I've tried several pizza places and have never found the right fit until now! Born in Brooklyn and raised in Dover, NJ, moved to Chandler,AZ as an adult! Once you've had authentic East Coast pizza, it's hard to accept what AZ considers GOOD pizza! We are so happy to have found Buono's. I can't wait to try everything on their menu! Oh, and the added bonus??? They carry Drakes cakes! Dinner and dessert to die for! Great experience!!

This is a very authentic NY spot. It's a an homage to everything NY. The decor, the food, they have a couple more coolers full of NY groceries. I am gluten free and ordered the gluten free pizza which unfortunately was not one of the best I have had in the valley, edible but not delightful. My husbands pizza was amazing and the wings were super great, this is one of my husband's favorite pizza places. We will definitely be back, the service was top notch and they do have other gluten free options. I'm going to try the cauliflower crust next time. I just did the regular gluten free.

Came for a couple slices and was pleased with everything about is. Size, taste, amount of cheese and pepperoni were right up there with the way I like it. Great owners and staff. Ask you how everything is and they mean it! Nice and comfortable great looking shop.

I have always wanted to try this place out as we have driven past multiples times. I finally made it in on Saturday night and I brought along my sister and friend. We were quickly greeted as we walked in and told to pick a table. We sat down and the friendly server brought us the menus. She gave us a few minutes to look them over and we were finally ready to order. We ordered: One large "the works" pizza One order of 6 boneless wings One Pepsi One rasberry iced tea The wings were brought out first and they were good. They were the perfect hot level and they were breaded perfectly to where we could see that there was actually chicken inside. The pizza was then brought out right as we finished our wings. It came out very hot and it was cooked perfectly as it had a nice crunch to it. The sausage was delicious and the onions were yummy. The slices are big! We had two left over and they still tasted great the next day. Service was great throughout our meal and our server was friendly. They were pretty busy the entire time we were there and most people had to go orders. The inside was clean and the mural / pictures they have up on the walls were fun to look at. The main doors to come in are pretty cool as it is a picture of a subway.

I've tried many pizza restaurants and I have to say, the pizza here is unique from most in the area. I had what I thought would be a basic cheese pizza slice (called "Napolitan Slice" on their menu). Yet, I was amazed at how perfectly crunchy the crust was in every bite. It has the perfect flop that every New-York-style pizza has, but it's not soggy whatsoever. There is a plentiful amount of cheese and the seasoning is pleasantly distinctive. Based on my pizza endeavors, I think it's safe to say that this restaurant has their pizza down to a science. If this is how good their simplest type of pizza is, I can only imagine how divine their other slices taste. What's more, our server was really generous and gave me and my friend an extra drink since they knew we were splitting the lunch special. The staff even gifted us free fries as an appetizer (which were seasoned beautifully btw, I would order again)! All of the staff here are very welcoming, friendly, and attentive. This pizza restaurant is a great business to support, and I am excited to try more of their menu next time I'm in the area.

Awful! Ordered the "Margherita Stracciatella pizza pie" So overcooked the sauce was dried into the dough. Thinner than a cracker. No NY flop to it. And it was not 27". $30bucks and still had to take the hubby out to eat.

I had the cauliflower crust with pesto and pepperoni- YUM- and daughters shared a small pepperoni pizza that was bigger than we thought it was gonna be- ha ha - then the antipasto salad- all excellent! Amazing place so glad the re-opened We used to always go to the Dobson location and now it will be the this new location. Perfect NYC style pizza. I know grew up there. No nonsense and by the slice. Perfection.

Pizza Hut sucks, but Buonos doesn't so we made up our own Buonos Book It and our daughter happily earned a pizza with reading time

We went here the other day and as we were about to walk in, we noticed a sign that said the inside was closed due to a party but we could order for take out on the other side of the restaurant. We walked in and were greeted right away! The lady that greeted us was very informative and very nice! We ordered the lunch special which included 2 slices and a drink. As we were waiting for our food which only took about 5-7 mins, she handed us a complimentary slice of limoncello cake! We were very pleased and excited to try it! It was already super busy in there from the party, so it was a very nice gesture to do. Once we got our food, we left and ate and it was SO good! It was hot and fresh and very New York pizza! We will definitely be back to try more of their delicious food! Thanks for a great first visit Buonos! read more

I have been trying to find a place that has good subs. This is essentially the same review I gave another place. My go to place for sandwiches is DeFalcos in Scottsdale. I love their crusty hard roll bread. I decided to order Buonos Pizza cold sub. The sandwich had all the elements of a great sandwich except for the bread. I'm not saying the bread was bad it was a fresh soft sub roll and it was good. It was not the hard crusty bread I love. I still give it 5 stars just wish they would expand their bread choices. read more

