eaten there, their pizzas are delicious. I will not be returning to this location. They have been going down hill for the past few months. This evening I went to the drive through menu on the right side & I just sat there as I watched three cars go through the left menu side. I'm very patient but after I honked my horn I realized nobody was working my side. Myself & the car behind me proceeded to the window. The guy at the window told me they were short staffed and that he was "exhausted" & they didn't have anyone for the other side. I placed my order & when they brought it out, gravy spilled on my pants and on the door of my car! I asked for gravy on the side & instead I received a soaked bag with a soaked sandwich. By the way, drive through guy was also bringing food to the cars...So after talking with two workers (although they were both pleasant) I asked for my beef sandwich to be re-made, which they did, I wasn't offered any type of compensation or a free item.
