I am so disappointed. Myself and my family have been customers at this establishment since it originally opened and I am thoroughly disappointed with my experience today. I had called in an order to go for my kids and I... firstly, when I recieved my food, items were missing. Spe officially my youngest child's order. We had to wait 10 more minutes on top of the 40min we had already waited for her order to be made. Once I got home, gave everyone their food, the disappointment continued. My burger was totally inedible. I had ordered a stuffed burger and omg! It had to have been dropped. It looked like it had exploded in the box. I opened it immediately after getting home(10min from the restaurant) and the bun was so soggy, it was disgusting. My daughters Hawiian Swiss burger was dripping what I hope was pineapple juice. Her bun was also soaked and mushy. My sons burger looked the ingredients had just been thrown in the box with a burger patty and bun. They attempted to eat the with forks. Our fries and onion rings were ice cold because, I assume they were made first and we had to wait the additional time for my youngests order to finally be made. I payed over $60 for our order. I feel like I have been extorted. I would have happily paid that much for what I had ordered, but what I actually recieved wasn't worth that amount of money at all. I completely understand that this is a small local business. In fact, writing this review has been difficult because I am member of this community as well and I wish no ill will on our local businesses. We are all in this together. The poor quality of what my family and I recieved today however, is inexcusable. I am so disappointed. I wasted $60+ on inedible food and now have 3 disappointed kids that I still have to feed. I really doubt my family or I will ever order food from Burger Barn in Pollock Pines again. Future customers beware. **I had to come back and add to my review. I'm just so disappointed. I have been here before and it has been delicious. Wonderful even. This time, however, it was the worst. My kids and I have been sick for the past couple of weeks. We all finally felt like eating at the same time, so I splurged on burgers(thinking of how delicious they were going to be). I totally regret that decision now. Sixty dollars pretty much down the drain. If the employees cared at all, it might be different, but they don't. They take business related complaints as if they were personal attacks. We have been coming here since they opened. I remember when Gabby was the best server around and the food was great! Tonight we had the worst food service and experience we've ever had at a restaurant. We had no idea who our server was and our food was slop...Our first rude burger slinger was a 30 something hand tatoo'd man that was in a hurry to close out and go home (730, they close at 8). Then a disgruntled lounger lady dropped each item off infront of each of us like she had to pay for it. No onions mean no onions on my son's burger. My burger SUCKED...I needed a fork to finish half of it. Then, at 740 the tat'd man broght the check and sat there until we payed. He filled up my soda 15 minutes late and then his disgruntled partner walked up and cleared the whole table after I had one sip. She actually grabbed cups out of our hands while we were drinking. We used to support this establishment. We even spread the word that it wasn't the old Burger Shack...Now, we call it the Burger Pit as a shack would infer a place of buisness. Terrible service, the food is terrible and your staff could learn a thing or two from the Taco Bell place down the street. We are local so we will make sure no-one we know will ever go through what we did....If 0 stars were an option I would've picked it. Oh, and the tat'd genius tried to follow us out to argue the poor service, bad idea guy, all you did there was solidify why the Burger Pit now has 41 hidden comments after mine is read by the owner. My family and I have been customers at burger barn since they opened (we are locals). We had stopped going about a year ago, and decided that tonight would be a good burger night after a long hard week worth of work. We showed up 40 minutes prior to closing, they had 3 tables of customers and plenty of room for the 3 of us to sit. We weren't greeted once, and waited about 10 minutes for someone to acknowledge that we were even there. The man took our order and all was set. The young lady with half bleach blonde hair and half dark delivered our drinks hastily and almost spilled them all over the table and took off without even apologizing. As we ate we could hear the cook and staff arguing LOUDLY over who was going to leave first and bickering about splitting up tips. Then out of the blue, WHILE WE WERE EATING, the man came over and told us we need to pay so he can close out his drawer, he hovered over our table until I signed our receipt (it was very uncomfortable). We finished eating and were drinking what was left of our sodas when the bleach blonde/dark hair girl came back again and literally GRABBED MY HUSBANDS DRINK OUT OF HIS HAND - and our 10 year old sons and mine - all in one swoop! We stated that the service was terrible and we should have never left a tip and the man decided to argue with us all the way out to our car. Well, they made sure we were out of there right at 8:00 on the dot - and we will make sure to NEVER COME BACK AGAIN. read more

We have been to Burger Barn a quite a few times. New owners purchased it recently and we have visited twice. First time the food was fine, but the staff seemed on edge. The second time we visited, a young blond girl who worked there was repeatedly yelling at us before we all got in the door, "for here or to go?" The lady working at the grill looked like she wanted to jump over the counter and beat the crap out of us. I understand that they were closing soon, but they were still open when we arrived. We have never been treated so rudely at a restaurant before. We quickly turned around and left. Since that is how they greet customers now, we have decided to never go there again, and we will be spending our hard earned dollars elsewhere. read more

Just a little note from Burger Barn, our burgers are freshly brought in every two days. They are not frozen and have no marks in them to suggest other wise. It seems a bit suspicious that all the pictures posted and good comments posted on the new competition in town are from the same person who posted such a negative thing about us. This place is great. We were able to bring our dog out of the heat and eat outside. He even had his own water bowl. The burgers were big and juicy and had so many different shake flavors. The place was packed with a line waiting and will still had our food delivered hot in under 15 min,. more than I can say about the place down the street took 30 min just for water the day before. The staff was friendly but looked like they should be on roller skates. we will be back and so will my pooch read more

My kids love stopping here on the way home from Tahoe! The burgers are AWESOME, especially with their Sierra Fries (beer battered fries-mmmm good!) and the service is wonderful. They also have sandwiches and mozzarella sticks and all sorts of other choices. They have an ice cream mixed with candy or cookies dessert thing that I can't remember the name of... but it's also yummy. :) The owners are very friendly and the place is very clean with indoor and seating. read more

We came in and tried breakfast here last weekend I guess it was their first weekend open. It was a lot of food and at a good price. It came out on a large red platter and the gravy was the best in town. We really needed a good breakfast place. Their stuffed Burgers are the bomb. read more

BEST place in Pollock Pines to eat!!! Burgers are delicious. Not greasy, but a great old fashioned style burger. Prices are very fair. Milk shakes.... YUM!!! Beer battered fries are my very favorite... Service is FABULOUS!!!! read more

Try the stuffed western burger. It took a good twenty minutes to get our food but once we did, simply fantastic burger. Lots of shakes too but haven't tried one yet. Will be back read more