This place is outstanding. Full disclosure , I've been eating at Buono's for a very long time and in my opinion it's arguably the best New York slice in Arizona and has been since the early 90s. When I found it had reopened under close to the original ownership I hightailed my fatass out their ASAP. I'm not nostalgic and I certainly wouldn't give five stars if it wasn't worthy. Yesterday was my first time trying this restaurant for pizza and wings. The pizza was good and had great flavor. I ordered medium and hot wings. Unfortunately the wings were extremely bland and had no heat to them. The zucchini was flavorful but the only complaint is the zucchini was put in a styrofoam container with foil that made the zucchini soggy. Other than that I will be coming back to this restaurant for my pizza. read more

Not sure what I was expecting, but.... It wasn't this! The margherita pizza was great with light sauce, lots of fresh basil, ripe tomato, and delicious crust. But that wasn't the "star of the show*... That calzone? OMG! SO, imagine a perfect savory pastry and you're half way there! Just trust me, try the calzone. We will be back soon! read more

So this pizza place was great, the pizza was delicious and the wings were great, the wings could be bigger but overall they were crispy and they use franks hot sauce so it's the best buffalo flavor. I would definitely return and continue trying the other items on the menu read more

Great place to get a pizza. I came to this place after a terrible experience from a lesser establishment and I was very impressed. This is that New York, hole in the wall pizza place we were looking for, everthing is made from scratch perfectly cooked and delicious. We had wings, cheesy garlic bread and a large mushroom, sausage and pepperoni thick crusted pizza with house salad. The pizza was a beast, huge with fresh ingredients, cheesy and a thick tasty crust. The wings were perfectly cooked with a tasty sauce. Salad was fresh. We will be back! read more

This place has the best Pizza in the entire State of Arizona. I have lived in Arizona since 1985, I have tried it all. Buono's Pizza is the best hands down. The service is top flight, the atmosphere though small is family friendly, and the food is as I said before the best. My youngest is a very picky Pizza eater, and we are not allowed to go anywhere else for Pizza according to my eight year old. I first found Buono's in 1995, as it was a regular hang out for me and my friends in High School, as well as a main stay on Friday Nights for my family. I was so excited that they came back, and the Pizza is even better now then it was back then. If you want a friendly, chill, family setting with incredible food and even better service then you have to come here it is worth the trip, time, and money!!!! read more

Food is good the staff is NOT!! If you enjoy being treated rudely, by all means, eat here! Not sure if the middle-aged man with tattoos making pizzas in the back is an owner/manager or just an employee, but he is severely lacking in costumer service skills! Unfortunate because we had heard great things about this place and were looking forward to the experience. We will NOT be back! read more

We ordered a deep dish pepperoni and sausage pizza, a Caesar salad, fries, and water. The salad and fries came out quickly and were good, but we waited until 7:52 for the pizza. During that time, several staff members including what seemed to be a manager, were loudly yelling back and forth across the restaurant about staffing and schedules. With no music or TV volume, it was impossible not to hear, and it felt very unprofessional. Meanwhile, our water glasses sat empty. I had to ask three separate times for refills, and the third time I actually had to get up and find our server at the bar, where she was sitting, still discussing the schedule. When the pizza finally arrived, it was delicious. But basic things like Parmesan and pepper weren't offered. I had to flag someone down to ask. And even though we'd just received our food, the lights on the patio were turned off while we were eating, and we were brought a box very quickly, which felt like a not-so-subtle hint to leave. Overall, the food was good, but the customer service and atmosphere really took away from what should have been a nice birthday dinner for my daughter. Very disappointing experience.

Then an 18" shared pizza of cheese and loaded. I had the loaded and the toppings were all delicious. If you remember where Flancer's in NE Mesa was - run, don't walk, to Brooklyn V's! This is authentic as it comes!!!!

We saw they were from Chicago where we are transplanted from. Also, the name was like Salerno butter cookies. Idk if they are related. Anyway, the amazing food items we enjoyed were the spaghetti and meatballs and chicken Parmesan. To my surprise was the creamy garlic salad dressing!!!! It tasted just like Tonelli's in Northbrook, IL where I grew up (except Salerno's wasn't mint green). Fast forward 2026, WOW, it's been about 5 years since I've been here because we are no longer in the area. I happen to be close by and decided to get some of the creamy garlic dressing and a side of meatballs. As soon I got home, it did not disappoint!! The homemade meatballs smothered in for real marinara sauce and the homemade creamy garlic dressing I put on top of a bed of crispy romaine lettuce with croutons. They had not changed in flavor and quality!! Thank goodness!! The hostess greeted me right away and took my order which was ready in no time at all!! The interior was updated with the casualness the Chicago transplants enjoy. I'll be back sooner than later!

