I hate to do this and had no plans to post this review but the experience was so appalling that I had to review. We came here for the first time for dinner. It was such a weird experience, when we walked in, we got greeted and that was it. So we started looking through the kiosk, and tried to place our order. Beware of the "combo", the price listed is for only the chicken plate, then you add in your drink order. I don't believe there's any discount if you order separately or as a combo. We were trying to pay and got "timed out". There was another party that walked in, and immediately got help at the cashier. At that point, why did we get sent to the kiosk instead of helped by the cashier to ring up our order. Luckily, they took our order then had us pay. Overall, food was not bad, but not the best. We ordered the two chicken plate - one with fried and original and the other fried and lemongrass with sugarcane juice. Like another helper said, the sugarcane juice was a little brown versus the green I'm used to, but it was tasty, The fried chicken was dry. Like over fried dry crispy, not in the good way. The lemongrass and original was a similar taste, once you dip in their sauces it tasted the same. The chicken skin was good, nice and crispy. Overall, this would have been a 3* but a few days later we found out that we were charged twice. We called immediately and was given the run around and they didn't believe us. We have been trying to work with you. It's not fraud. Of course we weren't given a receipt, one for the "time out" and the other at the counter. I'm not sure what kind of business you're trying to run, but this has been the worst experience ever. We called today trying to reach them, and had the rudest server answer. She said the manager isn't in and hung up. Customer beware. You have been warned about this place.

Hainan Chicken & Rice is often called Singapore's unofficial national dish. Some believe it came from Hainan, China, while others say it was created by Hainanese chefs in Singapore. Either way, it spread across the region, inspiring variations in Thailand and Malaysia. This spot states they offer a Cambodian interpretation of this classic meal. Essentially, Hainan Chicken is poached chicken, served on top of a bed of rice. The rice is not simply steamed; it's cooked using chicken broth (and I suspect a touch of chicken fat) to give the rice a richer taste and texture. Burd has its "Classic" plate that mirrors the traditional preparation. But I really like their "Lemongrass" plate, where the chicken is cooked twice--poached, then grilled to achieve a seared crust. The rice served here is also a bit drier and more seasoned than you typically see. The bottom line is both chicken rice plates are very good. They also serve fusion burritos, wings, and more--perfect if you want to grab a drink at the craft brewery just a few doors down.

Me and my husband ate here this week. We split the Classic Burrito. It had yellow rice, chicken, cabbage, cilantro cucumber and green onions. Chili ginger sauce came in a little ramekin on the side. The burrito was great! The sauce really made it. *yummy* I really liked the type of rice in it; I believe it's cooked in chicken broth. They do charge a 4% fee for using credit. I don't like when restaurants do that. Fortunately my husband had cash on him. We would definitely go back (and bring cash again) as the food was really good and seemed on the healthy side.

The food was damn tasty! We shared a 50/50 chicken& rice plate we got lemon grass chicken and the traditional steamed chicken. Its really about the sauces here, definitely dont miss the lemongrass sauce then douse your awesome rice with the scallion garlic sauce.. soo good! Ambiance is kinda fast fooodish on purpose. Service was super fast and friendly. So glad they chose to come to long beach, we are becoming a food city. Dont miss burd , you can thank me later. They also have some very cool beverages....

Came to Burd Chicken Rice and ordered through the kiosk, which was super easy and fast. The food came out so quick, I was honestly impressed. Seems like a good to go or sit down place but all the food packaged to go it seems. One of the workers came out and talked to us to see how the food was and it was super sweet. I got the mix plate with regular chicken and lemongrass chicken, and both were sooo good. The chicken was juicy and flavorful, but what really made it was the sauces. They just elevate everything. And of course, the rice was chef's kiss. So fragrant and comforting. There's also outdoor patio seating, which is nice if you want to hang out and eat there. Parking is a little limited, but it is free in the lot so not too bad.

We were hungry and wanted something quick. Finally checked this place out and it was pretty good. Their Hainan chicken is definitely better compared to to other places in this area. Their rice was also well flavored and they give all the sauces that you usually get for this dish. Service was quick as we got it to go. Overall, not bad.

10/10. Chicken was tasty, soft, and yummy. Love the sauces it comes with. Veggies were great and yellow rice was delicious. The side soup was refreshing and made hot. Wasn't fan of the mango madness drink but the hospitality, food service, and ambiance was great. A heads up: Parking lot is funky as there only a few spots in the front and a one way to the back lot.