I don't know the server's name, but it was a guy with black hair and a little facial hair. You'd think since we were the first customers, the food would come out pretty quick, but it took almost 40 minutes. It doesn't take that long to make a 12-inch pizza and a chicken salad. When my pizza finally came out, it was barely hot. Then about 5 minutes later, the chicken salad came. Like, really? Took 40 minutes to make a small salad. I wouldn't have minded the wait as much if the service was good, but it wasn't. The server barely checked on us, and I had to signal him just to get refills. After we finished eating, we had to wait almost another 20 minutes for the check because our table was getting ignored and I had to signal him again The food is decent, but the service this time was terrible.

I made a reservation for a family of four and arrived on time during an early dinner period when the restaurant was not yet full. Because we were dining with a toddler and a baby, I politely asked if we could be seated indoors. There were several empty tables inside, but the hostess insisted that those tables were reserved. When I mentioned that I also had a reservation, her response was dismissive and came across as rude. She seemed annoyed and said, "So what? Do you want to sit outside or not?" The weather wasn't terrible, but with two young children, I had hoped for a little more understanding and flexibility. My husband was upset enough that he wanted to leave, but we stayed to avoid disrupting dinner for our kids. The food was still very good, which is why this experience was so surprising. I would recommend additional customer service training for the hostess staff, as the quality of service should match the quality of the food.

What a perfect low key baby shower idea, and an amazing location where we hosted on their patio for a relaxing event. The pizza always has an exceptional cheese pull, and delicious. Loved the set up on the table for a grab a plate and add some delicious items (pizza, wings, and salad) with drinks/cups on another table. I can see this set up working for graduations as that season is coming up, baby showers, birthday parties, or even just a date night sitting in one of their booths. I'm glad we did because it's one of those menu items you have to experience at least once, but wow, it is rich. A few bites was plenty for me, and it's probably the one thing I wouldn't order again. Elote was decent but wouldn't order again. Mexi-Q could easily lean too far into the gimmick of BBQ-meets-Mexican, but instead they focus on doing the food right. I'll be back for that brisket taco and enough extra BBQ sauce to make questionable life decisions.

It was about 5:30 PM on a Wednesday and the place was Poppin! The bar was completely full and it was loud!. We did not have a reservation and the only open seating was at the bar or high tops in the bar area. We were quickly greeted and our server was incredibly on top of it! I noticed that the main menu had a line at the bottom that stated a gluten-free menu would be available upon request. I did ask to see this menu as gluten-free is my dietary preference, not an allergyand I was brought a complementary gluten-free bun instead of the pretzel bread. I thanked our server and told him not to worry that it was just a preference and he told me that he treats all gluten friendly requests as an allergy. I really appreciated the care and concern he had for my health and well-being. This is unprecedented at most restaurants. They had a very extensive gluten-free menu and I can't wait to go back and try so many more items. We did try the Leonard burger and made quite a few modification requests - all of which were 100% accommodated. This burger was so incredibly juicy! My entire hand was dripping by the time I got done eating it. Everything else we tried was delicious. I have no complaints or suggestions for improvement and will definitely be returning soon!

That question turned into Carl proudly explaining the process from preparation, to smoking to plate and everything in-between. His enthuasism, artisanal detail, and forthrightness to answer our questions were extremely valued and appreciated. Carl went way beyond our expectations and set the tone for the rest of our meal. After conversing with Carl he walked us to the counter, introduced us to the staff making the plates and explaned the ordering process to us. We ordered several items on the menu so we we could each sample them. The brisket was exceptional... on point. Burnt ends were delicious. Sausage is a must to order. Absolutely incredible. Sides were lights out. The Mac and cheese was marvelous. Picnic perfect potato salad. Superb slaw and the corn casserole let's just say that we should have ordered a much larger size. We met Mason when we were checking out. His over the top customer service and genuine care for our satisfaction were greatly appreciated. As we were eating both Carl and Mason came over to see if we were enjoying our meal. We couldn't praise them enough. Everything about our visit was phenomenal. I am very picky about pizza having had it all over the state and all over the country. Everybody has an opinion on pizza and they like all types but for me New York Pizza is the best and highest quality of all of them and very hard to find out here.I just had.my fill on my recent Trek back. Lol For years there were no places in the valley at all that had good New York Pizza except Buono's and then they closed and moved on to other adventures. That was a sad day for all my New York family and friends. Of course they did end up coming back. However, this newer restaurant is very far from where I live so I don't get to go there too often. If you like NY pizza it is the closest to New York style pizza here is in the valley. Once Upon a Time B u o n o s was the only place that had good New York pizza. There's a few more places these days that have opened up over the years that resemble a slightly good Slice of New York Pizza. Even the owners from my New York Hood Pizza Joint own a restaurant in Mesa Arizona.now. That was really strange finding out a place I grew up with had actually moved to Arizona and we didn't know about it. Howeve, with that said Bono's was the original and only one around for and we've been going for decades I believe they stopped owning a restaurant for a few years to run an art studio in Scottsdale but definitely back in business now. I wouldn't believe Katie's review about people not knowing good pizza because I definitely am a person who knows good pizza. The original location is owNed by a relative and I have not tried it yet. Sadly, when the Original owners reopened they moved way further east away from me so I do not get to go often. Although I do know NY ers who will.drive over an hour from other parts of the valley to eat Here. If you like white pizza theirs is amazing. I have an original punch card from 40 years ago which is a nice nostalgia memorabilia thing that made the staff member recently smile. read more