I ordered the Classic Burd Hainan Chicken Rice Plate. The chicken was juicy and the rice was flavorful. It's a good portion size for the price. It also comes with soup which was delicious. What stood out for me was the ginger scallion and chili-ginger sauce. It really complemented the rice and chicken. It's very flavorful. I was licking the container it came in just to get all the sauce. I came in during lunch. The parking there is kind of tight. The door was heavy to open. I had to use two arms to open it. The service was good. Didn't take too long to wait for my order. There's seating inside and outside. You could order your food from the screen or a person.

For amazing chicken rice with a touch of Cambodian flare, you need to head to Burd Chicken Rice in Long Beach! I got their: Mix Burd Plate Lemongrass Chicken Protein Bowl Crackling Chicken Skin Garlic Soy Wings Cane Passion The crispy and poached chicken were my favorites because the meat was moist, juicy, and so tender which paired perfectly with their flavorful and fragrant ginger rice. All chicken rice plates come with soup, ginger scallion, and chili-ginger sauce, and you need to wash every down with their refreshing sugarcane drinks. They make all their plates fresh everyday and their chicken is never frozen, which you can really taste in the quality of every bite. The sides are also so good here, with their crispy chicken skins and their soy garlic wings being my favorites! I highly recommend coming here for your next chicken rice fix!

I ordered for delivery because I wanted to try something new and they were offering 20 percent off of orders over 15. I decided on the lemongrass chicken burrito and the egg rolls. I really enjoyed the food and the portion of the burrito was very generous. It was different than any other burrito I have ever had due to the flavor profile and the sauces were really yummy. This is a place that you should definitely try for yourself if in doubt.

Brought our the family, Loved it!! Got the classic chicken plate, white a side of the chicken bombs. The rice was amazing, and we enjoyed the sauces, my favorite was the garlic one.

Still in soft opening, they're focusing on tightening up their prep of chicken bowls and chicken skins. First day of soft opening was Sunday. They report that the rest of the menu might be available next week. Love to have an option for hainan chicken, but they really offer chicken done well in all textures. If you like Hainan chicken, order the classic as it's delicious with their rice cooked in chicken broth and their garlicky and gingery sauces. Order their lemongrass chicken if you want a flavorful grilled chicken. If you want both, order the mix plate. The plate comes with chicken broth. If you don't want broth, get a bowl. I highly recommend their cracking skins as you get that desirable taste of fried chicken skins to pair with the other chicken and rice combos. I also like that they also sell congee and chicken soup. They really do it all When they have their grand opening, you can get their whole menu of drinks and egg rolls. I look forward to that. For now, this is an awesome, flavorful addition to Long Beach!

Like another yelper I do miss Yang Chow, BUT I am glad that burd chicken is another place I can add to our chicken rotation. My family got the lemon grass burd, burd bombs, and the Krispy burd. Everything was really good. My daughter loved the chicken broth that came with our meal as well. I am looking forward to coming back and trying some more things off the menu.

They've a waterfront location with the most lush environs and sumptuous atmosphere. Dark & tranquil with a hint of sexy and the bay views - come on now. Food was good, I had the miso glazed mahi-mahi, I would prefer a side of salad instead of 2 cups of mashed potato, sauce was a little on the sweet side for my taste. My husband had the Scottish salmon, and he cleaned his plate, the sweet potato hash w/ pancetta was yummy.. it enhanced the taste of the salmon. My sister in-law had the pan seared scallops, I also think that the side should be optional instead of rice and there was only a few pieces of the scallops. My brother his friend had the Wasabi crusted filet mignon, which they've enjoyed but also should have options for the sides, not everyone like mashed potato, the mushrooms was a bit salty, maybe better with shitake & asparagus. We have the calamari and warm fried brie which were delicious :) Maybe they can add the fried tofu as an appetizer instead of brussels, just a suggestion. I've had the Tahitian Sunset which was too sweet for my taste but you can taste the flavor of the passion fruit , the strawberry fields was better, maybe next time I will try the cucumber crush... I will highly recommend this place, you will definite enjoy yourself with a singer/band performing while you enjoy the food.

Parking is a bit of a game of chance thanks to the tiny lot, so plan accordingly. Once you're inside though, the restaurant is super clean, modern, and the service is fast and attentive. We started with the papaya salad. It was just okay--I'm still trying to figure out why there was a blanket of romaine lettuce casually lounging on top. I ordered medium spice, which turned out to be "medium if you breathe fire for fun." The papaya was also a little more raw than I personally like. The tom kha soup was decent, but the real MVP was the drunken noodles with beef. Those noodles were absolutely swimming in savory goodness and perfectly soft. I would've happily ordered a second plate and called it "dessert." Overall, I'd definitely come back--mostly because those drunken noodles are already living rent-free in my head.

My family and I were heading to the Aquarium of the Pacific and wanted to find a good dinner spot…read morenearby afterward. I came across this place on TikTok because of their famous Thai tea popsicle, so naturally I had high hopes. First off, we got incredibly lucky with parking. I can definitely see how parking could be a nightmare since the lot is tiny, so consider finding a spot part of the dining experience. When we arrived, the inside was cute and seemed clean. We were seated outside, which also looked nice at first glance, but I noticed quite a few spider webs around the windows. My boyfriend even felt webs brushing against his arm while we were sitting there, which wasn't exactly the extra ambiance we were expecting. We ordered quite a bit: spicy Pad Thai, Bang Bang Shrimp, Pad See Ew, mango sticky rice, and of course the Thai tea with the popsicle. I'll give credit where it's due. The Bang Bang Shrimp was easily the best thing we ordered and was absolutely delicious. The Thai tea popsicle also lived up to the TikTok hype, although the actual Thai tea itself was on the sweeter side. If you love sugar, you'll probably enjoy it. My biggest complaint with the food was the spicy Pad Thai. The flavor was great, but it came with what felt like a whole chicken farm and a cameo appearance from the noodles. I ordered Pad Thai, not chicken with noodle garnish. The Pad See Ew was also noticeably salty. Now you're probably wondering why I'm giving this place a low rating if most of the food was decent. Unfortunately, the service completely overshadowed the meal. When it was time to pay, my aunt was figuring out how much everyone needed to Zelle her since the restaurant only allows a maximum of two cards for split payments. While we were trying to do the math, our waiter stood over us watching the payment screen like he was supervising a final exam. He was clearly waiting to make sure a tip was entered. My aunt politely asked him to give us a minute, and thankfully he walked away. Maybe when you see a family actively calculating a bill, that's your cue to...actually give them a minute. Keep in mind we also tipped 20% despite all this. Throughout the meal, he did stop by our table, but it rarely felt like he was checking in to make sure everything was okay. If anything I felt rushed. He also gave off that "customer service smile" that disappears the moment you stop looking. The cherry on top for me happened as we were leaving. We had been sitting on the outdoor patio talking for a bit after paying, which is pretty normal for my family. Before leaving, I went inside to ask where the restroom was. The guy and girl behind the bar looked at each other, laughed, and then asked if I was a paying customer. Keep in mind, I was literally holding a to-go bag with leftovers from the restaurant. I responded, "Yeah, I just finished eating," while holding up the bag that made it painfully obvious. Only then did they tell me where the restroom was. Nothing says "valued customer" quite like being interrogated about whether you actually ate there while carrying your leftovers. It's unfortunate because the food had some highlights, and the restaurant itself has a cute atmosphere. But the service made it feel like customers are viewed more as transactions than guests. Between hovering over us during payment and questioning whether I even belonged there after spending money, I left feeling more unwelcomed than satisfied. I'll happily support a restaurant that appreciates my business instead of making me feel like I have to prove I earned the right to use the restroom after paying for dinner.

The place was not packed but there was no space within the wooden booths for Conrad and I. I asked for options, and they showed me two different rooms. The first room was the Hao Pen You room which was heavilty yet beautifully decorated with varying red lanterns in the ceiling. According to history, in the 1800's it was common for Chinese immigrants to visit gambling and opium dens behind laundry rooms to find a space that they could call their own and escape discrimination. I am sure that dens of the past did not have the blazing style of the room I was sitting in, but I did appreciate learning about the history that inspired the room. Only because the pain of the past was reshaped to honor a culture in theatrical and edgy red. Plus, as one of my pictures show, the dragon's face and laser lit eyes, made it seem like a real creature born to this earth, not one simply reserved for myth and Game of Throne episodes. I appreciated the immersive trip to Chinese's lore and history. The reason why I did not give this place 5 stars, was the food. The food in general was (maybe tragically) basic. Conrad did not confirm this fact until we were outside the restaurant. I asked him why did he not share his feelings with our server when she asked? He explained why would he, she did not cook the food, and she could not do anything? And I am from the camp, where honesty matters but I guess it might only matter to me? He might be right what does honest feedback do for a server? Conrad might have been practicing "restaurant politeness" like keep the situation civil because if one becomes a demanding patron or eater then one breaks the social contract and becomes rude. Specifically, Conrad and I had the Vegan Dumplings, the pork buns, and rice wrapped in leaves. And even though we had different bites, and each one had their own flavor profile at the end I can only describe each bite as basic. That is my opinion, and I stand by it, as I should, as every one should. Perhaps this restaurant owns this identity. This might be a place that offers theatrical atmosphere, great drinks, vibes that make a Tuesday special, but their food might be the area that remains standard, and in the final score card the servers of the joint might be ok with that.