Every single one of them treats you like you've been coming there for years -- like they're serving their own family. (Granted, they're still taking my money... but hey, when the pizza's this good, I'm happy to hand it over. ) Now, let's talk about the star of the show -- the pizza. Oh. My. Dough. After stopping by Fox Cigar Bar next door, I decided to grab a bite to eat on my way home. With Buono's just a few doors down, it seemed like the perfect spot to pick up a pizza to go. It wasn't until I walked in that I realized it was only 30 minutes before closing time. I felt a bit guilty about coming in so late, but the staff reassured me it was no problem at all. Having enjoyed their pizza before, I stuck with my "bare minimum" order: a pepperoni and mushroom pizza. I couldn't resist adding some zeppole for dessert. They let me know it would take about 20-25 minutes, so I settled in at a table to catch the pre-season football game on TV. While I waited, a gentleman thoughtfully offered me a drink, which was a nice touch. Right on time, my pizza and zeppole were ready, brought out by a friendly young woman. She asked if I was familiar with their fridge magnets - I was not! It turns out you get a magnet with large or extra-large pizza orders, and once you collect 10, you get a free pizza. Good to know! When I got home, I dug into the pizza immediately, and it was still hot and delicious. The zeppole were a perfect sweet finish to the meal, with plenty left over to enjoy later. While I haven't explored the rest of their menu yet, I wouldn't hesitate to do so in the future. Buono's offers great pizza and fantastic service. It's definitely a spot I'll keep coming back to! "A True Taste of New York with a Family Touch!" This pizza place is an absolute gem! The pizza was everything you could hope for in authentic New York-style--a perfect crust, flavorful toppings, and just the right amount of cheese. It truly brought back memories of classic NYC slices. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, perfect for a casual meal with friends or family. We started this adventure with their garlic knots with mozzarella that comes with their amazing, mouth watering, 6 hour, slow simmered sauce. We couldn't even hold off and devoured them before I could get a proper picture but you will not be disappointed. We also got a couple slices, a salad and some nice, crispy, meaty chicken wings. Everything, and I mean everything, came out absolutely delicious and with their special touch. What made the experience even more special was the hospitality. Jimmy, the owner, runs the place with his family, and their passion for what they do really shines through. Not only was the staff incredibly friendly, but Jimmy himself sent out a couple of treats from the kitchen, adding a personal touch that made us feel like part of the family. **5 Stars - Buono's Pizza** I can't recommend Buono's Pizza enough! This place is an absolute gem. They've got fantastic lunch specials that are a steal for the quality you're getting. The pizza? Delicious--hands down some of the best I've had. You can taste the love and care that Jimmy and his team put into every bite, and it really shines through in the food. The service is just as amazing--friendly, quick, and makes you feel right at home. Oh, and don't skip the desserts--they're killer! The prices are super reasonable too, which is a huge plus. Born and raised in NYC. Have been searching for a truly decent Pizza and Italian food since I left the city years ago. As soon as I walked in I had the awesome scent of my old restaurant in Little Italy on Mulberry street. I was greeted by a friendly staff who took my order. There were 5 of us and we all ordered and shared many delicious dishes. The pizza was fresh and the toppings were more than generous. It was like I was back in the city. Truly as close as to NY you're going to get in AZ. Chicken Parm dinner was excellent. We loved the Stromboli. Had fried zucchini and Mozzarella sticks as appetizers and they were also yummy. I heard about Buono's Pizza a few months ago thru a Facebook group. Figured with all the good reviews I was hearing it would be worth a try. I'm so glad I did. It's been my go to place 2-3 times a week the last month or so. From the pizzas, to the heroes, calzones, zeppoles, the list goes on and on. Each time is better then the previous one. The owners made me feel like family from the second I walked in till I leave. They don't know it yet but I want them to cater my company's Christmas parties this year. Every time someone I love comes to visit. We take them to Buono's. The food is ALWAYS delicious. The service and atmosphere are excellent.
